Music is great! The service and food is less than acceptable. I’m not sure where to start. A 12 year old boy sat us at a table that was dirty and had only 2 chairs, there were 3 of us. The drinks arrived after we finished the appetizers. Our waitress was trying to sell us on dessert but another waitress kept interrupting her, a bit rude. Our waitress kept touching her eyes, face and nose the entire evening, and then touched our coffee cup rims when she delivered the coffee to our table. She asked if we wanted bread but failed to delivery. At 6pm on a Sunday the restaurant had run out of steak and creamer for the coffee. Here’s the food: the French fries were cold, the chicken marsala was lukewarm and very greasy, the pork tenderloin was over cooked. I really wanted to like this place, the live music is fabulous and the ambiance was ideal for live music and date nights.

We weren’t sure what to expect but we both ordered the ribeye steak. The server was very sweet but poorly trained. The steak was not good… we asked for Chicago style and it was overcooked on one side and undercooked on another and there was no char. They didn’t charge us for either steak. My salad and mixed drink were good. Had we stuck with an Italian plate, we may have had a more positive experience, but we don’t know. We left to have dinner somewhere else.

It’s OK. Ordered the pork roast which was flavorful due to rosemary but very tough, the mashed potatoes were runny and had no flavor, served with broccoli and carrots. Not a bad meal but not good either. I could have made better at home. Server was rude and I caught her rolling her eyes TWICE when I asked for bread and then again for salt. No reason to return

So great to have a laid-back music venue here. Tonight’s band was superlative! The food wasn’t anything particularly above average but the attentive staff and the venue well set up for music made up for that.

so, sitting at the bar and someone else orders the pasta dish that i was considering, i asked him how it was, and he says it was good and he twirls his pasta and mentions that the pasta itself was cooked perfect. i thought that was an unusual commentary but ok — i go for it, thinking that sauce etc sounded great and if the pasta itself was cooked well, then that’s bonus. got the dish, and OMGYES! the noodles were boiled to perfection! al dente delicious! yes woohoo! as good as it gets! (it’s the little things…)

The music is just too good to stay away. We have gone back and risked the food a couple times and it has been OK. They say the booths by the window allow you to converse while the music is playing but not with the group that was playing when we were there. Stick to the bar area if you want to talk unless it is group that plays softly.

Pretty great place out in North Bend. They had a great band playing(Full Circle Jazz Ensemble). It’s great to see a place so dedicated to quality music and entertainment. The main stage area is open and relaxing, with a great view of Mt. Si. The staff was friendly and did a great job. My pork was great, although the salmon that my wife ordered was just OK. She just ended up eating half of my plate, so we left pretty happy.

We had dinner here after a long day of shopping at the outlets close by. It is a great place to listen to awesome, live music, enjoy a great meal and do it all with your kids in tow. My family loved it here! We will definitely be back again this summer.

This Is a great place to go to feel the music. You are up close and personal. The menu changes often and we have never been disappointed. Even the wine menu features a variety of local cellars. The performers are great. We are listening to a group of musicians who have not played together and they are great. The love of jazz is prevalent. You got to go.

I’ll have to go against the other reviews and say: don’t get the Cherry Chicken. It’s basically chicken penne with a sickly cream syrup over everything. The sauce reminded me of condensed milk. Maybe it would appeal to kids(caramel and hot fudge on pasta sounded great when I was young!), but adult me thought it was a joke.

We found Boxley’s as we were searching for a place that has live jazz but is more than a bar. We wanted a nice dinner for my birthday. We drove out from Seattle and were really pleased! The food is great! It’s not a large menu, but we each found some great items to try and loved them all! The music was good and was a great setting for a romantic birthday dinner.

The music here is fantastic, and I really like the food and ambience too. Friendly staff, even though they get busy. This is one of my favorite spots to go when I visit the Seattle area.

I love Boxley’s. I’m not sure what happened the night that Malinda N was here but her review is totally off base and not at all with merit. Please disregard.

A potential customer recommended we all go to this place while we were on a business trip. The town is adorable, small town feel with a few gems, like Boxley’s to keep things lively. The jazz was great entertainment. The person we came with explained that the owner, Danny is a great guy who has a passion for jazz and also there is some sort of mentoring going on with the nearby school. This was evident when some sophomore boys were performing on stage. The food was very good, and fairly expensive. This is probably to help cover the costs of the music in one way or another. My coworker and I shared the pasta gorgonzola and the cherry chicken pasta. We had meatballs as an appetizer which were amazing! We also had calamari, which was very good, although I prefer my calamari fried and it isn’t fried here(oh well, saved me a few hundred calories). I also love how there is art hanging on the wall for sale. This place has so many cool attributes to it! The reason for the lack of a star is the service, which actually wasn’t horrible but maybe their system/process could use some tweaking. We had 2 girls waiting on us, it was hard to know which was our server. They both seemed too busy, maybe they need to hire more staff. They were seating people, getting drinks, and running food then taking our plates. Maybe hiring a busser or food runner could make the service a little more efficient. I imagine in this community most of the local workers are from the high school so they are just entering the workforce and getting the hang of things, other reviewers really should have kept that in mind before being so critical.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. I was hoping we made the right decision and we did! Everything was fabulous, from the service to the food and the music. The appetizers were delicious. We had the artichoke dip and the caprese. I ordered the special which was a filet mignone with poached plum and it was to die for! My husband has the Boxleys steak and he really enjoyed it. We both had dessert, the brownie and the cheesecake and those were awesome too. The wine was heavenly. We had a bottle of the montepulciani. We really enjoyed our entire experience here and we will definitely be back. Thanks, Boxleys!

I wish I could give it less than 1 star! It’s horribly loud. The food is mediocre and the price is outrageous. I do not plan on going back! EVER!

Visited for the first time with my aunt & uncle and a few other family members. Where to start?! So many good things to say. First of all, north bend is a quaint(from what I’ve seen) little town outside of Seattle. With the mountains so close it’s a great day trip. We made reservations at Boxleys and were seated promptly. Our main visit was to see/listen to James Caddell. What a voice! After ordering some drinks and appetizers(onion rings– & salmon cakes-super good!) we enjoyed James and the band. I ordered the Cherry chicken. Oh my. Yum. & hot too, temperature wise. Not like it had been sitting too long. The sauce was creamy and sweet and the chicken was cooked just right. As I’m writing this, I can’t wait to have my leftovers for dinner. Aunt had the steak salad & enjoyed it, took the leftovers home. Uncle took the healthy route of grilled chicken and veggies, nice size and variety. The others got a few hamburgers and by the looks of their plates they liked them. Décor & lighting was simple, clean but pretty. Especially as it got later the lights in the windows and the small table lights made it so neat inside. Service was the best. Empty drinks didn’t sit long, didn’t have to wait long for anything and our server April was awesome. She put up with my uncles humor/sarcasm and was witty right back, she was so kind. I look forward to coming back :-)
