Great customer service and coffee. Perfect for a late night latte with friends.

Seriously, this place makes The. Best. Scones.(recipe? please??) And the staff have always been welcoming and friendly every time I’ve stopped in this cozy, little joint. I’d take The Met over Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks any day!

This is a great local alternative to your Dunkin’s and Starbucks in the North Conway area. Smoothies, hot and iced coffees, chais and home made baked goods are right alongside the home made gelato and and stuffed crepes. The atmosphere is New York coffee house with several pieces of art for sale that rotate on a frequent basis. It’s quaint, but upscale, the food is great and the prices are right.

Once or twice a year, we go up to NH for the weekend, and we always have to go to the Met Coffee House. Delicious drinks and fun but cozy atmosphere.

Great service, unbelievable, DELICIOUS latte options… Wish there were another one of these in Boston. Just… Go here. Funky, artsy, eclectic style, plenty of seating, lots of local support as they sell local merch(I bought a gorgeous ceramic mug!) and fun string lights on at night.

I loved visiting this place! The atmosphere and entire feel of it inside is absolute wonderful. Both my coffee and my boyfriend’s apple cider were SOSO good. Beautiful art work all over the place, great selection of tasty hot and cold beverages to choose from, with great service to boot! The next time I am up in North Conway I will make it a point to visit!

The service here was fast and friendly, and even the long lines seemed to move quickly. Our gelato was a little lacking, but I guess that’s to be expected when you order gelato in New Hampshire instead of Italy. The pastries were excellent, and they kept well in the fridge overnight for an excellent breakfast the next day. Thanks!

Need to chill out? They serve good coffee, pastries & gelato… a place to go to if you need a break from vacation by yourself or with a friend.

During my most recent visits here, I have been disappointed with the quality of the espresso-based drinks. This place used to have consistently-excellent espresso, but not now. I heard that this café is under new ownership as of earlier this year, and it is a shame that the standards have slipped.

The Met is a staple of North Conway. Just like Zeb’s you can’t visit North Conway without going to the Met. Every time we go up(around 2 – 4 times a year to ski, and then once in the summer and fall) I make sure to stop at the Met. It’s a cute local independent coffee shop that screams independent coffee shop. They got their own style of drinks, specialized artisan mugs, cool art(make sure to check out the art!), and couches. The staff are friendly and the drinks are consistent. My only complaint is that after 4 years of going there the place has stayed the EXACT same. I mean I’m pretty sure the same drink specials on their chalk board are the same specials I looked at my first time there in 2008. Don’t get me wrong — they say never to change something that works, but c’mon now, have a little change. Just a little! I need a change, I need a surprise. Nothing too big, I like what’s already going on but just add some new drink specials. Move the art around a bit. Sell some new mug designs. ANYTHING! They carry fresh pastries but unfortunately none are vegan(add some vegan ones!) but they do carry vegan packaged cookies(Alternative Baking Company I think) so I appreciate the effort. I also wish they would up their fair trade coffee offerings.

Cute atmosphere. Amazing looking pastries and baked goods. Nice little gallery with seats up the stairs. My friends had coffees which they raved about. I had a thin mint hot chocolate which was fine. Nothing special and had the tiniest hint of an artificial taste(peppermint syrup?). I’d go again but get something different.

We made the trek from Manhattan the weekend of Labor Day and it was worth the drive. I haven’t been to North Conway in over 2 years and walking in the front door of the Met was like going home. The dark wood, the smell of the coffee and the art work, it is very eclectic and I love it! Fresh baked goods, fun staff and a big comfy chair to snuggle up in. I have so many memories of this place. It was nice to see some things never change.

After being deprived of a good cup of coffee for three days I was excited to try this coffee house in town. It was delicious! I consider myself to be a coffee snob, and this placed satisfied my taste for coffee. I tried the Day Dreamz iced and hot latte(two separate days). It was a delicious concoction of white chocolate and caramel. My parents got plain old regular coffee and said the bold roast was quite good.(Regular coffee is self-serve) My parents also got some snack food which was okay and overpriced(the treats do look yummy in the window!!) The prices are like Starbucks so don’t be sticker shocked coming in here. In the summer it’s nice to sit outside at the tables and watch people walk the streets on a sunny afternoon. Definitely worth it to sit and stay and savor the coffee whether you want to watch people on the street or sit inside with friends and admire the art work.

The thing I really liked about The Met was the artwork on the walls. All differenttypes and styes. I have only had their brewed cofee and it was really good. They had some cool espresso drinks and smoothies. You have to ask for a wifi password and it is valid for one hour. This is a nice, chill spot to do some work or chat with a friend.

I was here a couple of times during a family ski trip to Conway and had mixed experiences. The first time, I had to get the attention of the staff just to place my order and it was not busy at all. Then, the cashier proceeded to hand me an empty cup(for my coffee) and walk away. I had no idea that the coffee was self-serve(or even where it was located for that matter). Lame. The second time around was better, but I had to mix three different roasts of coffee to fill my cup. The dark & medium roasts both ran out after a couple«pumps» from the urns. It was disappointing, but at least the service was friendlier. I remember the overall experience being much better last winter when I was here. I wish they had some better options in the area(not Dunkin Donuts & Starbucks).

Coffee is ok. The décor is nice. I like that there are multiple rooms to hang out in. I’d suggest the Front Side Grind at the Eastern Slope Inn, however. Wifi isn’t free(wha?). It’s 2010 people. You get a free hour with a purchase but have to pay per minute after that or you get disconnected. Starbucks is free(all day, shit coffee), Front Side Grind is free(all day, great coffee). I understand you don’t want people sitting around all day not buying anything but come on… you’re a coffee house. Remote workers depend on you and want to support you because you’re local. I’m at freaking starbucks… also, tables were kinda sticky.

You wouldn’t believe how excited I was to spot a local coffee shop a couple hours ago while passing thru Conway. Or how excited I was to see that it rated 4 stars on Unilocal.Or how seriously bummed out I was when I walked inside and was met with an strong smell. I won’t try to describe what the smell was – actually it was a bit hard to tell, But it drove me right back outside. Plenty of people inside, however, so maybe it was just me. Please try the coffee and let me know how it is.

The rory bourealis was delicious, as was the tuxedo hot chocolate(really good). I think some of the latte’s are a bit too sweet, but overall great stuff. By far the best coffee around. Coffee cake and muffin were excellent as well. Def worth a stop!

Dear Metropolitan Coffee House, I found you on Unilocal… Drove all the way to North Conway from Bretton Woods, just to experience your coffee. It was worth it! Sincerely, barespice
