Stopped by with my nephew this afternoon. The bartenders, though very friendly and helpful, were not exactly on their game. Ordered the Bullet Cider and saw them use the whiskey on special instead. There was a conversation across the bar about another drink mistake. Having said that the beer selection was excellent and the place was immaculate inside. The food was pretty good, I had the blackened chicken sandwich. My bun was a little greasy but the chicken was cooked and seasoned very well. The side of fries was near perfection. We had started with the Blarney Puffs, they were very good. Long story short, I think they are still figuring things out, but I’ll give them another try.

The overall experience was subpar. The hostess was the best part of the night. We had a drink and dinner at the bar. The bartender was standing directly in front if us when we arrived and did not acknowledge us. My martini was not well made. I asked for a couple drops of vermouth, he asked if I wanted it dry, I said yes and there was no vermouth added. For dinner we each ordered the mac and cheese with chicken. Neither of us could find any cheese. It was oily overcooked pasta with a dry chicken breast on top. We tried it and were sorely disappointed.

We have eaten about 8 times at the Barley House in North Hampton. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is excellent. However(with the exception of twice) the service was horrible. Most of the servers we have had make it obvious they don’t want to be there. The one woman didn’t even say hello… just stared at us for us to give our order. Like I said…2 servers we have had there are excellent… the others… could use some hospitality training. I’m writing this because it’s a great restaurant and I want it to thrive. Everything is great but management might want to do some more training with the wait staff.

What a great find. We stopped in on a whim and were tickled with the Barley House. We had a great burger with caramelized onions, feta, bacon(house cured) and freshly ground Angus beef and a house made dill pickle. The French fries were beautifully cooked — crisp on the outside and soft inside, properly twice fried. Also a great mac n’ cheese n’ chicken dish with a Guinness based cheese sauce. Portions were generous and beautifully presented. Our server, Vicky, had a great personality and was knowledgeable of the menu and specials and very attentive to us without being intrusive. The beer selection is really well balanced with a solid selection on tap and in bottles. The food, service and atmosphere is great and laid back. Great for a relaxed local meal. We’ll be back for sure.

Good food, clean establishment. Hope this place stays– location has been known to go through a lot of restraints due to the underground septic issues with the building.

High ceilings, but still a warm and inviting feeling. Nice looking bar area. Service was good. Food ok. Burgers were good. Rolls could have been better. Kids had Mac and cheese(which was very buttery, but good) and chicken fingers(burnt). Nice beer menu, but it seems like most of the places in NH do. Will give it another go.

Excellent beer selection — try the nitro if you are into porters. Great vibe. kind of a «high end Irish pub» feel — a lot of great whiskies and scotches available. Staff is attentive and fast, our waiter was hilarious & made great recommendations. Food came out quickly and piping hot — my wife got the chicken pot pie and I got the Guinness beef stew… TRYTHEGUINNESSSTEW — it’s amazing!!!

Very friendly and prompt service. Loved the complimentary homemade hummus. The barnyard burger was fantastic and the fries were great and not greasy. Will certainly be back again. Loved how the manager came by to check on us. Nice touch! Thank you!

I was interested in trying the Barley House as they’re new and I do love traditional Irish food. The beer selection is great, as is the mixed drinks selection. I really recommend their Dark and Stormy drink. The menu is good but more American pub fare rather than Irish offerings. I went with the Guinness Beef Stew and my friend went with the mushroom ravioli. We also ordered a side of grilled brussel sprouts. The food came quickly but they forgot our side. We eventually got it after the meal. I liked the stew but it wasn’t that flavorful. I switched with my friend and loved his ravioli dish. The servings were not huge for the price which is a good thing and a bad thing if you really love the meal. The brussel sprouts were just okay. They were packed into a metal cup and hard to share. I could taste them for hours after I ate them and wouldn’t order that again. We’d definitely go back. I think the menu online is more varied so I assume they are adding new items.

Great atmosphere! This place is one of my favorites in Concord and when I heard they opened another location in North Hampton I was pumped! The food is great. They have great beer and wine selection and the food is delish! The hummus you get at the table is to die for. The hostess was very friendly. I highly recommend this place and will be back often!

Very disappointed. Wanted to give this new place in the NH Seacoast area a try. Called to make a reservation for 6 people since it’s the weekend before Christmas and many people are sure to be out. They would not take my reservation although they had the space available. I will not give my business to places that have low customer centricity like this and will steer people away wherever I can. This place won’t last.

Pleasant atmosphere and service, but the menu selection is small and it can be pricey. The beer selection is terrific. I had a burger and it was only ok(BRGR Bar & Raw 34 much better) and my husband had chicken tenders and the cobb salad. He enjoyed both, so I would advise sticking to beers and apps. The hummus is wicked garlicky!

We live walking distance from this place. I was SO excited for it to open. But after 3 visits, and three mediocre experiences, I see no reason to return. This is the place that people refer to when they make fun of New Hampshire cuisine. Boring, greasy, overpriced. Our last server seemed stoned. Management seems uninterested in customer service and feedback.

The menu on website had quite a few more items than what has actually on the menu when we arrived. They are just opening so I can forgive that for now… The BBQPULLEDPORK sandwich my wife had was quite good. The BLACKENEDCHICKENSANDWICH I had was dry and needed more mayo… The fries — good put nothing special. Good selection of beer on tap. I’ll try them again after they have been open for a while.

After eating at their Concord location I couldn’t wait for the new place to open. We went a few days after the soft opening. Very friendly hostess and wait staff. Garlic sticks and pretzels were a good start. Had the cheeseburger which was excellent tasted like it just came off the barbecue. Ordered medium well and it was cooked perfectly. Big and juicy! The fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. No room left for desert but have had the chocolate cake at the Concord location and it was just amazing. Been there twice in just a week. Cannot wait to go back again and again.

I have been here an hour so far and am not impressed!!! Every table around us received pretzel sticks and some kind of dip, not us. When the waitress brought our drinks she spilled mine on the table and said she’d be right back with napkins… she never brought any, I had to ask people at a neighboring table if they had any spare ones. There was no silverware or napkins on the table and still no food!!! Have my 7 year old daughter with me and she is super bored and very hungry! About ready to walk out right now! The item I wanted to order, they are out of… the food better be stupendous to make up for the joke it’s been in here so far!!! We waited a total of an hour and a half and left. I’ve never walked out of a restaurant before, and I will never be back!

I preface this review by saying that I am not a beer fan, but was excited to try The Barley House after reading rave reviews of their Concord location and their menu. We did something we don’t normally do, dine after a restaurant has just opened(3 days after in this case). The hummus and snacks they serve when you sit down are very good and my Pomegranate Martini was decent. I had high hopes after that, but it was a bit downhill after. The Blarney Puffs were pretty tasteless… mostly doughy wrapper and very little, tasteless filling. The dipping sauce was very good although, even that could have used a little more flavor. The basic burger was good, but we’ve had better. My Portabello Panini was not only cold, but weird. Again, no flavor and just an odd combination of tasteless flavors and textures. The service was very good and everyone was friendly. I do wish them well, especially considering that restaurants in this location never succeed, but the food needs to be refined a bit more.

The Barley House opened in North Hampton last night(Thurs 11/12/2015) located in the Lafayette Crossing shopping center(Shaw’s/Marshalls/LL Bean Outlet) on US1. I’ve been to the Concord Barley House several times for food and drinks. The Dublin Burger with fries is very good! I had some dinner at the new Barley House in North Hampton tonight. I got here around 5:00PM just before the dinner rush. I decided to sit in the dining room in a booth which was not busy yet. The atmosphere is very casual and family friendly like the Concord location. The bar area is in the center back portion of the restaurant, surrounded by the dining room(with booths & tables) on three sides of the bar area. The bar offers around 20 beers on tap, plus liquor and wine. There is high seats at the bar and two flatscreen TVs above the bar and one flatscreen TV at the far end of the bar area. The flooring is solid wood. The menu offers mostly American pub fare including burgers, sandwiches, dinner entrees, salads, soups, and appetizers with a good beer selection. My friendly waiter came over promptly take my drink order and gave me breadsticks with a white bean paste dip, very good munchies! I started out with a pint of Barley House 10yr($ 5.50). For dinner, the Black Bean Burger($ 8) with fries and dill pickle spear was very good. The Burger Patty was very soft and moist consisting of a mix of black bean, sweet potato, red pepper, chipotle pepper, garlic, tortilla, with lettuce & tomato topped with avocado sour cream on a toasted sesame bun. The fries were salted, hot & crisp and soft inside. For dessert, the Brownie Sundae($ 7) had pieces of soft chocolate cake Brownie, chocolate sauce, a hard scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, topped with whipped cream in a sundae glass, a good ending to my meal, enjoyed best with the Barley House 10yr. Overall, good food, drinks, and attentive service
