7-Eleven

Had an interesting experience here fairly recently. I had gone in to purchase something small just so I could get cash back to purchase a laundry card for my apartment. I ended up purchasing a diet coke, a small pringles can, and got $ 10 cash back, all for a total of $ 13.50.
When I had returned to my apartment complex, I attempted to insert the $ 10 bill 7-​Eleven had given me into the laundry card machine. The bill, however, was so flimsy and weak that a small portion of it tore off at the end, not big enough that the bill isn’t valid (that needs to be more than one third) but still a noticeable tear though. The tear was obnoxious, but I noticed though that a $ 10 bill wouldn’t be valid at all, I would need a $ 5 bill to purchase a new card and another $ 5 or more to add value. So I went back to the 7-​Eleven, again, with the slightly torn $ 10 bill in hand, wanting to exchange for two $ 5s, or if they couldn’t open up the register, purchase something small again and then exchange for two fives.
Here’s where it gets interesting. I approach the counter and hand the cashier the $ 10 bill with the torn off portion too, asking to exchange. We both exchange smiles looking at it, we knew each other since I had frequented this 7-​Eleven several times in the past. He then says that he cannot take this. I tell him that he literally gave me that same bill 5 minutes ago and that it had torn because it was so flimsy. I wouldn’t have even minded if the cashier couldn’t accept it, with all the procedures and policies he must adhere to and the demands from his bosses, I can understand his hesitancy at taking it back, and I could easily just take it to my bank instead who would have accepted it.
But what really irked me is when the cashier denied that he had ever handed me that bill, let alone ever serving me in the first place. I was dumbfounded by this, I was literally in the store just 5 minutes earlier. I told him this, telling him I still had the diet coke and can of pringles in my car from the store. He told me that sometimes I just come into the store and leave without purchasing anything. This had only happened one time, this very same night, where I walked in, realized I had left my wallet in my car, walked out, got my wallet, and walked back in, maybe within the span of 10 – 15 seconds. I asked him if he then remembered me walking back in again after that to purchase my items, which he denied and said he had never served me.
Unfortunately I didn’t have a receipt for the items, he offered but I said I didn’t need one, but I did have a mobile app for my bank on my phone, and could show him the debit for 7-​Eleven in the amount of $ 13.50 just a few minutes earlier. By this point he relented and accepted the $ 10.00 and gave me two 5’s and I left. Again, I can understand the cashier’s hesitations regarding the torn $ 10 bill, and if he wasn’t able to accept it I could have just turned it into my bank and purchased another smaller item instead for the two $ 5 bills. But to insist that he didn’t actually hand me that bill, that I sometimes go in and out of the store randomly, and that I didn’t actually purchase anything five minutes earlier was insulting and unprofessional. There are two perfectly good 7−11s, one on Magnolia and another east on Burbank blvd, both just a couple blocks away, that can suit your needs better than this one can.

Sandeep the cashier who rung us up was extremely disrespectful! California law states when using an EBT card that you are entitled to receive a free bag for your purchases. Not only did he charge us for the bag, but when we informed him off the law and company policy as we have dealt with this same issue at another ⁷⁄₁₁ he became very dismissive and treated us like we were less than! You should not as a company highlight, promote, and encourage people to use their ebt cards with you when you intend to treat the ones who do use it as 2^nd class citizens. I will NEVER return to this location and am reconsidering patronizing ⁷⁄₁₁ at all due to the inconsistencies from your franchises, it’s owners, and their employees choosing which policy’s they will be honoring!

I’m a local resident and unfortunately a smoker, thus I frequent my local 7 – 11 daily to purchase smokes. My complaint is the guy who works nights and is there when I come into buy my smokes or a beer after a long day. I will first say that I am going to quit smoking soon and that this 7 – 11 is actually helping me move forward with this, since the clerk I deal with always makes me feel like a third class citizen. First off, thus clerk is always on the phone, a Bluetooth earpiece. He never asks more than a one syllable word. I usually tell him what I want, then use hand signals to correct him. 7 – 11 has a deal when you buy 2 packs, which saves me a couple bucks. I always seem to have to use two fingers after i ask for two packs of Marlboro. He always seems to do the least and not pay attention to a customers request.
I do give him credit for having a life. I personally cannot think of anyone that I could have such a prolonged conversation with on the phone.
His lack of attention is only a minor bother. I can see that he is not too happy with his job. Still, that depresses me abit. I guess my main complaint is that whenever I buy anything, he leaves the items on his side of the counter. Doesn’t offer a bag or any normal felicitations, such as thanks /​have a nice day. He’s on the phone or when he is not, he will put your change in your hand and nod, but still dies nit push your items towards you.
I’m really not this way, but what prompted me to write this review was that tonight, a smoking hot young woman was in front of me tonight, when I was buying my daily dose of smokes, and the young man at the counter removed his earpiece and engaged in a brief conversation with this young beautiful girl. He gave her free plastic bags and smiled at her and waved «thanks and goodnight «. I was next. He put his earpiece back in and his smile left his face. Wow! I never knew that I was hideous. In Ralphs or Trader Joes they don’t seem to mind, or atleast put up a good front as I check out and give a courtesy «thanks for shopping here».
I’m not the self conscious type, but the 7 – 11 on Burbank Blvd, NoHo is giving me a complex. I like the prices on cigarettes there, but I know now that smoking is no longer socially acceptable in Los Angeles. So thank you for helping me quit. But I hope your managers read these Unilocal reviews, since I have often been in a line of multiple customers and it seems that I am not the only one that gets the silent treatment or being forced to gather their purchases from one side of the counter (really, when the clerk scans the items, he release them right on the counter in front of him. When people ask for a bag, he often just hands people a bags and leaves them to bag their purchased item «while talking on his earpiece «).
I’m trying to feel for the clerk that has a dead end job, but really, it’s not a dead end job. He probably family, but earns more than a Rite-​Aide cashier. I have never had a cashier at any grocery store ignore me while on a phone call, at a minimum, hold up a finger to say just a minute.
I like having a neighborhood quicky mart, but this 7 – 11 is going off my shopping list. It’s not just because of this one employee, I think his brother/​cousin is also a dick too and I don’t feel like dressing up to get attention to buy daily items. I’m really not hideous and I am /​was a loyal shopper to my neighborhood stores. Less than a ½ block away us a liquor store and they always say hello when I walk in and seem quite happy to sell me cigarette.
That alone makes me feel less ugly (and I’m really not ugly, or so I’m told at Ralphs, Costco or the little liquor store a ½ block away from my neighborhood 7 – 11).
I’m writing this mainly to vent, but I do hope that the owners of this local 7 – 11 will notice. My father always told me that it is better to tell a store why your not shopping there anymore. It’s information they should know and can help them make changes. Anyway, I’m done. I was a daily shopper at my local 7 – 11, often more than just cigarettes. Wish me luck, I’m starting to quit this weekend and can find my other needs at a friendly neighborhood liquor store a half block away.
End of review: staff sucks. But less burnt smell in store than the 7 – 11’s at magnolia and lankershim in NoHo.

It’s a 5 star 7 – 11. Always has stuff in stock. The staff is great! I mean it’s still a 7 – 11, but as far as 7−11s go it’s a good one.

All 7 – 11’s are the same to me but this one has a little more variety that I like. The guys that work here are great and super friendly. Parking can sometimes be iffy when it’s busy. Best of all they carry my little Sahale Snacks I love!

7 – 11 is my go-​to store if I ever need a banana, a quart of motor oil, a ribbed condom, a mango Snapple and a couple of bottles of NyQuil at 4:30 in the morning.
This particular 7 – 11 on the corner of Burbank Blvd and Hollywood way, features it’s own homeless guy! And this is not one of those fly-​by-​night homeless guys. This one has been on this corner (on this bus bench) for at least 14 years – the entire time my wife and I have lived in and around Burbank.
He’s a sort of scraggly white guy, almost always facing the Burbank Blvd street, wearing headphones and poking at some sort of phone or video game (where does he charge them up?) generally making himself look very busy doing nothing at all.
Although he doesn’t bother anybody for money he does turn around and face the store when he gets hungry or thirsty, parking his buttocks on the edge of a trash can, and putting on his most pathetic face, complete with slouched shoulders, miserable expression and downcast eyes.
It must work! People see him and give him loose change, folding green and food items. I once saw him with a whole large pizza from Dino’s across the street, but for the most part this guy has survived on «food» from the 7 – 11 itself!
So it’s true! You can live on «food» from a 7 – 11, say 98% of everything you eat, and not die immediately!
Around 4:00 PM every day, he packs up this complicated wagon-​looking-​thingie he wheels around everywhere, and crosses Hollywood Way, arriving shortly at the bus bench in front of the 76 station, where he sleeps on the uneven metal bench, and becomes their mascot for a few hours.
People wanting to use the benches for the actual purpose of catching a bus, should do so at their own peril.
But anyway, go to this 7 – 11, and give the homeless guy my kindest regards when you see him.

Used to shop here often, until a problem with a $ 15,00 lottery ticket.

Love them! Sing and Lucky are the best, and the owner is very nice as well! They all know exactly what I’m getting and have it ready for me when I get up to pay. I literally go there every day and I’ve never had a bad experience!

All 711s are the same and they are all great. They have a consistent product and have been described as a «casino of junk food». Convenience, candy, Double Gulp, yay!
This one is fun because a homeless lady comes in sometimes and shoplifts whatever she wants while she yells profanities at the sales clerk who is too frightened to do anything except yell back. One time I saw the owner fight her off the premises. I’m pretty sure he could’ve been a member of Seal Team 6 if he’d put his mind to it. Once I got a compliment on my outfit by a man in a Barbie t-​shirt and miniskirt who subsequently stole his slurpee. See! It’s fun!

There is no way this store has less than a three.
The 7 eleven stores in the immediate area are all connected. They use the phone for safety in the case they get robbed. The other store can call the police. That’s why if you notice they all are on the phone at every store if they are working alone
There is only one guy who is kind of a dick he’s and older guy and he works in the morning and he just don’t like to be fucked with sbd doesn’t take any shit from the homeless, the highschool kids, or random assholes.
I’m a regular so they all are cool with me.

Stumbling into a 7-​Eleven at 3am, you really aren’t expecting to see a whole lot. However, this 7-​Eleven rarely strays from the norm and gives you exactly what you are looking for during those nights when you just need a quick cheese fix.
7-​Elevens are a dime-​a-​dozen, there’s plenty around and they aren’t all that different. This specific location could have better parking and a better organizational structure inside, but they generally have at least something that will hold you over until you get to drive to a more acceptable place tomorrow.
If you’re looking for a 7-​Eleven, I would say that this is just as good as the rest of them. If you’re looking for a place to shop or somewhere more full of substance, I suggest you keep heading up Magnolia to a CVS or a Ralph’s.
This 7-​Eleven is still just a 7-​Eleven, but «just a 7-​Eleven» is still not that bad.

Love the lite sugar free slurpees! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming makes the stop even better! Also the hot dogs are my favorite with a little chili cheese and jalapeños! Oh and the Italian sub mmmm can’t you tell I’m a 7 Eleven junkie and this one is my favorite thanks to their awesome crew! Only complaint PLEASE get more Arizona mint lemonade!!!

listen, 7-​Eleven is on every corner… they always have what i need when i need it… and one this particular day (today, Feb 10 2013), I got just what I needed: to see the face of an angel… his name was Ervin… and he rang me up at the register… He was beautiful… the most beautiful creature Ive ever seen… lol for that I give this particular location, I will give it 5 stars.
Boom… lesson: Hire Models to raise your Unilocal rating…

What can u raslly say about 7eleven, its a mini mart that is always open. I gave it a 4 star only because I always fear the people that hang around outside no matter what time a day it is, and the darker it is the scarier it feels. TO ME!

This is my fave 711 for 1 reason: the employees. Having been a regular for about 6 years now, I’ve developed a friendship with these guys, never in a creepy way. when they barely knew me, they’d always make light-​hearted jokes and always exchanged some kind of conversation. This is unlike any convenience store experience I’ve had anywhere. Regardless of how busy they are, & it can get pretty hectic considering their location, they never make you rush & they always treat you very nicely. Ironically, they make you feel like family in a store where most people just go for a quick food/​drink stop. These people are incredibly hard workers and no matter what time of day you walk in, they always have a smile on their face… This is the reason why I choose to go in here every morning for my coffee… Unlike any other 711 in my experience!!!

Got what I needed and left, the guy working the counter was cool. I only spent 5 min here. I stop by this one when I’m in the neighborhood.

The worker was on his Bluetooth while at the cash register. Not very professional. But they do have a redbox outside which is nice

I just want to point out that I wish my home court 7eleven was as cool and taken care of as this one… it’s not my FAVORITE 7eleven, but it’s pretty darn close, and alot of it has to do with just never having issues here and never not finding what I want and never having the employees seem to look at me like I was trying to steal something and well, just actually being a decent convenience store within a chain.

I like this 7 – 11 — It doesn’t make me feel entirely gross when I enter, and there is one guy employee in particular who is really nice to all of the customers.
This 7 – 11 is wedged between an off ramp from the 170 and a gas station, which makes for a really tiny parking lot. On top of having a small lot, it shares it with a dry cleaner and a bartender school. So parking is sometimes a true test of patience.
