This place was ok. Went here on a Sunday and it was really busy. Standard diner food, nothing to write home about. The fries were good but needed salt; I had a turkey and bacon club which wasn’t bad, a little dry but they bring mayo out for you to put on yourself. My husband had the gyro and there was a lot of meat on it but it was super messy. We’ll most likely go back, on those days where you have no idea what you want to eat. Breakfast seemed popular at the tables around us.

Great breakfast with plenty of food served. Portions were huge. Staff was friendly and service was fast! Great place to have diner food if that’s what you’re craving. I would revisit again in the near future.

Great family owed diner located in the Edgewater area. I frequent this location for a quick breakfast with the bf and typically will recommend this location to friends. I frequently get the same waitresses each time I come and this trip was no difference. The waitresses I’ve had are extremely courteous and attentive. From time to time I’ll have to waive them down for the check but this spot is always busy so I understand. I typically order the turkey sausage with eggs and a waffle which is made to perfection. I tempted to try a steak here since my normal breakfast spot where I order steak is closed so this diner is doing some right. I highly recommend this diner.

Food has been consistently subpar every time I come. Why do I keep coming then? Good question. Well, it’s close, convenient, and open late. Oh, and the service is surprisingly incredible. The food is so terrible I can’t think of anything memorable I’ve ever had. Just this recent time we order the platter of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and potato skins. The funny thing is that the menu listed it as «homemade» mozzarella sticks and when I asked the server if they really were, she bluntly replied with a straight face, «Oh no no, they aren’t. I’m 100% sure.» Everything comes out of a box, can, or freezer bag. You can see it, and taste it. AND it’s extremely overpriced. No flavor, low quality, and very basic diner food. Such a shame because there is so much potential here, and the service had been great every time. I’ve learned to get basic things that cannot be ruined. Like a fried egg, fresh spinach, or…

Wife and I checked this place out while doing some Christmas shopping in the area. The restaurant was clean and in good condition. The menu offered a vast array of options. The food came out really quick which was great as we were starved. It was average diner quality food; nothing to write home about but not bad either. The one thing that concerned us and put us off about the whole experience was witnessing what we believed was a young couple being asked to speed up and clear the table. We figured they must have been worried about wait times but we noticed that there wasn’t a soul waiting to be seated. Not sure what that was about but we did notice the manager ran a tight ship with the employees. I guess the same goes for customers. We’ll probably be back in the future for breakfast but I guess we just have to make sure to not eat too slowly…

Great customer service. The evening was quiet an just perfect for waffles and breakfast food! We walked in with a great and out with a «thanks for coming, see you soon». It was a great time. The waffle was perfect, delicious, fluffy and ideal for me. The eggs were cooked to perfection! My friend ordered hash browns with veggies but they forgot them, but I called the manager over in with in ten more mins they had pipping HOT hash browns all ready to go. It was amazing. They didn’t even charge him for the mistake, great device. Over and beyond and they now have a new customer. They had their tree up in the entrance and really set the tone. I love diners and this is one that is close to me.

One of the Best! Warm, welcoming and the food! It’s a staple in my week. Tom and his family and staff treat you like family the moment you enter the door. My favorites include the melt in you mouth fish dishes, great beef and deserts too! Brunch is a must.

This place is ok, but nothing too special. The service is pretty quick. Last time our server was awesome and friendly, but the guy we had tonight seemed grumpy. The good seems a bit overpriced. My husband got a gyro and ha to put it together himself, which was a little weird. I had a chicken Marsala, and it was just ok. I don’t think they pounded the chicken well to make it tender. Honestly, my homemade marsala is better! One thing I do like is that they bring out a little appetizer thing with beets, coleslaw, and garbanzo bean salad, as well as bread and carrot and celery sticks. Really nice if you’re starving. I’d eat here again, but it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice.

This is our regular Saturday brunch spot. And it’s great — that is, it’s perfectly fine diner food. Not sure what some of the other reviewers were expecting. They have the typical Jersey diner fare, and the portions are huge, so it’s never a bad deal in terms of money either. The staff is friendly and professional, and the place is well-kept and clean. We wouldn’t be coming back here so often if it wasn’t so good and convenient. Recommended. Especially if you like diner food.

My boyfriend and I love to eat out for breakfast and being new to the area this place was easy to find. We got sat at a nice booth rightaway. A few minutes later the next table got seated, they knew their waitress personally so they were seated after receiving hugs from their waitress. In the meantime my bf and I had decided what we wanted to eat but couldn’t seem to get our friendly(to the other guests) attention. The next thing you know the table next to us is receiving their drink order. At this point we hadn’t even been asked for our drink order. We ended up catching another waitress in the area and even though she wasn’t ours, she took our order. The meal was good, but I was disappointed that my small orange juice came in a large shot glass. Between 2 meals, 1 o.j. and a coffee, the meal was $ 33. I feel it was on the expensive side considering the bad service and a ‘just okay’ meal. In Brooklyn at a family diner, at IHOP(NJ) breakfast or The Original Pancake House(NJ) for the both of us is usually $ 17 — 26. We won’t be revisiting this place.

Now I’ve seen it all! Let me start off by saying that I’ve never written a negative Unilocal review. However, after last night I felt compelled to do just that. I stopped in with a friend of mine, she was hungry I wasn’t really hungry at all. We ordered mozzarella sticks and she ordered a sandwich. I knew she wouldn’t finish the sandwich(after half an appetizer she rarely finishes her entrée) so I said«order it, if you don’t finish it I’ll eat it». The waitress interrupts«there’s a 3 $ share charge» I was baffled, I said excuse me? She repeated… I asked«am I getting a larger portion or something?». She says«no» and flips to the page on the menu where in small print it says«3 $ share charge». I laughed. I said well… we’ll take the food to go then. It gets better… When I get the bill it came to 26 $ and change… that’s fine EXCEPT the cost of the sandwich on the menu was 13.99 and on the bill it was 16 something. I asked the guy at the register about it… he was equally confused and said«let me look into this». He comes back shaking his head and says«the waitress was told to always charge extra $$ for the containers the takeout food goes in. WHAT!!! Ownership…you need to meet with your accountant/business manager and run your figures again. If you’re not prepared to offer takeout without sneaking in extra cost OR you’re too cheap to re-make your menus and increase the prices on the menu(UPFRONT) then you shouldn’t be in business! I’ve never been one to comb through receipt line items but if you go to this place… CHECKYOURRECEIPT. 1.75 here 2.00 there. Not cool.

Food is ok, not super but ok. That’s the only reason for four stars not five. Went there with my girlfriend last Sunday for late after midnight dinner. Place is clean, guys are very cool, attentive, fast and accurate. It was a pleasure to be helped by them. We’ve got mozzarella sticks and burger — order was ready almost immediately. Again, there are places with better sticks and better burgers. But price is very reasonable and service is very pleasant. So definitely go there shall you need a late dinner or something like that.

Would not recommend this place. We were cautious coming as it has so many bad reviews, and it definitely matched the low standards. My milk was warm when I got it. Which is sort of odd since it should have been in a refrigerator. A person at my table ordered a coke which came in a very small glass cup, and was charged for a refill. Who charges for a refill of coke at a fast food restaurant? –_– the waitress did not even mention that it would cost extra. She also did not even come back to check if we would like to process our check. I had to get up and give it to another person. The food was mediocre. I got a mushroom burger that literally just had buns, meat, lettuce, mushrooms, & tomatoes. It was really plain. The onion rings that came with the order tasted like it’s been sitting out for a while, with a thick batter that didn’t really compliment the onion. Honestly, save yourself some money going here and go to a super market to get a frozen dinner!

Do not come here! If I could give this place 0 stars I would! The reviews are spot on. This diner is on river rd next too condominiums, NYC skyline, expensive shops & restaurants like Ruth Chris. I understand that the prices may be higher than most but $ 20 for just 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, potatoes and fruit??? $ 20? Is this breakfast or dinner? About the food: the fruit was spoiled. The pancakes and home fries were nasty. The eggs were regular. To use the syrup you have to pull the top up. How many nasty dirty hands have been on that nasty looking top? I love diners so this review breaks my heart but this diner clearly needs a wake up call. About service: the hostess is rude. The cashier kept having a side conversation about her kids then asked me in front of everyone in line when I went to pay how much I wanted to tip. Didn’t say«hi. How was everything?». Not even eye contact. Who does that? I tip everywhere I go, but no one needs to know my business. Poor etiquette to say the least. I don’t mind paying for good food & service but when that doesn’t happen it pisses me off. You will never see me again. Come @ your own risk.

Hardworking, friendly staff and management can’t make up for mediocre food. Decided against one of the local eateries on River Road to avoid requisite valet parking and ended up here ordering challah french toast. Order was taken with a smile, plated and on the table so quickly I couldn’t believe it. Once I cut into it, I could see the slices had been battered and fried but had not been dipped long enough in egg so that the middle of the bread was still bone dry instead of eggy. I ate around the outside edges and left the plain bread portions on the plate. Next time, I’ll deal with the valet or hit the breakfast bar at Whole Foods.

I visited this diner for the very first time with my mom. We arrived early and had no problems finding parking. However, the lot was pretty busy once we finished our meal. We ordered pancakes, an omelet, sausage and rye toast. The pancakes were really mediocre. I was expecting a fluffy stack, and we found them to be pretty dense. The sausage was nothing to write home about, and the vegetable omelet was fine, nothing special about it. I might have given them 3 stars but the prices seemed a little high, which probably reflects their location rather than the quality of the food. Nothing was terrible but nothing really stood out. When North Jersey is chock full of diner stars like Tops Diner, Coach House, and Brownstone Pancake Diner, they would really need to step up their game to get my business. Even the service was mediocre, polite and prompt but nothing that went above and beyond. As mentioned, the lot was getting pretty full by 10:30 am on a Saturday. Arrive early to avoid the influx, but if you want better diner food, explore further.

If you are forced to be on River Road… consider this a decent stop for traditional Jersey diner fare. The place was renovated in the not-so distant past which was much needed. The place is very clean and the booths are nice & comfortable. The place gets busy, but there is ample seating and the service is always polite and fast. My favorite thing here is the Matzo Ball Soup. Two large balls swimming around in a broth that is just salty enough. You don’t have to read that sentence again… no typos, I said it. Like all diners they have a large menu spanning breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All things available at all times with few exceptions. French fries are good as you would expect and can accompany just about everything. The tuna melt is huge, but ask for Swiss if you prefer it that way. Default is yellow American. I have had a variety of omelets here. All have been pretty good and large enough to feed two people, though no one shares at a diner. Good pancakes and Belgian waffles. Coffee is what you would expect… warm flavored water, but they keep your cup full.
