Overall I would say pretty great for Coos Bay/North Bend. Solid mediterranean food. Everything was good so far… only dish slightly disappointing was the Chicken Shwarma. Not what I was used to. I’m no expert at mediterranean food but normally chicken shwarma is moist but dry. This one had a wet sauce on it. It wasn’t bad… just not great. The steak shwarma I tried the next day was again wet sauce but was still good. One of the favorites for good reason is the spicy feta dip. The fried flatbread it comes with is fantastic. The hummus and falafel were also decent. You should also try the Baklava. I thought it was pretty darn good.

This place never disappoints. Had the Kabsa with a hummus appetizer. The food and service were great. The serve a variety of different middle eastern cuisines and have a full bar. Will return !!

The food is fantastic! We started with the spicy feta dip an it is phenomenal, not to mention being served with the best pita chips I’ve ever had! Next the waitress brought out the shoba soup and it is to die for! I’ve never had a soup so yummy, the waitress mentioned it was a popular selection and I completely understand why now. Choosing a dinner was a tough choice because so many things were appealing; I tried a pita sandwich and it was delicious, I forget the name of it though. All together a great experience and great service. I almost forgot to mention the delicious cucumber water they serve, amazingly refreshing and so unique. I am really looking forward to eating here again!

My new favorite restaurant in the Coos Bay Area. Great service and atmosphere, good prices, and amazing food. Also has the best vegetarian options around. My one year old loves it too! Baby approved! Yum!

So, I’m spoiled. I lived in a large city before moving to Coos Bay and I had multiple good Mediterranean restaurants to choose when eating out. Mediterranean food is my absolute favorite type of food, tailed by Indian and(good) Mexican/South American food. So you will hear that Café Mediterranean is the best Mediterranean food in town – well it’s the ONLY Mediterranean food in town. And it’s really not that good. The hummus is good. I can pass on everything else I’ve had there which includes a panini(the roma), galaia platter, shawerma chicken platter(way too much rice!), fattoush and lamb shawerma sandwich. Yes, I ate there a lot for a person who didn’t really like the food all that much, but what can I say? It’s the only Mediterranean in town!

We passed by Coos Bay on our road trip. What a treat it was to have a warm cooked meal after days of sandwiches. The food, especially the appetizers were yummy. They are kids friendly, and we had our first stress free experience eating in a restaurant with our three kids there. One star less because the chicken nuggets in the kids meals were the frozen shaped ones from the store. My kids did not mind but I prefer when I pay for a cooked meal, to get something made in the restaurant.

The Lamb Kabob is a masterpiece! On a sword the size of Ex Caliber this meal fits the bill! Everything at this great place is fresh, and family recipes of the owner. Hands down the best shawarma I have ever had… even his salad dressing are to die for! The great staff never disappoints

Yummy food! I especially like the Mezza platter. They let you mix and match any of the appetizers. I’m like the falafel, hummus, & spicy feta dip. My husband always goes for the chicken shawarma. The ambiance is okay, but the staff is always quite friendly! And they do take out.

We were passing through town and found this place based on Unilocal reviews and were once again not let down. My mother doesn’t like trying anything new and was doubtful but even she found something she loved. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip and were blown away. It is nothing like anything I have tried before and has tons of garlic which we loved. It is blended more then we are used to but it is amazing and the pita«chips» that they serve are home made and still have the softness of pita bread even though they are fried. For a meal my husband and I had the beef shawarma and it was great. My mother had a turkey pita sandwich which she raved about. If you’re in the area stop in. The food is well with it and the service was great too!

Great food! If you’re in the mood for non seafood fare while in North Bend, stop by and enjoy some incredible and authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Steak shawarma lunch special was absolutely tasty! Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant has a nice clean atmosphere.

We are traveling down the coast from Seattle and found this place through Unilocal reviews. Decided to try it. Had the hummus dip, spicy feta dip(my favorite!), the lentil soup and the lamb kebab. All were absolutely delicious! The service was also top notch. The Greek wine is worth a try. We tried a sample of the Helo(dessert). Yum! We would definitely return next time we’re in the area.

We were surprised to find a Mediterranean restaurant in North Bend while scoping through Unilocal so we had to give it a try. It was getting close to 8:00 pm and I knew our choices were going to be limited. Surprisingly, as we walked in at about 8:20 pm on a Tuesday night, there were two other tables with patrons. We weren’t too sure what to order so we went for the lamb kabobs as suggested by the waitress. She came back a few minutes later and said they were out of lamb. A Mediterranean restaurant with no lamb? That would be like a steakhouse with no beef. The waitress suggested the shewarma and the spicy freta(appetizer) which we ordered. They were both delicious. The best part was the fresh baklava(which I was planning on ordering anyway) that was given to us for the lack of lamb. I never had baklava this good. Though, I never had baklava that was made this fresh. I was initially planning on rating this place a 3, but the excellent service and the authenticity(Lebanese) of the restaurant bumped it up to a 5. I wish I had the name of the waitress. She was genuinely nice and was very helpful.

It is good food but not the best I have had. Waitress was very nice. Salad was marginal … kind of boring really. The gyro seemed skimpy on the meat and the sauce. I looked at some of the deserts and they looked like they were off the commercial food truck. I would try some other places next time.
The first time I was introduced to Café Mediterranean, I was a newbie to Middle Eastern cuisine and therefore skeptical. What a pleasant surprise! I’ve since fallen in love with the chicken shwarma, kabsa rice, warm pitas, creamy lentil soup and helo for dessert. They’re always willing to let me experiment, adding or changing the menu items, all the way to switching the rum in a mojito for ouzo or whiskey. Tonight we visited to celebrate my birthday, and the staff treated me to a slice of baklava with a birthday candle and sang to me. It was a beautiful gesture that left me blushing and grateful. Thank you all so much for making my day extra special!
