Dermatology of Cape Cod

If, in a health care provider, you are searching for people who care NOT about you, or the condition you are suffering from, but rather the method of payment, then this is the place for you ! I had been a patient here for almost ten years, when they decided they no longer wanted to take patients who did not have health insurance. I had paid for all my visits with a check at time of visit. I would have gladly used cash, if that had been their desire. I was told by «liz» the office manager, they had people ordering tests that were expensive, and never come back and paid for. I explained my visits required nothing more than a NURSE PRACTIONER, (not even a doctor) to examine me, to make sure of no underlying infections, and write me a script. Period. And that their policy was theirs to make, but that I had been a patient for years, and should not be subject to this new ruling. And if I had needed expensive tests, (I did not) I would have gladly paid for them up front. All my checks were fine, and they had never had a problem with me. Her indignant response at the time was to «Go find a walk in clinic.» Seriously. I have owned my own small business. Im all about running it the way you see fit, and customers have a choice, and can go elsewhere if they like. But these people are in the HEALTHCARE industry. People are supposed to be the main focus, and CARE to those people job #1. The first question out of their receptionist‘s mouth, (should you call) will be «WHAT KIND OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU HAVE?» Not «What do you need to see the doctor (er…nurse practitioner) for? I highly recommend seeking dermatologists who care for their patients well being as their FIRST priority. This is NOT that place. At this place, who your HMO is, is of MUCH MORE importance, than whatever you are suffering from, despite any history of being treated by them. They suck.
