Why would you sit at home in your dingy apartment listening to the upstairs neighbors stomp around on the ceiling when you could be out getting some exercise, having fun, volunteering, and meeting new people? They also collect clothing for shelters, teach cooking classes to kids, and help a local community garden. How can volunteer work be so much fun? And as if they even needed to make this more fun, they go for beers at The Brickyard afterward playing dodgeball. The social aspect of this organization is great and everyone is cool and welcoming of new people. They even arrange bike rides, museum visits, you name it. No, it doesn’t hurt when you get hit by a ball. Not even in the face. Trust me on this one. The emphasis is on having a good time and doing charity work along with great hang out opportunities, not on the competitiveness of the sport. Sign up for a ten week league on their website.
