Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial

Like most people, a trip to a funeral home is usually not a pleasant experience; emotions are high and a loss of someone close. However, my experience dealing with Simplicity has been extraordinary! I unfortunately lost my father to Cancer recently, and as we got closer to the end, we were moving to different homes, Hospices, hospitals, and facilities. Every step of the way, I would update Simplicity (Julie Cox) and was told they would take care of everything. I had filled out some paperwork a month before his passing in order to facilitate a smooth process, which was the case and would recommend you do the same. I received my dad’s ashes and had the opportunity to have a ceremony in their facility as well (I included pictures of their room which holds 70 people) if I so wished.
Upon my fathers passing, Simplicity went and picked up his remains and held them in their facility until a Doctor/​Coroner signed off on the death certificate. It usually will take 3 – 5 days to get everything completed; however, since it was the holidays it took a little longer. I was able to get more death certificates upon my request, certificate of cremation, and a nice urn to go along with it for approximately $ 800.
The customer service of this establishment is arguably the best I have ever seen in any business; that is considering the circumstances also. It is not only the fact that they are there to make your loved one’s wishes happen, but they are empathetic, sympathetic, and communicate with the most calming tone in person and via telephone. Think about it… it is exactly what you need when you are full of sorrow. You need someone to hear you and be understanding; that is exactly what Simplicity does.
I would HIGHLY recommend this business to anyone, and hope they give you as much comfort during your challenging time as they did mine.

Had the unfortunate experience of going to a funeral today. It was handled by Simplicity which I had never heard of.
Researched it online so I would know where to go. Apparently this funeral home was started a year ago by a man with 17 years funeral home experience and is a budget alternative to the traditional expensive cremation and funeral.
It is a pleasant chapel with pics online. A basic cremation is around $ 945 and funeral $ 4,800 as opposed to the standard $ 4 – 7000 for cremation and $ 11,000 for a funeral in the area.
Since this funeral was larger than anticipated, it was moved to Cathedral of Praise with ease. A book was available to sign and a pamphlet handled out with a nice poem and pic. The alter was adorned with flowers and family pics and a beautiful urn of ashes. Tissue boxes were amply provided. The service was just as beautiful as any I’ve attended and a beautiful song played for the ending.
The man from Simplicity was in the background but readily available to assist anyone and guide us through the beginning to end as to what our options were.
I emailed the info to my son about this place as these are the people I would want to handle my passing.
Simple like their name implies, but with respect and dignity.
I highly recommend this place, no point in putting too much pomp and circumstance into what’s gone… leave more of your assets to the living. your loved ones.

Simplicity is the place to go when a loved one passes. They are not only very affordable but also caring & respectful! My mom just passed away this march and she asked to be cremated. we chose simplicity and I am very happy that we did. No one could have been more caring. Mr. Jim dobbins is the owner and the licensed funeral director of simplicity and he is also the perfect man for this place because he was respectful and ensured our feelings and thoughts came first. The young woman who helped us with all the paperwork was AMAZING! I can’t remember her name to save my life but she is the only woman up there that takes care of the paperwork aspect of everything and she is caring and very considerate also! All of the workers at simplicity are! A lot of people just care about how much money they are going to be making, but with this place they put our feelings and hearts first before they worried or even asked about getting Paid. That is a very rare thing to find in a world like ours today so I highly recommend this place!
