Can’t understand what the people say. Food is bad and will be different ever time you go.

I have mixed feelings about this location. The staff is very friendly, although sometimes hard to understand but still very nice. The food is… well, fast food, but it is usually pretty good. And portion sizes aren’t too bad, sometimes they give you more chicken or shrimp than you ordered at the same price which is fine by me. The drive thru is kind of awkward, but it’s functional. Occasionally you may have to wait for them to finish making food, but many times they tell you to park up front and one of the staff members walks your food to your car which is really nice. My only concern, however, is that two times after I ate here I got food poisoning. So that may not be a very good sign of cleanliness, but all of the other times I have come here I would feel fine after eating.

Look, it’s a chain location, so bear with me. There are so many food choices up north, that just don’t exist, or are really awful, if found in other areas. Ethnic foods, delicacies, imported items, to name a few. But there are some things that northerners just can’t get right. Fried chicken is one of those things. They get the chicken wrong, they get the breading wrong, they get the frying oil and temperature wrong. In any little town down south, you can find a couple little hole-in-the-wall places that will make killer fried chicken. In New Jersey, that ain’t happening. Enter Popeye’s, which makes pretty passable fried chicken, for a chain. They also make decent biscuits(something else Yankees can’t get right — it’s a fair trade since nobody else can make a decent bagel) and sides. So, the food is at least average. But the surprise here, is that this is a locally owned franchise, and it is consistently staffed by ridiculously friendly people. They’re very happy and engaged here. It’s nice to go into a place where you aren’t treated with silent contempt!

Not sure if the cashier just got an A on his recent exam or something but he was very perky and happy go lucky when I came here on this past Sunday. He was happy and looking forward to take my order. Haven’t experienced that at fast food place in well… I don’t remember. The order was put in correctly and the food was ready very fast(to go). Out in about 5 minutes. I will be back.

This is a very good and clean Popeyes location. Food is always hot and service is good. They have a pretty quick drive thru.

It was a cold and snowy day… the snow had just started to fall and for some reason the thoughts of tiny marshmallows in a hot cocoa came to mind WAIT, NO… for some reason Popeyes spicy chicken on the takeout was a must. For some reason there aren’t that many chicken places as much as burger places IMHO, but maybe burgers are more popular? Nonetheless the first popeye’s I came across is still the same I go to when I have craving. The popeye’s in North Brunswick is where I go. Ambiance: It’s fast food and so is the ambiance. its not that big and fancy, but this place is about chicken. Its got that neighborhood feel to it. You get the feel that this place has regulars that come in for the chicken and generally they seem into the chicken like me. FOOD: I don’t have a chicken list yet, but I’m a fan. I’m a fan because of the taste and the slight crunch. I doubt its healthy and there maybe better places out there, but for now this is the top of my list when it comes to fried chicken, mind you Korean fried chicken goes on a different list. While I was there I also tried the cherry cream cheese pie. It’s packed in a casing like the McDonald’s apple pie and FRIED, FRIED in a good taste way. The taste was ok but the filling a little disappointing since not a lot of cherry bits and not a lot of cream cheese(maybe an attempt to be healthy on their part?) So if your in the mood for fried chicken, give this place a try or let me know of any good fried chicken places in the neighborhood of Central Jersey.

Wish I could give these guys a 10 star posting. Thanks you thank you to the closing crew for going all the way and beyond 20 minutes before closing. Needed a HUGE tray of chicken(50+) pieces and you guys came through with flying colors. We got there at 11:40pm and they hooked us up for a last minute party for the next day. Accomadating, friendly and beyond expectations. THANKYOUGUYSAGAIN!!! You saved the day!!!

If you’re going to eat fast food, it might as well be Popeye’s. I mean the chicken is freaking delicious. It’s got a smokey, seasoned taste that KFC can’t touch. Sorry Colonel. That sweet, middle aged black lady from the commercial has you beat. The chicken is great; the sides are, however, fast food quality. The fries are decent, but the other sides are not too good. Keep it real and just get the chicken. You can prepare sides at home and save money. This location always has some kind of deal for just the chicken. 11 – 13 pieces of chicken for 13 bucks usually; it changes frequently. That’s a pretty great deal for chicken.

Just came back from getting a chicken meal. As usual, had to pull from he drive through to let them complete my order and wait for someone to come out 15 min later with the order. When I got home, most of the chicken was soggy and the others were dry. I will not be going to this location anymore!

If you speak Spanish then they will probably get your order right! I wish they would hire at least two people who can speak English. One for the drive thru another for the register. If you come there to dine in you may need to ask for someone to wipe your table down. There are absolutely no clean tables or chairs in the restaurant. I will be driving to East Brunswick next time I want Popeyes!

Ghetto, dirty & rude — I used to go here all the time when I was attending Rutgers. Not sure if it is under new management, but place has become run down.

Great Fried Chicken, just like how they make them in New Orleans. I always get the crispy spicy chicken here with jambalaya rice! Dont forget to get their buttery cripsy biscuit on the side! My girl thinks they have the best fries! Its as good as Checker fries! They also have a drive-thru here. If you want dunkin donuts, this Popeyes is attached to one.
