I needed transportation from Griffin Hospital to home in Seymour. The ER doctor called Access Ambulance Service(which is also Nelson Ambulance Service, and Connecticut Handivan). This is a well-managed company because the van arrived promptly and provided a wheelchair for me. The van was spotless inside and out because it’s the driver’s responsibility to wash and clean it at every work day’s end. Plus, the driver(Gary) demonstrated complete attention to my safety. He securely lashed all four cables to my wheelchair, observed all speed limits, and showed he was an expert at defensive, cautious driving. More than that — he patiently wheeled me up to my apartment so that I could transfer to my own wheelchair. Gary surely shows ability to train new drivers on matters of safety, serving with care, courtesy, and compassion. Gary made sure I was safe at home.
