Create Your Own Cheesecake & Cheesesteak

Went here on a Saturday afternoon, ordered the cheesesteak with white American, really good, good tasting meat and cheese had great flavor!
Also tried the Oreo cheesecake, huge pieces of Oreo and great flavor! Definitely will come back!

This place is amazing!!! The cheesesteaks are so fricken delicious. I haven’t been to Philly… but I really think that these have to be just as good as the originals. I always get the steak works and it never disappoints! My mouth is watering just thinking about the deliciousness…

Both the chicken and steak are delicious! Fries are nice and golden too. This is one of our new favorites places!

Great restaurant that I come across here while we were in North Chicago. We were visiting for 1 night and I’m glad we found this place! The sandwiches are huge and filling, they’re very tasty too. They make their own mayonnaise which is really good. Their «cheesecake ice cream» selection (I’m just gonna call it that) is awesome, good variety! staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Prices are decentand the food is good. Great atmosphere and customer service… Not quite a Philly cheese steak but the sandwiches are good.

I think the novelty of rubbery ice cream (marketed as cheesecake) heaped on top of sawdust-​like Graham cracker crust was lost on me. I got the strawberry cheesecake, but it didn’t taste or have a feeling of cheesecake at all. The first bites actually were really good, but it quickly became too sweet.
The flavor of the cheese steak was decent but it was literally the greasiest meal I can remember eating. Like nauseatingly greasy. The post-​meal feeling of eating here is the culinary equivalent of a running a marathon after drinking tequila shots all night…“I regret doing this”.
On the plus side, the service is helpful and friendly. Kudos to the owner for the creative concept. If the cheesesteak wasn’t so aorta-​busting and the cheesecake was actually cheesecake I might actually frequent CYOC. This place is definitely worth a first visit, and some people will become repeat customers, but I’m not sure how this niche restaurant is going to stay in business. Even crazier is that there are two locations on the same street.

My steak deluxe was delicious and very filling, even shared it with my 8 yr old and was full. Fun to see the Navy personnel coming in, gave us a chance to buy them lunch. Kid friendly and easy to find parking.

So delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy it more often. The number 6 was so good, and so filling. I have to say the employees were friendly and helpful as well, I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a great meal at a reasonable price. Thank you so much!!!

Don’t know how anybody could give this place less than five stars. Although I’ve never had there cheese steak I can tell you their chicken works wrap is most definitely to die for! Their cheese cake is pretty great as well. The service is always more than friendly and when you’re here you’re family.
Gone from Illinois for two years and the first place I came when I got back was here. Did I mention the chicken works wrap is amazing?

Here from California to see my sons navy graduation and we always check out « Unilocal» for restaurant reviews. The reviews were right on the money with its opinions. The food is good (not the best I’ve had but good and the service is excellent. The cheesecake is creative and definitely worth the calories… you got to try it.

Love those Philly nachos. Pretty quiet on weekends= fast service. I also tried their Oreo cheesecake and it’s awesome. Will definitely comeback and try their other offerings.

This place is a dive. Great food and AMAZING cheesecake. If you haven’t tried this place, you’ve got to. The cheesesteaks are yummy too. The bread… oh my!!!

I won’t do any comparisons to Philly cheesesteaks from Philly, because this place will definitely come up short. I have been to Philly, and had their cheesesteaks and they stand on their own. But this place gets my approval because they are polite and their service is quick. Nesting between a Wendy’s and Burger King, this place is a much better option. They take your order and make them fresh as you watch the cook put together your cheesesteak. They have a wide selection of cheesesteaks and sides along with other dishes such as steak nachos and even cheese cakes. With ample amount of seating available, this is a great place to grab a quick lunch during the work week. At least it is for me!

The food here is excellent! Their seasoning is a special recipe unique to the place itself. Don’t let the simplicity of the outside of the restaurant fool you. Awesome selection and portions are good!

If you are from philly, or any city near, don’t waste your time. Though the steak sandwiches are decent, you will be sorely disappointed. There is a difference between a steak sandwich and a Philly cheesesteak.
The cheese cake is amazing though!

Great food! Hands down, best fast food in North Chicago/​Waukegan. The only complaint is that they don’t keep all flavors in stock. I really miss the birthday cake flavor. Steak on sandwiches is always fresh. Sweet potato tater tots are amazing. Prices are fair, especially considering the serving sizes.

Friendly and helpful staff, everyone was greeted right away. They even offered endless free samples, it was awesome!
I got the single scoop Oreo and my husband got the single scoop cherry– both were amazing. I’m not even a cheesecake fan but I loved it. Gotta go back for the cheeseSTEAK next time!

It’s taken me almost two years to visit a place that’s literally down the street from me. I mean, I can run here in 15 minutes! On a whim, a couple of friends and I stopped by recently to give CYOC a try and I am so thrilled I finally came in to see what it’s all about.
The cheesecake here is aaaaaamazing! Imagine gelato or Cold Stone’s…but for cheesecake and that’s exactly what you get. There’s a wide variety of flavors from your original cheesecake to one of their most popular pineapple upside down cheesecake that’s truly delicious. I tried almost every flavor but cherry and white raspberry may be my favorites by a small margin. They lay down a layer of graham cracker crust and put a scoop of cheesecake over it (I do wish that the crust could be thicker though.) Then you can also opt to mix in candy or cookie toppings of your choice. Texture wise the cheesecake has a smoother and softer consistency than what you normally get at say Cheesecake Factory with a real slice. I like to take a few bites when I first order mine and then freeze the rest so that the consistency somewhat hardens. Either way, I love the cheesecake here and I think whoever came up with the concept of scooping cheesecake should be awarded because it’s an absolutely brilliant idea.
The interior looks like a small fast food joint to be honest but this is not the type of place where I’ll judge based on décor or ambiance. The staff working here seem to be really friendly people from what I’ve seen so far and I’ve also heard that their cheesesteaks are pretty good too. Will definitely have to return to check those out!
