Rock Creek Ridge

We lived here for 5 ½ years and we just moved out. Yes, the management does raise your rent every year and they due change staff very frequently. Although their are some good staff members that they do get from time to time, like Julie. Yes, they do lock you into a long term lease. We would have been paying around $ 2500+ for a month to month so we decided to go to a 1 year lease as this was the cheapest option. We had a family medical emergency and we had to move and pay $ 2500 to break the lease 6 months in on the last 1 year lease and we left a week early. Yes, they still charge for painting and cleaning when you move out. No it doesn’t matter what the condition of your apartment is in or how long you have lived here. Don’t expect to get your deposit back because you wont and you will have additional charges on top of that. Yes, there is almost no parking and you will frequently find people parked in places were they shouldn’t be that may be blocking your driveway without your consent or in a fire lane. And you will get nicked and dimed that is a fact!
The walls are paper thin so when you are going to the bathroom you may here your neighbor going to the bathroom. If the neighbor has surround sound or their TV up to loud you will hear that as well. Your only recourse is to turn up the radio or TV in your place to try and drowned them out.
The first few years here some of the neighbors would have big parties on holidays and even some weekends and would be very loud until around 1am. We tried to make friends with them and when that didn’t work reported them to the office. Which would only work for a day or two. We called the police on them several times and eventually it subsided but you can hear noise from outside of the town homes. We stayed for the first few years because it was cheap here at the time compared to other places on the east side and the area is beautiful! But now you can find similar places for the same price in Issaquah, Redmond, or Kirkland. Also buying a house will cost you the same price or less.
You should expect to get snow as we received it every year with the exception of the last one which was just a light dusting. However, if Redmond gets 2 inches of snow you can expect to get 10 inches of snow. When that happens many people can’t drive up to there town home because the ridge is a little steep so you may have to park at the base of the hill and have to hike up which can be up to about ½ a mile depending on how high up you live. Which we have done before. Also Tanner electric does have frequent blackouts due to the high winds in North Bend. A could of years ago we were out of electricity for a week.
The owners of this place (Braddock and Logon) are money hungry! Hence the price increasing and the nickle-​and-​diming. The staff, on the other hand, are mere puppets sad to say.
Over all it is a beautiful area because you do live in the country and wake up to Mt Si but due to everything else previously mentioned I only gave this 2 stars.

Conclusion at the end if you want to skip this:
0 Stars for move in. I am giving this a big huge THUMBS DOWN! The apartment looked good at first and easy glance, but once we really got into the apartment we could tell it was not cleaned professionally and the carpets had NOT been cleaned. Examples: Urine around the toilets, mildew in the master shower, vacuum full of dog hair after vacuuming one floor level, the stove, refrigerator and laundry unit were not moved to clean around, and last, but not least, the previous tenant’s laundry accessories and cleaning products were left on top of the dryer.
The washer and dryer were not serviced. We had major issues with the dryer. It had to be run at least 3 times to get the load dry. The dryer unit was full of lint (FIRE HAZARD!) and the hose was majorly kinked. The maintenance team came and fixed it.
3 Stars for living at complex. I am giving the complex 3 stars because of the following:
The cupboards, counters, sinks and other fixtures are very nice. We had a white kitchen and enjoyed the brightness. Overall we were very happy with the apartment itself. I absolutely loved the view! We were in building 2 and had a wonderful view of Mt Si, but I believe most units do not have views as they face south, west or east.
Office miscommunicated and misunderstood maintenance requests often.
The building is very poorly built. The kitchen area has very little insulation in the floor and during the cold months the office posts signs reminding everyone to open their under sink cupboard so the pipes don’t freeze. Wear slippers! Also, the common utility wall with the neighbors is very poorly built and insulated. You can hear every time anyone uses the toilets, faucets and showers in the next door unit. You can also hear the sub pump whenever the water is used. You can also hear sound systems very easily. Sometimes I could actually understand what the person was saying in the movie or TV show because I could hear it so well, through a wall! If your neighbor has a dog, you will most definitely hear them. So if animal noises bug you make sure you discuss the neighbors before signing for a unit.
Some units may also have mold issues because the siding and balconies are greatly failing in many units. We were asked not to use our balcony for 6 months because it was in such bad shape. They took 4 weeks to replace it during the summer.
If you have children, I would highly recommend you stay away from any units in building 1, which is overlooking the pool. There are some very unsavory things that go on in the pool area when it is available for use, mostly during the times when it is supposed to be closed for the night.
0 stars for move out. We gave notice 7 weeks in advance, requesting a move out walk through. We moved out three and half weeks before our lease was over. During this time we cleaned, touched up paint and prepared the apartment for release in better condition than we received it. We received a letter from the office stating we could hire our own cleaners to clean if we give them the invoice for the work. As stated in the move in description, the unit was not professionally cleaned, carpets and otherwise, when we moved in last December (¹²⁄₂₀₁₄). We requested invoices for the carpet and apartment cleaning for the 2014 date it was cleaned before we moved in. This was requested on December 28^th, 2015. Management stated on December 29^th, 2015 via email, «The invoices are archived and will take a couple days to find,» and did not receive them until January, 14, 2016. We received a corporate invoice for move out and it had negative and positive numbers everywhere.
In conclusion, I give, based on facts, our experience with Rock Creek Ridge a 2 star. They want you in, they want you to stay… BUT just be warned… PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL. Do NOT sign for the apartment if you see any sign of dirt, urine or mold. Ask for it to be cleaned again. Do NOT rely on your first impression or first glance. Double, even triple check everything before signing for it. Also, make sure the appliances are safe, the oven, dryer and so on. After moving in, be sure to invest in a good pair of slippers. You’ll need them when working in the kitchen in the cold months. You may also need to invest in some ear plugs or a good set of headphones to cancel out the sometimes loud neighbors, especially if they have a dog (s). Stay away from building 1 due to poor choices by residents in the pool area during the summer. When you are ready to move out, it’s not worth your time to clean the apartment because they will charge you anyway, even though you received it in very poor condition. It’s a nickel and dime game, folks. Oh, also want to mention, rent does go up a lot after the first year lease. Be careful! Some residents have had their rent go up $ 500/​month in the last three years.

This place is ok. The workout room is decent, location is pretty good and the pool in the summer is nice. So why 2 stars? Mainly cause of the people running the place. They nickel and dime you for everything, constantly raise rents and try to trap you into a long term lease. I’ve never had a company try to recoupe painting costs from a tenant. Basically you won’t get any of your security deposit back so don’t bother cleaning when you move out. We über cleaned the place, touched up the walls with paint and they still charged us.
Parking also sucks here so be forewarned. We were also without our deck for 5 months of living there and the only thing they offered was to not charge us $ 100 to use the clubhouse (which is attached to their office). Walls are ok as far as apartment goes but you can still hear your neighbors pretty well.
Basically to sum it up, the great views and scenic location are offset by a management company that nickel and dimes it’s tenants, tries to trap them into long term leases and raises rents to ridiculous levels constantly. Friends of ours that live there have had a $ 500/​month increase over 3 years. The price they quoted us for anything less than 1 year rental was $ 1,800-$ 2,500 depending on the lease terms for a 2 bedroom town home which seems ridiculous to me. The management company seem like professional scammers to me.
In the end, it was cheaper to buy a house than to stay there. Too bad, because as far as apartments are concerned, this one isn’t to bad aside from the management company.

I lived here with my parents from ⁰⁸⁄₂₀₀₆ to about 09/​2007, our duplex was right next to the gate. As far as I can remember, I really liked this place. Management was nice, they have a pool, and a small fitness room (which I used a lot). It always smelled nice and fresh in there, and when I went, I was mostly the only one using the equipment, so this privacy was nice.
I noticed some balconies don’t have a view of the trees, for me, this would be a minus. The one we had faced the mountains, and the trees. We would get dragonflies in the spring when they have ‘babies’?. They would swarm on the balcony, and it was really a nice event to watch.
Some cons would be, all balconies are too close to your neighbors. Garage setup was weird, like you have to park cars back to back, but parking was never an issue for me. The layout of the upstairs bedroom, especially the ceiling, was slanted and weird, otherwise it was ok.
I liked the kitchen setup and I don’t mind the stairs, its good exercise. BUT, if you have a senior citizen wanting to move in, reconsider. These stairs were VERY steep, and you have to go upstairs to use the restroom.
There is a nice grassy area and a duck pond right by the complex. It’s easy to go for walks/​jogs, and not worry about high car traffic. Be careful to go alone, a lot of sketchy people drive up there.
The complex is close to the North Bend mall, Safeway and other food places, so it’s convenient.
I would move here again if I could afford, so not sure about this complex now, but I have happy memories about it. Oh, and you get a nice view of Mt. Si, in its many ‘states’ every time you drive out of complex. :)

I have lived at Rock Creek Ridge for over a year now and planning on moving out shortly since my wife and I finally found a house to call our own. The front desk staff is beyond awesome and are very friendly to talk with. It does not take them long before they actually know who you are. They will greet you by name and make sure you are well taken care of. The maintenance team on site is beyond anything I was expecting. They work quickly and take care of the issue the first time.
If I ever need a rental again and plan on staying near the Eastside this will be my go to complex!

This place is amazing. I lived here for a few years and recently relocated to CA for work. Rock Creek was the only place that ever felt like home to me. I miss it every day. I hope if I ever get back to WA to live there again. I think a lot of bad reviews are from people who either didn’t pay the bills or trashed their homes or had other problems because I had zero problems and would go back in a heartbeat. I will agree that guest parking is very limited, however it is all protected land around it and gorgeous. I’ll take that over parking. You have a garage and a driveway. Maybe if I was some kid with tons of friends it would bug me but for just me it was just fine. :)

Terrible experience at the beginning of the process, so pulled out before renting from this place. It’s sad that the only nice looking place that you can rent could be so terrible. Even though I heard stories of the place not being kept up as nice as it’s photos, I wanted to give it a chance. I filled out the application for one of the two units that were available and received a call later that day to send in a verification of income. I did that right away and didn’t hear back for another four days. She told me because my credit wasn’t all that good (and it’s not horrible by any means — not sure why that’s the only thing that matters, as I have the income to pay rent and have rented for the past 6 yrs with good references), that I would need to come up with three months rent to move in. And that unfortunately both units were rented already. Again, this was through email, so I never did respond. Then, I notice they list again on Craigslist 5+ times a day. Sounds like they are trying to scam people into paying for the application fee then deny them. Why else would you put 5+ ads on craigslist a day! DO NOT RENT HERE. I know there isn’t much of an option in North Bend, but don’t let them force you into it. Build a new apartment complex instead, you already have your first customer :)
