Those of you who know me know that I will eat ANYWHERE! And as I was on the mission for some authentic Mexican food to start my weekend off, I ventured into North Highlands to check out«Tacos El Sabroso». Located directly on Madison Ave.(west of I-80) and next to Jackson St., this place is as simple as they come. The trailer is rather small but size does not matter when this place packs so much flavor that I’ll get to later in this review. There are a few chairs outside just in case you wish to eat there and not have your car smelling like greasy Mexican food. The menu. well its as basic as they come serving only tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. You may think why no tortas? or tostadas? or even tortilla chips? Well, sometimes the simpler, the better. As far as the service goes, it is top notch as they man in the trailer taking my order was very polite and down to earth. And as busy as it was, he was calm, cool, and collective considering there was a family before me that ordered a ton of tacos and burritos. I kept things simple by ordering two carne asada tacos(priced at $ 1.75/each) and a carne asada quesadilla(priced at $ 8.00) with sour cream on the side. There are plenty of condiments that is adjacent to the trailer to customize your meal including salsa verde, salsa roja, pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, and lime. Since it was very busy, it was roughly a 20 minute wait for my small order. But remember, it is only two guys working here! After receiving my food in styrofoam packaging and taking it from my car to my home, everything smelled amazing. As far as looks go, the food itself does not look appetizing at all. But one bite of my quesadilla and the flavor was jaw-dropping amazing. It had the perfect seasoning while my carne asada was on point, tender, and cooked to absolute perfection. The sour cream even tasted authentic as it had a small hint of lime in it. And best of all, even my lady told me just how phenomenal her tacos were. Do keep in mind that«Tacos El Sabroso» has extremely limited hours as they are only open from seven days a week from 6 – 10:30pm. I do have to be honest; I was quite skeptical about coming here as dilapidated the signage looked as well as the neighborhood I was in. But that all erased my memory after every greasy bite of this amazing Mexican food. So do yourself a favor, if you want real-deal hole-in-the-wall Mexican food, come out to North Highlands and give«Tacos El Sabroso» a try!

Worst place ever. Location blah! Food didn’t even get a chance to eat. You have to make your own tacos? What? And plus no cilantro? But told us they had some and didn’t. So after waiting 10 minute we got our money back. We finally got to leave.

Best tacos in town. My taco loving heart is filled with taco joy. The man running this taco joint is very friendly and makes a mean taco. If it’s unclear i really love tacos. And these are good tacos. Tacos.

Me and some of the brothers from the Life Change center here on Jackson Street used to go almost every other night to «Adalbertos» for our late dinners or just to grab a bite after our church services. After one day arriving at «Adalbertos» to a long line we took a chance at trying«Tacos El Sobroso» for the first time, and I must say that the name does not disappoint. We have not gone to «Adalbertos» since this stand is now our favorite place. Soy Mexicano and I must say this Place is legit and authentic Mexican taste. Most of the brothers that come with me are missionaries that have served in Mexico and other Latin American countries so they are no strangers to the real deal; we even had our Pastor come out one time and try a Burrito De Asada one time and he was not dissatisfied at all. God Bless Those workers and may that business continue to prosper.

I like eat street tacos because it reminds me of mexico but this place wasn’t what I expected. I had some chicken tacos and Cabeza tacos and both types of tacos had no flavor what’s so ever. I even put some lime and salt to see what would happen, but nothing happen. The Pico de gallo had a weird flavor to it too. The way they keep the condiments is not the most sanitary either because I found a woman’s hair on my plate and considering that both the guys cooking ain’t got long hair than I don’t know where that came from. I hate giving bad reviews but the food wasn’t that good.

Such a great place and an amazing bargain. Prepare yourself to wait in line and if you get there late some of the menu items may be sold out. You know this place is awesome because its normally busy everyday. Give it a solid try and you won’t be disappointed.

Perfect for a true fast food stop when you want real food and not a chain. Really nice guys in taco truck. Very good salsas, fresh cilantro and limes to top off tacos or have incorporated into burrito. I loved my al pastor tacos and hubbie muy contento with hefty carne asada burrito. Exactly what we wanted. To top it off he gave me extra taco! Easy on and off of I80 so will be on our radar for future Tahoe trips.

UMMM Chando’s who? You know you’re about to eat good mexican food when 10 mexican guys are standing around in their work clothes waiting in line and it’s not a bunch of white hipsters. This place is LEGIT!!! Tacos are cheap and delicious. My other half ordered a burrito and it was amazing(according to him). If you order a burrito, they will hand you a cup to put salsa and various things in from the salsa bar and you hand it back to them and they will throw it in the burrito. We didn’t know what to do the first time and I filled it with salsa for my tacos. Ooops! Also the green sauce is VERYVERYVERY hot and not a typical verde sauce so taste it first. Thankfully he warned us and we used it sparingly. It’s all outside since it’s a taco stand, they are open late and have a few chairs too.

This place is the spot for authentic Mexican Tacos, Super Burritos and Quesadillas! Come here for the best tasting burritos and tacos. They make it right in front of you so you can see that none of the food is reheated/old like some Mexican restaurants. I always order the chicken burrito, chicken is always moist and flavorful with mexican spices. I have ordered the carne asada, cheek, tongue and cabeza in the past and its also fresh moist and flavorful. You will not be diappointed! The red and tomatillo salsa is on point too!

Best burrito around. The cook does something a little different than I’ve seen because he mixes up the ingredients instead of just layering them. Also you order then pick what you want on the inside from the salsa bar. The tacos are good too, but the burritos are excellent. My personal fave is Al Pastor.

Best tacos in Sacramento! Al Pastor is my favorite here. Great friendly service and great food. It’s the little white trailer with flames next to the body shop.
