Don’t bother if you have scrap metal. 76 pounds of aluminum… $.76 Not even worth the gas to transport it here. I smelled a total scam when I got here.

Went here a cpl days ago after seeing it on Unilocal.Workers seemed kinda bored but were ok. Calif. reycycling law changed Nov 1st2013 so that you can no longer«bundle» non-CRV glass and plastic with CRV containers. Apparently, people were coming over to Calif with truck loads of non-CRV plastic/glass and taking advantage of our system and the state claimed fraud. Ok, I get it but it is just ridiculous to force someone to throw away glass and plastic just for this reason. The state and these recycling centers want to see you GIVE it to them so they can recycle/get paid for it. That is their true goal imo. Anyway, the worker here said he would take my non-crv plastic«this time» but normally they do not. He would not take my glass wine bottles or any hard liquor bottles. That sucks. :/But they took most of my stuff — 85% of it I’d say. However, I noticed when I was done and on my receipt that it said I was charged by weight — not individual containers. I also noticed that it states that they may charge a lesser amount if the load contains non-crv containers. :/. Next time just to see if it is worth it, I will choose to get paid for each individual container and see if it pays more. I did get like $ 16 — the most being for my plastic. I probably will come back to this place, it seems to be the best deal around.

Maybe I can help put this place on the map. Aside from being close to home, Cash 4 Scrap is hardly ever busy and its fairly clean. The space is large and airy so it doesn’t smell like moldy beer cans. I’m usually in and out fairly quickly depending on how much I have to cash in. They accept glass, plastic bottles, cans, aluminum, and metal(plus other things I don’t remember!) I’ve also starting bringing in empty laundry detergent bottles, body lotion bottles, shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles, liquid hand soap… basically I turn over almost anything these days looking for that triangular arrows symbol! They don’t take newspaper or cardboard, however. As with most recycling centers, you obviously need a LOT of items to walk away with even a few dollars so don’t expect to have this be your get-rich-quick kinda scheme! So save up for a while and you just might have enough for some dranks from GiGi’s.
