Who turns away a customer at 10 past 8 because you closed at 8 with 2 tables still being served? Is the market here that good they can afford that? Ignore the stars i didn’t even get a drink.

Came here for lunch. No frills you will find here, however the lobster roll was really good. Nice and big whole chunks of lobster, nothing shredded, etc. We sat outside and I would have enjoyed it thoroughly if it wasn’t for the passing motorcycles and their super loud tailpipes. Nonetheless, worth the try. PS Fried calamari with banana peppers were quite good too and the marinara sauce as well, which was quite surprising. Thanks

Traveling about the area I opted for seafood and stumbled on to Jonathan’s. I ordered the clam strips and was quite happy with the meal as a whole. I would recommend eating here again.

«The batter was too thick and not browned enough. The head chef made us another couple of pieces but sadly, the damage has been done. I think the days of going to Jonathan’s are gone. It is time to look for another ‘favourite’ eating place.» While I was unable to go this year, this used to be our favorite spot to eat every summer when we went on vacation to New Hampshire. Seems like it will be changing very soon. The dishes used to be delicious but things have changed. It’s not the same

We stopped for dinner… having been going for years but this time it was bad. The oysters seemed under cooked and tasted awful. My plate of clams strips, well it looked like a good value plate but as i looked for clams turns out I had a lot of breading we will not be going back

Really good food! This has been my first time coming to Jonathon’s seafood and it will certainly not be my last! The food is great and the staff are very friendly. I got the broiled sole and it was super tasty! The sole was buttery and it melts right in your mouth and the bread crumbs on top added some good flavor. I had gotten a salad with my dinner. The house dressing that was with the salad was magnificent! It was a creamy dill dressing and it had really great and tangy flavor and this is coming from a person who doesent particularly like dressing. This is definitely a spot to hit if you’re ever in Conway!

Food was excellent. We had the Baked Haddock, Lobster bisque, fried mushrooms, and onion rings. All very good and prices were reasonable. We sat at the bar, which was better as it was a Thurs night and the place was not full at 8pm. Décor could use a little help in the dining room, but was nice.

Food was great. Best lobster roll I’ve ever had filled with a lot of lobster. Staff was great and always there when you need them. Would go again if in the area.

Really enjoyed our dinner here, seems like a favorite with the locals. Spacious, friendly, fresh seafood cooked well. We had a relaxing experience eating here. Chef walked around and was very friendly with everyone as well. You could really taste the familiar ingredients and foods cooked well. They had no trouble accomodating my gluten allergy, I even got to enjoy some soup(too many(even super fancy) places throw wheat in soup to thicken, so i always appreciate any place that has options without flour!). I’m still thinking about that fish soup with potatoes. :)

For me, great seafood is wonderful, but mediocre seafood is not worth eating. This is great seafood! We enjoyed our lunch(lobster rolls and fried haddock sandwich) so much that we went back again a few days later for dinner. From the lobster bisque to lobster scampi and a fried haddock and scallop combo, everything was very fresh and flavorful. The seared scallops in lemon cream sauce was exceptional – something like 14 perfectly cooked large, tender, scallops in a distinctive, flavorful sauce. Prices are reasonable, service was excellent. The only negative was that they only offer a few varieties of house wine. The food deserves better!

We just went there with a group of 11 for a family vacation luncheon and the food was delicious. It was not really busy so we got in right away. Everyone in the group loved their food we would definitely recommend it to everyone.

We are from out of town but had heard the lobster rolls were the best in all the New England area. I ordered the fried lobster roll because I like warm lobster. The lobster was delicious but served on a frankfurter bun? We saw the same buns at the grocery store. It was a disappointment for a $ 15 roll.

Great seafood, cheesy décor, owner came out to check on us… great experience in a tiny town!

On a recent visit to Conway, NH we went to this restaurant twice. We love seafood and found this restaurant’s offerings to be fresh and delicious. In both cases our waitress and waiter worked hard to please and provided great service. The price is right too.

This was definitely an old-people restaurant, which means it had tacky décor, and good, reasonably-priced seafood. I ordered the lobster newberg, which was a decent portion and delicious. Would definitely stop there again.

The owner of this place is a smart man. As old fashioned, outdated, and ordinary as this place is, this place is clean as a whistle, simple, and on point with its quality of fish, size of fish, size of portions, freshness, and price. The number 1 thing that attracted me to Jonathan’s is the simple fact of advertising fish market/seafood restaurant. Fish market says quality and freshness. Seeing a mature local crowd says lots as well. The look and cleanliness shows pride. It also shows that there is lots wanted to be improved by the owner. My only advice would be slow and steady wins the race. Take your time on improvements and updates. Also, it would be nice to see the chef at work from the bar. Open that kitchen up my man! We want to see what your doing back there. This place is perfect. I can see it being world renowned in the future. The baked stuffed lobster… best ive ever had.

Read the reviews and expected a lot more. Had the broiled haddock and scallop combo. The haddock was way over cooked. Haddock is supposed to be flaky not stringy like tuna. Scallops were cooked okay. A few were a bit rubbery. They were supposed to be in a garlic butter type sauce, but it had very little flavor. Very watery. My wife and mother-in-law also had broiled combos but had shrimp with theirs as well. Neither of them were impressed either. Wouldn’t go again.

Wow, where to start? The one, lukewarm bun you get, fresh out of the bag from Shaws? I ate mine, asked for another from the waitress who kept evaporating for 10 minutes at a time. I got another. Exactly one. Then came the insanely-bad, misspelled, overly-complex menu with half«Market price» prices(but they don’t put the market price at the table, so you have to pretend to go to the bathroom to glance at the prices. Real slick, Jon-boy.) They don’t do sandwiches for dinner, so forget you and your«desires». Ordered some haddock chowder, over the 11 – 12 dollar«bisques» and other chowders. You’d think this would be a homerun? Wrong. Tasted like someone spilled milk on some haddock and threw in some oyster crackers. My gf got the lobster chowder. Gag me with a spoon. Tasted like the leftover dipping sauce from your grandmothers bridge club buffet. Ordered Calimari, lightly-(and we had a conversation about it) breaded. I got cowabunga-breading that looked suspiciously pre-made. Mediocre would have been praise. It was awful. It should be called«fried squid». No tomato dipping sauce. Small, microwaved baked potato. Gf’s «stuffed seafood» was sushi-grade cooked, but not sushi-grade quality. This was still flopping around. Want some dessert? Fffffuuuuuuuuuuuunk you. Let me grab the check and blow this pop-stand. Thanks waitress for cautiously avoiding asking us if we enjoyed dinner.

I came to this place on the recommendations of the woman at the Maine information center in Fryeburg. I ordered the fried lobster claws and my friend ordered the Caeser’s salad and I also ordered the fried Calamari. My friend also had the Lobster bisque soup. An order of onion rings rounded out our dinner. The soup seemed a bit thin, the salad was pretty good, and I regretted ordering the fried lobster claws. The batter only covered up and distorted the natural flavor of the lobster. The onion rings were pretty good and the service was friendly and efficient enough. Overall decent, but the portions were on the small side. I will have to come back and order the lobster cooked differently. The cole slaw that came with the meal was not terribly tasty, but edible.
