A Great place. I stopped by in Mid-March this year. The snowboard season was winding down. They appeared closed as i walk in. I was trying to get the boa system in my snowboard boots fixed because I broke a cable earlier that day. The 2 guys there were able to fix it in a bit over 20 minutes. Because of them i was able to continue boarding at Gore Mtn for the rest of the weekend. I highly recommend them.

This is an old time ski shop that’s been around for a long time serving the Gore Mountain area in upstate NY. I’m glad to frequent a local business. I have not made any major equipment purchases here, though their selection is decent and prices are pretty standard. We usually rent ski & snowboards for the kids and newbies in the group for the weekend and the prices are better than at the mountain. And if there is a new fangled gimmicky ski gear, I’ll usually pick it up and they have lots of that. There is also a full repair shop if you need a quick grind, wax and edge sharpening. A couple of cool things to note about Cunningham’s. They have a full kitchen in the back, so in the afternoons, they cook up a snack for people returning equipment after a long day of skiing. One day it was swedish meatballs and another day it was nachos with gooey cheese & jalapenos. Mmmm, way to take care of your customers! The other cool thing is that they have the friendliest Labrador Retriever I have ever met. His name is Niko. He is probably pretty old, but he walks around the store greeting all the customers, looking for a pat on the head or scratch behind the ears and all the kids love him! There was also a Cunningham’s Ski Barn that serviced Ascutney in Vermont, but not sure if it’s the same company. Ascutney has since closed its ski operations, so I assume the ski rental business there disappeared also. Now the only 2 Cunningham’s left are here and at Whiteface. Just be careful when you come off or exit onto Rt 28 if it is snowy or icy. There is a downgrade into the parking lot and getting out is tricky if you have to stop at the top to check for traffic or if someone is pulling out when you’re pulling in.
