Ordered the #1 with beans and slaw and added a couple of links to go. What a treat it was. Moist savory tender very well made. I will be back next time for the brisket. I do want to try the sweet potato pie too.

Everything you want in a quick BBQ spot. Good food. Good portions. Good prices. The owners were very nice as well.

Stopped in to get some dinner. I’ve been driving by for years and never stopped; today was the day. It is absolutely the best! The meat falls off of the bone, the beans are great, the coleslaw is awesome, and rolls are good too! Compared to other BBQ restaurants we’ve patronized, this one is very reasonably priced and the best we’ve had. Will definitely go back.

My husband and I tried this place on this lovely Saturday evening. DAMN this place is the bomb! Huge portions, great customer service and lots of bar-b-que sauce! The mac salad and bbq beans also have two thumbs up from me. This place is not for the weak or shy. Definitely not a first date spot but bring her on date #2 and see if she is willing to get sauce on her face. If she is a mess by the end of dinner, she’s a keeper!

Ordered just ribs(8 piece) I don’t think they were actually grilled or smoked. Maybe baked or boiled then maybe a quick sear on a grill if at all then covered in a so so BBQ sauce. I did hear a microwave door and buttons being pushed. No flavor in the meat and the ribs fell apart as if they had been steamed or boiled all day.

I came back for 4th of July and I enjoyed the food and the customer service. Food was delicious and I recommend this place to anyone who loves BBQ.

Was not expecting this spot to be anything special, but talk about a diamond in the rough! The restaurant was super clean and the food was so delicious! We came here because I wanted bbq and my husband didn’t want me to cook after a day at the park on Mother’s Day. We were very much impressed with the quality of the food and the taste was simply perfection… probably the closest thing to Texas bbq I’ve had in California. I definitely recommend checking out this restaurant and you will be pleasantly surprised by the food… and like us wondering why in the world it took us so long to try it… living only 15 minutes away! It may not appear to be a five star restaurant from the outside and area, but don’t judge a book by its cover… the food is top notch and the owner is a class act!

The beef was so tender it fell apart. The pork was excellent and had a nice skin. The macaroni salad was a little off though. I’d definitely eat there again!

Ordered the rib lunch. Meat was tender, but lacked flavor even with the sauce on it. The potatoe salad was also without flavor. Beans were ok. Service was good.

Smelled like BBQ when we walked in. But sure my link was microwaved. Yes I heard the door & buttons. 1 rib the chicken has no grill marks or any kind of smoke at all. Come on BBQ? Buy a Webber and finish/grill the meat, even just to finish. I don’t mind a little dirty, if the BBQ is good. Kind of goes hand in hand. But not here.

It might look like a little hole in the wall but dont let the looks fool you. The owner was very sweet and the potions were a great size for the price. The ribs were great and so was the garlic mashed potatoes. We will definitely be returning!

I was misled by reviews that were positive. We came here for lunch, hoping for sweet potato pie. At 11:30 am they were out for the day. There was a can of bug spray sitting on the counter by the ice and pop machine. The beans and cole slaw had a funny taste. The ketsup bottle had about an inch of water on the top… maybe to make it go further? We didn’t risk it. The chicken was dry. The ribs, french fries, and potato salad were ok. Corn bread was not an option for a side. You had to pay 75 cents for an average size piece of corn bread. The corn bread was pretty good. After seeing the cleanliness, the bug spray, and how the ketsup was presented, I just hope we didn’t catch anything.

I can’t believe the Depratment of Health has not closed this place down yet??? So, back in the 1980’s, early 1990’s, this place was the BOMB! My family would order ribs from this place for our back yard barbecues in the spring and summer. I just remember everything here being really good!!! Fast forward 20 years to a new owner and things are not so good. Sauce is not cooked on the meat, it’s just dumped on after the fact. Meat was under cooked, sides are cold, and the man at the counter seems to be, well, I think he may not have been raised with barbecue… maybe he thought this was a turn-key type business… like a gas station or a carwash… or something? I would advise if you order ANYTHING here, take it home and finish cooking it!!!

I had a great experience here. The one and only gentleman was kind and the food was great. I will go back there again :-). Only strange thing was it was dead and around noon on a Saturday. Must be the demographics. Idk

Very hole in the wall type of place. Kinda dusty could use a good cleaning, but maybe that’s what makes the food so good. I had the rib lunch, price reasonable food excellent. Will definitely be going back!

This place is weird and the food is horrible! It is not seasoned at all and 10 minutes after leaving I had a very bad stomach ache. Please go elsewhere for BBQ this place should close it’s doors, I was wondering why there were only 2 people in there during lunch time at 1pm in the afternoon.

I was all right, that is about it. If your around the area and want BBQ, do it, but don’t go out of your way for this.

Two and a half stars. The ribs were ok, hot link was fine but the chicken was mushy & I couldn’t finish it. Soda cups were small and filled with ice(although the sodas are refillable). The restaurant itself is nothing fancy-everything is 70s brown wood décor and gave me childhood flashbacks. it was hot in there and a lot of the ceiling fans were either going super slowly or not working at all. The whole place seemed kind of dingy-even the cash register was 70s and looked worn and dirty which made me worry about what the kitchen looked like. We were the only customers inside. can kind of see why now after eating. It wasn’t the worst bbq I’ve ever had but not the greatest either. The price was definitely right-can’t really complain about that. I’ve never been to a bbq place that didn’t ask you what kind of sauce you wanted or have some extra sauce on the table so I don’t know what kind of bbq style this is-Texas maybe?

I thought I found a great bbq joint but after going there 4 times, I have noticed a few things. 1. The guy who owns the place was super nice my first time there, then I went back a couple days later and he was not as friendly he seemed grumpy and when I said I was there a couple days ago and said I enjoyed it, he looked at me and gave me a weird smirk and said in an irritated tone, «what would you like?» he seemed as if he was in a hurry or he was busy… when no one else was even there… and when I walked in prior to all that he was just reading a paper leaning on the counter… 2. The chicken… I love bbq chicken… but my bbq chicken is WAY better. His is super over cooked and dry and you can tell that it was boiled or something because the skin is too soft and there are no grill marks. It is like it was just doused in bbq sauce. 3. Fry’s must be straight from a grocery store bag from the frozen food section. I have a bag at home that looks and tastes just like it. 4. The ribs… boiled and then slapped on a grill 5. bbq sauce… it is good… but he needs to control how much he puts on his meat… it is his way of covering up the pretend bbq’d meat. 6. I asked him if he had iced tea and he snapped at me like I asked him a difficult question. 7. dirty dining room… gross…I accidently somehow touched under the table and it was disgustingly sticky and the top of the tables appeared cleaned… but… they are not… they are sticky like it has been wiped with a week old rag. The kitchen doe not look clean either. 8. The sweet potato pie is… grocery store bought pumpkin pie and you can tell. 9. It is too dark in that restaurant 10. The FLIES… enough said I am giving this place 3 stars because the portions are good, the prices are not bad at all compared to others, the macaroni and potato salad are good. I gotta look for another bbq joint that is worth going to. Any suggestions??? :)

A true disappointment. A friend who frequents this spot hyped it up so much that I was anticipating it becoming my new go-to BBQ joint(don’t worry, Sandra Dee’s, you are still at the top of my list!). Well, he must like it because it is conveniently located next door to his apartment. It can’t be because of the BBQ itself. The ribs were obviously boiled, grilled to get a char mark, and then slathered with bottle-tasting sauce, which actually wasn’t bad, but not remarkable on any level. The link tasted like a giant hot dog sliced down the middle and slathered in the unremarkable cue sauce. The chicken also tasted like it was prepared the same way as the ribs. Bland. I don’t know if he claims to use a smoker, but there was no smokey flavor at all. At all. I could have boiled and baked the meat in my own oven and poured some generic BBQ sauce over it and gotten the same flavor. You get the idea. The owner was an extremely nice and humble man. He let us order from the lunch menu(even though it was dinner), and he got our order out fast. We both ordered the 3 way(ribs/chicken/hot link + 2 sides and a roll) for $ 8.95. Lots of food for the price. I really wanted to love the place. I gave 2 stars for the service and the sides. I had the macaroni salad which was yummy, tasted homemade, and he used seashell pasta, instead of the usual elbow. The potato salad was creamy and also tasted homemade. The baked beans I didn’t care for. They were on the bland side, and the fries were skinny and average. The hot buttered rolls were pretty buttery and delicious. They even held up nicely by the time we got back home and sat down to eat. But, alas, it is a BBQ restaurant, and people go for the BBQ. I won’t be going back.
