As we found out the hard way, it’s only open during warmer weather. We drove by this place in the Fall(late October), and it was closed. ** note: I think it’s unfair to have to put a star rating, since I didn’t actually get to eat/drink here.

Pretty much the only place in North Hero except for the Hero House, so there are a good amount of people in the area. Food is standard, drinks are OK(strong though!) A little off the beaten path, but if you’re in the region, its the place to stop by for a drink.

The food alone wouldn’t bring me back but the full Tiki Bar experience would. Don’t expect anything healthy here but the bar food is tasty. It’s out of the way(which maybe lends to the experience) but Google Maps had no problem getting me here. My wife, 6yo son and I came here on a Monday afternoon in late August, around 2pm, 87deg F, mostly sunny with white puffy clouds, light breeze… aaaaaah…felt just like Key West. We pulled into the marina parking lot and there was no signage for the restaurant but the outdoor bar I saw on the side drew us around to the back(actually, front) of the building. The entrance faces the water, catering to the members getting off their boats. We sat at the bar, the only people in the place, with Blaise(sp?) tending bar and serving us. Blaise was a very friendly, happy guy, a perfect bartender in Margaritaville. Beer and cocktails are their racket but they managed a Pinot Grigio for my wife. I had one of their 6 beers on tap, 3 of which were local. Nice and cold, so I had another :-) For food my wife had a chicken quesadilla, which was big(too big?), cheesy, and grilled just right. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was surprisingly good, nothing out of this world but they managed to put the right amount of bbq sauce on so that the sandwich wasn’t overwhelmed, which is something I can’t say for most other places. And my son got the hot dog which was jumbo sized and very good as hot dogs go. All came with a side of fries which were great, clearly made from scratch. Shortly after we arrived a group of 4 guys showed up for drinks and food. They were happy with their drinks and raved about the Crab Tumblers(deep fried, ball-shaped things), so much so that I almost ordered it just to try it, even though I was full. We were so relaxed there that we lingered for a while even though(or maybe because) we had a 5-hour drive ahead of us. All seating was outside so I doubt they serve food when it rains. But if it’s a warm, sunny, breezy day, I suggest you head over there and grab a seat at the bar or one of their small tables under umbrellas. Tell Blaise I said Hi.

Don’t base your opinion on looks alone. This has been the best place within 10mi. Food is the standard bar food that has been churched up. This is a must stop and have a drink. Cheers

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Drive along beautiful lake Champlain and then down a dirt road to the marina. Its a laid back old house on the water with a small tiki bar and a pool(members only in the water, sorry!) The chef was cooking on an outdoor grill. It kind of felt like you were walking in on someones backyard barbecue, and I’ll be honest, I was not going to stay. But, we had already gotten my 86 year old mother in law up the steps and sat down outside on the deck in the shade of the umbrella. So we in our mismatched chairs and wobbly table and decided to give it a shot. The waitress was attentive and sweet, and the service was quick, and the beer was cold. My wife and I ordered salads and the kids and MIL got sandwiches, wings and burgers– all were prepared fresh and were very good. No frills at all– but its part of the charm. I’d go again.
