It looks tiny on the outside, once you step in, you see it’s quite large, it stretches back a good ways. The isles are very cramped, but that adds to the cool factor of it. They have a decent selection of freshly baked breads as well. The Mexican sweet bread is great, reminds me of the Portuguese Sweet bread I get in Hawai’i. Definitely not as big as Guadalajara Market in Goose Creek, but still a solid selection. My wife gets her Takis for her school store here, they work well with her, fast service.

So I’m from Phoenix, Arizona and living out here in the South I’m very thankful for a supermarket like La Mexicana. I was craving Churritos Locos and they had everything I needed.!! They even have carnicería in the back and some really large avocados! Score!!! =) I will definitely be a regular here. Apparently this business did go through a name change, I did verify with the cashier. They use to be called El Don Juan Super Market there new name is La Mexicana. 5 Stars!

So far, this place has been able to supply almost everything that I used to get from Mexican grocery stores in Chicago. The only thing they’re missing is the HUGE selection of produce and the tamale and elote guy/lady in front of the store. So… minus one star for that. I’m deducting another star because their aisle are pretty tight. I had to walk around the aisles a few times just to get past a few people or to let others pass by. It gets kind of annoying when I’ve got kids tagging along and then groceries in my arms. Their prices could be cheaper. I picked up fabric softener here, but found out it was 2 dollars less at Lowes. Waaaa! Oh well… lesson learned. The bonus is that the people here speak English. So although I can understand a lot of Spanish, it’s nice to know that I can just comfortably speak in English too!
