Same company has placed full page ad in Richmond Times now for Free Web access via their device called «Web Grabber». When called they say it is like a device attached to computer (may be like a USB) and catches WiFi connection from unprotected facilities like schools, libraries, court house etc. for free within 3 km (2 mile) range. The cost of device is $ 94+S & H. When asked for web-​security from such unprotected sites, they say there should not be none. People should understand its feasibility.

This company placed a full page ad in our local Orange County Register newspaper preying on people (like my Father) who fell for their advertisement of free HDTV cable along with no monthly bills. He like many other unsuspecting people went ahead and rushed to phone them and get their micro antenna device with their one time fee of $ 49.00.
The device was received within a couple of weeks of him ordering and looked like a complete joke to my husband and I. (We took pictures.) This company is claiming that their flimsy, thin piece of plastic supposedly attaches to your HDTV broadcasting crystal clear channels along with no monthly bills. My husband and I tried connecting it to three of our HDTVs (as well as my parent’s two HDTVs) and got no reception at all. We tried everything and nada.
Companies like this shouldn’t be allowed to place full page ads in local newspapers knowingly deceiving the public. I think people believe them by advertising that they are able to do this because of the «Federal law», as stated in their first sentence in bold at the top of their article. My father was very disappointed that he fell victim for such a gimmick. We immediately mailed back the device over a week ago and have yet to hear from this company. This review, along with our complaint through the BBB and direct with the company, will not be the end of us until this gets resolved.
