Ordered a refrigerator part online January 4th through the website who unknowingly placed the order with Universal Appliance Parts Inc. in Beaverton, OR and charged my PayPal account for the full amount including shipping. Web research indicates that is at 16159 Nordhoff St., Los Angeles, California and the business is also known as , Masters Appliance Parts and Appliance Parts Masters. Website assured buyers that the part I ordered usually ships in 5 – 6 days and that buyers would receive a shipment confirmation email. The direct affiliation between Universal Appliance Parts and the other businesses /websites is unknown. Having not received the shipment confirmation email as expected, I contacted by email on January 13th and never received a response. I also called the phone number listed twice and got a recording; no live person. On January 15th a person by the name of Emil called me to confirm that I still wanted the part, and he said shipment would be in 1 – 2 weeks. On January 18th Universal Appliance Parts cancelled my order and refunded my money stating that part was on indefinite backorder. The part price was now raised on the PartsAway website by $ 15. No further communication from . The part is available through other vendors, and is stocked according to those vendors, so it appears that Universal Appliance Parts was making an insufficient profit at their published online price and therefore cancelled my order to satisfy their profit objectives. I re-ordered through another vendor.
