They advertise their hours 9:30am –10pm… which is why I was very confused when my family and I rolled up at 8:30pm and the restaurant was closed. I mean normally when a business advertises they are open until a specific time they typically stay open until that time. Thank God Adalbertos on A st is open 24 hrs and in my opinion their food is way better then jimboys anyway. So if you want to pay a bunch of money and take a gamble if they will be open or not then this is the place for you…

Ok. Quick service and food was hot but $ 17:00 for a steak burrito, 2 taco and soda. Not worth it… Bummer, heard it was worth the drive

This location SUCKS. It’s owned by the same guy who owns the locations on Antelope Road in Antelope and on Watt in North Highlands. The owner is greedy. He does not accept coupons that corporate emails to you. Get a buy one get one coupon? Forget it, they won’t accept it! Get a BIRTHDAY coupon? Forget it, they won’t accept it. Get a Taco Tuesdays email from corporate? Forget it, they won’t accept it! Not only that. When they DO run a special, which is rarely, the idiots at the counter will not let you substitute a bean taco or a bean burrito for the meat one that is advertised! How can anyone be this stupid? The bean taco is cheaper than the beef taco and they won’t let you have that instead??? This means that they do not care if you’re a vegetarian. If you are, then no special for you. Idiots. Absolute idiots.

Meh. Okay Jimboy’s. It’s pretty ghetto. The drive-thru and parking lot are pretty trashed. The drive-thru is set up in a funky way and when you pull up to the window it’s an actual window… like a kitchen window bought from Home Depot caulked into the hole in the wall. The employees aren’t the friendliest, but whatever. The food is just meh also. Some things, like a quesadilla, you cant go wrong with. But Jimboy’s is known for their tacos… and this Jimboy’s tacos are funky like the rest of the place. Instead of shredded cheese, I think they lay some chunks of Kraft Singles on there. ;(It ruins the taco, for me, and just isn’t a Jimboy’s taco! Also, the prices are a bit high… Jimboy’s isn’t the cheapest place to eat, but this one in particular seems to be more overpriced. I end up going here because it’s close to my house, but I always stick with a beef quesadilla. Can’t mess with the tacos. :(

I would definitely put this place in the«don’t judge a book by its cover» category. Before heading for a Tahoe retreat, a buddy recommended that we stop off at Jimboy’s Tacos for lunch. My friend(who also happens to be a rock musician) said that he and his band mates have been eating there for years when ever they had a gig up in Sacramento. When we pulled off the freeway and pulled in to the JimBoy’s Tacos parking lot, I’m not going to lie… the place looked a bit sketchy. In fact, it looked like an old, run-down McDonald’s or KFC. This was not the famous taqueria that I had in mind. The interior of the place was even more questionable. I was almost tempted to walk out and drive to another place. I’m SO glad I didn’t. I ordered a few tacos(shredded chicken and steak) and a bottled water. The whole thing cost me a little over $ 7. And within a few minutes, I was presented with some of the tastiest tacos I’ve had in a LONG time. I mean these tacos were damn good. Both the chicken and the meat were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The parmesan crusted grilled corn tortillas were both crisp and chewy, unlike any tortilla I’ve ever had. Each taco was topped with a generous helping of lettuce and Monterey Jack cheese. Jimboy’s also has a salsa bar with many fresh selections. Each salsa I sampled gave my taco that extra kick. My tacos were SO good, in fact, that I almost got up to order a third taco before I even finished my first one. Fortunately, my better judgement prevailed and I decided against it. As I drove off in my car, I happily realized that those two tacos hit the spot. Anything more would have taken me over the edge. The moral of this review — don’t judge a book by its cover. AND always listen to your rock star friends. They’re rock stars for a reason.

~*~Perfect greasy tacos in the middle of no where~*~ Beef Tacos for $ 1.29 on Tuesday. Greasy deliciousness. Soda required. Churros for dessert are a little crunchy but satisfying none the less. So worth the minor detour from Tahoe to Bay Area. Highly Recommend.

Their menu is ok. They are located near my house. Customer service is poor but look where you are and the location of the place. I have never had worse customer service than this location, to the point I refuse to go here and would rather drive or walk farther

I love their combo burrito combo which comes with a ground beef burrito, salad, rice, beans, and a taco. I also love their ground beef tacos. I like their shredded beef tacos and combo burrito too. They have a salsa bar and I love the chipotle medium salsa.

Jimboy’s is the ULTIMATE grub hall. I don’t know one person that doesn’t have a love affair with the tacos at this place. They are greasy, full of tasty ground beef and covered with a powdered cheese substance. The closest Jimboy’s to me is 2 hours away. I have to be appreciative of that or else I would eat there daily and be as big as a house. There are 2 locations right off I-80 in Auburn if you are heading to the snow and need a great pick me up. You will thank me.

The WORST(customer service) I love Jimboy’s Tacos, don’t get me wrong but THIS Jimboy’s Tacos made me stop wanting to go. At other Jimboys tacos sure the Mexicans are the ones employed and although some staff can sometimes be(especially the women) quite rude I don’t give a damn piss ant what fast food workers think about me. However, Incompetence is one thing I CANNOT tolerate. I barely go to Mcdonalds because of the bad quality food and service but even they did not give me much hassle at this and as wonderful tasting tacos Jimboys provides, I will not spend my money to support wastrels. As a half-korean I really don’t mind broken English but not understanding English??? I went to this particular Jimboy’s tacos this Spring semester because it was on the way home and it was the biggest mistake ever. First the lady had trouble taking my order, then she gave my order to the WRONG person and I got his chicken taco. When I tried explaining this to her she kept just saying chicken taco, you want chicken taco. Finally the guy who accidentally got my order told me that was his and he told me he hadn’t touched my beef taco so I took it even though I felt like asking for a new one because I knew that I would have to suffer through another fruitless conversation. A part of me is so galled that I hope that they were just pretending to be idiots(ha!). I’m a picky eater and I’m also picky about where my money goes. I stopped eating Chipotle(they are great) after having a flu virus(and throwing it up) because of taste aversion conditioning but this one I’m now averse due to poor customer service. If I want a burrito or taco now I’m just going to have to make my own. P. S And the taco was cold.

While this isn’t my favorite Jimboy’s Tacos, it is pretty damn good! I’ve been going to their different locations for 12+ years now, and the quality still hasn’t declined. Their tacos are hands down some of the best in Sac. Another thing that makes this place awesome is the unlimited salsa bar, and the fact that they have Mr. Pibb on the soda fountain. Whenever I hit up a location I typically get the Chicken Taco Salad minus the Guac, and tons of their hot salsa. Last time I went they accidentally gave me a ground beef taco salad, but once I brought it to their attention it was promptly corrected.

I’d been racking my brain trying to decide which business to give my coveted 100th review to and after a visit to this Jimboy’s over the weekend I knew there could be no other choice. I grew up mere blocks from this little Mexican joint, and many, many childhood memories were made here. To this day, I get a little nostalgic every time I come here(which tends to be almost every time I visit my mom). Over the years I’ve had just about everything on the menu, and I can honestly say I have NEVER been disappointed in the food. People from outside the area can never really understand how amazing Jimboy’s tacos are until I’ve brought them here, and living in the bay area now I have had to learn to recreate those tasty little buggers. They’re not the same when made at home. The Jimboy’s chicken taco is a thing of true beauty, and cannot be duplicated. Other great choices are the taco salad, super nachos, and veggie burrito. They also make a mean enchilada! Their beans are lard-free, which is nice for vegetarians craving some delicious(and guilt free!) Mexican grub. Sam S loves the salsa bar, and the Jimboy’s taco sauce goes well with just about everything. This place is a true throwback, and really hasn’t changed at all since I was in 5th grade and my mom began allowing us to walk over after school. Many epic battles have been had on that old PacMan machine, and many tasty tacos devoured in those sqeaky red booths. As I’ve gotton older, I’ve come to appreciate the family-run aspects of this small chain, and though the prices have risen since the days of my youth, nothing could keep me from coming back again and again. It may not be the fanciest place, but Jimboy’s is unique, it’s real, and they hard working women who have served me so many meals over the years deserve nothing more than your appreciation(and business). Bottom line: Go here. Eat a taco. Wonder why you’ve never eaten this glorious little piece of heaven before. Return often.

I will NEVER come back to this Jims. Why? A couple of things. 1. The sign says«Drive Thru», and at first my boyfriend and I thought it was a joke because we didn’t see it. Come to find out, the drive thru is in an entirely different parking lot. So we had to pull out of the restaurant parking lot and into the drive thru parking lot. How annoying! 2. The drive thru is pretty compact, so be prepared to navigate a few tight corners. If you’re driving a big tank of a car, it might not be such a good idea. 3. The speaker is down below the menu which was hard to hear. The woman taking our order zoomed through it and didn’t even tell us our order total until we got up to the window. 4. The same woman had to ask us what kind of drinks we wanted(again), and then handed us our food and shut the window without so much as a «Have a nice day!» — which usually lets us know that we’ve been given all of our food. We ordered a few things, so we weren’t sure if it was all in one bag or if she was going to hand us another. After sitting there for a minute, we checked our bag, found everything thrown inside, and pulled off. Needless to say, this is a pretty GHETTO Jimboys with horrible service.

Jimboy’s brings back fond memories of my childhood and when asked about what is great in Sacramento… Jimboy’s is one of the first things that pops to mind. I’m a huge fan of mexican food and this hits the spot every time. In my entire life i’ve never had a taco that was better than a jimboy’s taco. I’m also a huge fan of the green salsa in their salsa bars, it’s quite tasty. Their nachos are also quite superior, i recommend ordering them with guacamole and then adding onions and peppers from the salsa bar. Their bean burritos are so simple and delicious. Their vegetables are always fresh. A lot of people complain that it’s too greasy but i disagree, it’s not nasty grease like most fastfood places and it gives all the tortillas a satisfying crunch to it that you don’t get from taco bell or del taco. The best part about Jimboy’s is that their beans are lard free, so they are vegetarian friendly(and better on your waistline) they’ll substitute any meat in the menu items for beans(and cut the price down too.)
