Burbank Auto Electric & Mechanic

First off, I went to three different shops to find the correct instrument for what I needed, it wasn’t till a shop owner told me «No, no one has that anymore. BUT if anyone would have it, it would be Hatch from BAE.» He gave me directions and I easily found the shop. I was promptly greeted the second I got out of my car. The gentlemen listened to what I needed and directed me to the right guy. Hatch attended to me with in 5 mins and was very kind. I got what I need and left within 10 mins. Friendly and professional staff, highly recommended!

Hatch is honest and fair, and I highly recommend taking your car here. Hatch was a third or fourth opinion for my my car which has been giving me trouble that has confused mechanic after mechanic. He was able to connect to my car and read a message that others weren’t able to find, and, most importantly, he was honest enough to tell me that he was still unsure. He said that when the problem happened again, he would drive to me in order to make a more accurate diagnosis. That’s the best personal service I’ve ever heard from a mechanic, so I am a loyal customer from here on out!

Just thoroughly impressed. I know it can be stressful going to a mechanic, but these guys are honest and do great work. I had a misfiring coil on my BMW and they fixed it in under 45 minutes at such a reasonable cost. And not only are they knowledgeable on cars, but Hatch and his crew are so incredible nice. Great mechanics!

My service truck had an electrical issue that left me broken down on the side of the road. I had it towed to a mechanic who replaced a fuse, charged me $ 400 and sent me on my way. Two days later the truck broke down again so I took it to another mechanic who had it for over a week and ultimately said they couldn’t figure it out. They recommended I get a new service truck. I truly believed that I had an electrical issue that was too complicated to solve and that I would have to buy a new vehicle. Then I found Hatch. He looked at the fuse, told me what had to be done, how long it would take and how much it would cost. I authorized the work and my truck is fixed. His estimate on both time and cost were exact. He and his crew are extremely confidant and competent. I’ll never take any of my vehicles to anyone else. What a relief it is to finally have a great mechanic.

Excellent work. I had a allot of engine work done on my 1998 BMW. Valley pan, valve cover gaskets, vanos cover gaskets, spark plugs, wheel bearing, thermostat, and water pump. It runs great, and I no longer have any oil or water leaks. Paul who did the work on the car, kept everything clean and all put back together properly. They are very informative with questions as well. Thanks Hatch/​Paul.

Finally took my car back. Had to leave it there for half day. But hatch and his crew fixed the problem. Once again they are really nice and I did spend and arm and a leg the experience was well worth it.

I live close by and did not have transportation for the first 3 years so they have seen me and my dog walk by many times. I recently bought an older car without knowing much about it and it had an issue within the first month. Major stress!!! To add to that, I had no real mechanic to speak of and all my friends’ suggestions weren’t great. Then it dawned on me! Why not just ask the place I always walk by? Then it hit me again — they typically work on high-​end cars and might not even consider working on an older model. I read the reviews on here and figured I should just go ahead and try because everyone said Hatch was an honest mechanic — such a rarity. I stopped by first thing Monday morning before they opened (of course they were already hard at work even though it was before hours) and Hatch said «You are neighbor. We will take care of you!» That was it! All my stress and worry about the car flew right off my shoulders — an honest mechanic who recognized me as the lady who lived in the area and was willing to help — what a blessing! They gave me their recommendation and quoted me a fair price — at no time did I feel pressured to add extra things that were unnecessary. And they took the car they were working on down to get mine done quickly so that I could return to teaching the next day!
Paul is the actual technician who worked on my car and he was amazing as well. He explained everything he did and let me know what to listen for and how to maintain the car. His kindness and attention to detail to my car, which was CLEARLY the most basic on their lot, spoke volumes to me about his character. And B.A.E.‘s as well. I hope I don’t have to visit them often, but I now know where to go if I do.

We were looking for an honest knowledgeable mechanic when a neighbor of ours told us about Burbank Auto Electric. They said the guy that owns the place is name Hatch, and he’s good, honest but his servies don’t come cheap. So, on our neighbor’s recommendatiobn, we took our vehicle into Hatch’s place for repairs. We found Hatch to be professional, knowledgeable and honest. We discovered Hatch also employs a courteous and helpful staff. My wife and I trust Hatch and his staff to work on our vehicles and we highly recommend Burbank Auto Electric.

Auto repairs are mysterious to most people. One often takes the «advice» of the shop owner or mechanic as absolute and irrefutable. Problem is… we’ve all been burned by these «combustible engine physicians» in the past. We are wary, but what can we do? This is where Hatch (the owner) and his team come in to save us all. He’s honest, empathetic, and reasonable in price. Never have I felt that I was paying for unnecessary fixes. He gets straight to the problem and gets your car back on the road in an efficient manner. Not to say that he doesn’t «advise» about other problems which might exist on your car (but aren’t the nature of your malfunctions at the moment), but at least he’s straightforward enough to say «they can wait for a bit before fixing». Cars will always have problems, but «solving» all of them at once will only leave us empty in our wallets and bitter with regret. Hatch knows that if he and his team «maintain» your vehicle he will have repeat business.

We have worked with Hatch at Burbank Auto Electric for the past 8 years. As a dealer it is essential to have our vehicles repaired properly, at a good price, AND quickly.
Hatch ensures we get that every time. No matter what type of vehicle or issue we have our first and last resort is Hatch.
It is extremely difficult to completely trust a mechanic. However, Hatch has managed to break that barrier. Now days, we just drop off a vehicle and pick it up when its done, no questions asked because we have complete Faith in Hatch’s quality and precision of repairs.
He changes only things that need to be repaired, and makes recommendation on what needs to be done in the near future.
He persists on using O.E.M. parts, and has the technological means to manage any make or Model.

I’ve been taking our 02 Tahoe to Cornerstone for the past 2 years. We had it in 5 different times to fix the rear A/​C, electrical issues, battery issue and for a tune-​up. The owner is great and they have always delivered excellent service and work. Even when I asked about checking something out, like the brakes, they did not replace them because they were still good and they gave me the honest answer.
If you need work done on your vehicle, I’d highly recommend this pleace!!!

Best mechanics in LA! My family and I have been coming here for years. They provide excellent service with great experience and are trustworthy people. I would’nt trust anyone else with my car. I would refer them to anyone, they really know what they’re doing.

IN these days if you have new bmw or land rovers out of warranty, its very hard to find mechanic with proper tools and computer to be able to reair your car and not asking both legs and arms. hatch has that capability and knowledge, the crew is nice, I visit them often and I am very happy with service and charges.

Going to a mechanic used to give me as much anxiety as going to the dentist. That is, until I found this place. The manager is Hatch and he’s a nice guy, more importantly he’s honest. Prior to this place I’d take my car to a shop, write down everything the mechanic would tell me needed to be fixed and how much it would cost and come home and google everything to find out that I was being quoted a price 10 times what the part should cost! I don’t have to do that anymore. Now when Hatch tells me what needs to be fixed and what it’ll cost, I leave my car for him to fix instead of bringing it back home so I could start my online research to make sure I’m not being taken advantage of. Even though there are dozens of shops closer to me, this is the only place I take my car.

Really good experience! I had a difficult problem with my 2004 Ram 1500 pickup. My normal mechanic couldn’t fix it (problem in sealed module — he sent me to the dealer), dealer misdiagnosed and wanted to charge $ 900 for a new A/​C condenser (which was of course fine). Took it to Hatch at BAE on the strength of these reviews, and Hatch dug into it, disassembled the sealed module, stuck with it, and eventually found the problem in a wiring harness below the module — charged me $ 250 for the repair, which would have cost me hundreds more at the dealer even IF they had correctly diagnosed it.
I’ll be going back to him, and would recommend him to anyone.

Hatch is amazing. I’ve been taking my car to him since my my very first car at the age of 16. My dad has been taking his car there for years before that. Hatch is such a great guy he lend my dad his car while in repair.
I have a newer car now but my husband has been using him for 4 years now and loves him. GREAT guy, great mechanic.
