Seriously good pizza in North Haven. The crust is thin and close to new haven style pizza. The price is also great. Our last order was four med and large pizzas with at least two toppings on all but one and it came to $ 70, not bad at all.

A little common courtesy to say how long the wait would be to be served our dinner. The wait has been over 45 minutes and no waitress has even come over for a drink refill. I can’t say that I would come back just because of the extremely long wait and slow service.

Delivery was 2hrs in arriving. Then a sandwich was missing when it did arrive. I had company and I was very embarrassed. You think they would have waived the cost of the order.

Rating with one star because Unilocal won’t allow me to post without giving at least one star. This star was not earned. I have no comment on quality of food, as the young woman who answered the phone gave this abrupt reply when asked whether I was located inside their delivery area. «Nope, don’t think so». Well, that’s rather unfortunate for my potential business, which she just lost tonight and in the future, that she couldn’t check to be absolutely sure.

if your hungry for a good grinder, then don’t stop here my sand which had about a pound of lettuce in it with 2 pieces of ham and 2 pieces of salami expensive salad as far as I’m concerned

Pizza is good here sometimes even great but lately the customer service is so bad I would rather eat frozen. My latest and probably last trip to Luigi’s was an order of 2 pies and order of wings. When I got the order home we discovered the Blue cheese dressing was bad. It smelled like yeast and had separated! So thinking the restaurant cared, I called. Not to get a refund or credit but just to let them know. Of course I was met with a bad attitude and the comment«THATDRESSINGWASJUSTMADE2DAYSAGO» ! Who needs that in a town where there are many good pizza places that would welcome our business. Luigi’s is no longer our favorite.

I went to Luigis last night with a friend and I’m always amazed by the variety of menu items. We arrived at around. 8:15 and they close at 9. Any place that has a separate binder of pizzas from their menu intrigues me. The atmosphere is fun with a working jukebox and 50s feel. We ordered sweet potato fries as an appetizer which were very good and came out fast. We then ordered a small chicken and cheese pizza and a small lasagna. Everything was good and we had a good amount to take home. Service was friendly and no one rushed us even though it was close to closing. I would definitely go back.

This place makes an eggplant parmesan sub close to perfect, just about one of the best I’ve had. Thinly sliced eggplant, lightly breaded and fried. Can’t really speak for the pizza, Luigi’s was just a random spot I stopped by in a bind. The grinder came out super fast, probubly less than 10 mins. The service was fine, no complaints. No one was rude to me at all. I would go back again.

The customer service here has been terrible in the last year and the pizza quality is always inconsistent. Without giving specific details, I can tell you that I’ve seen the rude, mid 50ish woman behind the counter snap at polite customers too many times. She always has a sarcastic, classless comment to make. Fortunately I’ve never been the target, but seeing it happen too many times to other people in the short time when I’ve been waiting for a To Go order is enough to deter me from ever giving this place my service. The customer is not always right, but you cannot be disrespectful and you must be professional.

I can’t get into this place. I’ve tried it quite a few times, I’ve tried a lot of different things on their menu, and meh. Everything I’ve had from pizza, to salads, to grinders have all been wicked salty. The pizza is pretty greasy, but the crust is really tasty. I don’t know, everyone else seems to love it, but I just don’t.

What a difference a year makes. I’ve ordered pizza twice here in the last 60 days, once by delivery and the other by pickup. Both times, I was extremely disappointed. The pizza was poorly made. The sauce tasted like it came straight from a food service can. It was very heavily topped. When I asked for delivery, I was told there would be a one-and-a-half-hour wait. Sad to say that I’ll be avoiding Liugi’s for now.

Gotta love the people who say«As a new yorker, I know and love my pizza.» Good for you. Below is a cookie for you. Too bad Montgomery is about as New York as northern Vermont. If you truly know anything about pizza then you know about New Haven’s storied history regarding pizza. And it shouldn’t surprise you that Luigi’s has pizza street cred dating back 60 years that many new york joints would die for. Yes, the current owner’s father opened the original Luigi’s Apizza in New Haven in the 1950’s, a time when pizza was basically unknown to most of the country. However it was popular among local Italian Americans, and in fact it was so popular they gave it a special name. Apizza means pizza. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s no different than midwesterners referring to soda as pop. Contrary to what some think, apizza is not any particular style of pizza, even though pizza in this part of the state does have some nuances compared to other parts of the country. If you don’t believe me, just ask my 90 year old Italian grandmother. She refers to all pizza as apizza, including Pizza Hut pizza. The pizza from Luigi’s is excellent. North Haveners have a tough choice when it comes to pizza. Do you choose Luigi’s or Grand Apizza? Either one, you can’t lose. They’re both equally excellent in my opinion.

What a treat! As a new yorker, I know and love my pizza. My friend and I stopped here by chance when traveling and ordered the large prosciutto and roasted red pepper pizza. I couldn’t wait to get to the end of the slice to the chewy, obviously hand pulled bubbly crust. It was rather large, so brought home the rest, and remarkably even better cold! I rarely write reviews, but figured it was warranted as I happily scarf down the last piece, typing one-handed. Thanks luigi’s for feeding me for days!

If I’m ever having a night when I want to sit home, watch a movie, and eat some bacon pizza, I order from here. All of their pizza is delicious and their specials are adventurous but tasty. Their other entrees are good as well, I recommend their fried calamari.

Great meat eaters pizza… and the salad was perfect. My orders were delivery only so I have not been in the establishment… however, the owner answers your call, even calls you back to confirm delivery… I am a fan, and you will be also.

Luigi’s does indeed make some of the best pizza around. Their sauce and crust is very tasty, which makes just about any topping you order that much better. The reason for the 3 stars is the service here is very spotty. I’ve often been unattended to while waiting for a table. I’ve also been told an hour and a half wait for take-out before. I’ve never heard of a take out wait that long at any other pizza place, New Haven sites included. However, the pizza is certainly the best North Haven has to offer, as well as some of the surrounding towns not named New Haven.

The pizza is probably the best in North Haven and the most expensive. Initially we didn’t like the place, not sure why, but it grew on us quickly. Glad we gave it a second try. The wait staff gives very good service and the place is very clean. We visit when we are in the mood to treat ourselves.

Stopped here while driving from NYC to Boston one afternoon a couple of years ago and had a fabulous«New Haven-style» Apizza. Swore we’d come back some time, so — after searching on Google Maps — finally found the place. This time we arrived at Luigi’s just after 6 on a Friday night and the place was hopping! The entrance area was packed with people waiting for tables and for take-out(a)pizza, the team of pizza bakers was working non-stop. They take their apizza seriously in the New Haven area and I overheard people saying that Luigi’s is among the best in the area. At one point there were about 20 pizzas in the ovens! We had to wait about half hour for a table and then another 30 – 40 minutes for our pizza, but it was worth it. Crisp crust, just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Really, really good. Otherwise, Luigi’s is a pretty modest place in a strip mall. Retro décor, with 50 – 60 photos on the walls and an old jukebox full of 45s. We didn’t try any pasta or other entries. Dinner salad was very basic. Service was earnest. All in all, a great family place to stop between NYC and Boston.
