My family and I ate here after a day at Universal Studios. We were looking for a healthy and simple dinner option that had a home cooked feel to it, before heading back to the hotel. We were greeted by Jay and he had a great personality, he even took a picture with us. The food is simple and healthy here with a decent portion size. I will just stick to ordering the chicken bowl next time I go back. I also forgot my Go pro here for 30 minutes, and when I went back Jay had it waiting for me to return. He even tried to look around for me at City Walk to return it to me. Thank you Jay for the awesome customer service and great food. I would have only gave 4 stars for the food and venue alone, but Jay made the review 5 star worthy.

The food was hot the service was great and the place was clean. I think it’s family Owned so service was very homely. The food was good not too expensive.

While I appreciate a «healthier» fast-food option at CityWalk, I probably wouldn’t recommend coming here based on the lackluster quality of the food and abysmal service. I don’t expect much from fast-food restaurants: I want decent-tasting food prepared at low costs and served without problems. Sadly, this branch of Flame Broiler satisfied almost none of those requirements. The major issue with this location is the horrendous service. Hector took my order, but refused my coupon even when I had presented evidence that this Flame Broiler was a participating location(the addresses matched). He even went so far as to lie and say that there was another Flame Broiler in Universal City that would accept my coupon. Lies! That encounter had already left a bad taste in my mouth, which was exacerbated once I received my food. I normally enjoy the food at Flame Broiler, but the food here was dry, tasteless, and sloppy(some pieces of chicken still had bone). Do yourself a favor and avoid this Flame Broiler!

Bowls were filled halfway. Theyre crooks. $ 8 for a beef bowl with 2 small scoops of rice. Im asian and I LOVE my rice so you can imagine my rage when I received my dish. Cashier was nice, owner was horrible. He called our number but order was wrong and insisted it was right because the number on the ticket matched. The cashier had to correct him(owner) and fix the problem for us. Owner was yelling at people saying they were taking too much sauce. He shouldnt be working anymore. The guy needs to retire. He looked miserable. Beef was dry but veggies were good.

They don’t give you free tap water which is illegal. I’ve been there two times and they still give me the same crap that they’re «out of cups».

This place is horrible. The service was ok. What sucked the most was the food. I just didn’t like the chicken or the steak. The«magic» sauce was just nasty. I don’t think it has to do with this particular location. I just didn’t like their food. I prefer waba grill.

Don’t come here. They don’t even want to give you a water cup cause he thinks you’re going to steal soda. Crappy management.

Went in here last minute, the menu looked promising. The cashier/owner not very pleasant, nor friendly, looks miserable being there. The rest of the staff were fast and did their best to provide excellent service. Food on menu looks better than actual plate. I think I’ll go with all chicken next time if I dare go back. The place is tiny and it can be crowded by people blocking the entry waiting for

Just had lunch… It was good. They don’t give you much meat… But they do serve gold leaf tea in 4 styles, so that’s awesome. I would suggest the chicken bowl. Staff was friendly.

Worst customer service ever! I explained clearly, twice on how I wanted no sauce on my meat and yet, I got sauce on my meat! I asked for them to remake my chicken and I had to wait 15 mins! Jessica the cashier was rude! I love flame broiler but you can count on me and my family to NEVER come Back here! Don’t eat here!!! No stars earned at this place! I have to put a star to share my review ugh!!!

This location is terrible, I love flame broilers, service here is the worst. I downloaded Unilocal just to complain. 1. They charge you for water. If you say you just want a cup for water from their soda fountain(it’s 84 degrees in SoCal right now) they will tell you no. 2. You have to ask for cups for sauce. 3. When I was finished there was no receptacle for trash. As I was leaving the employee instructed me to take my tray outside and dump my trash in the Citiwalk food court. The service here is unpleasant. It’s a 5 min walk from my apartment, I would eat here every week, instead I’m writing a complaint on Unilocal

Came here to fill a void after Panda Express had horribly slow service and disgusting attitude from LOLO. Flame Broiler was able to just sell me chicken only to mix with the lack of chicken that Panda Express gave. Plus they were super nice and attentive.

If you want grilled teriyaki food this is definitely not the place! Completely over priced on what you get and the flavor tastes like cheap bland food. I really thought that I would get quality since all my friends eat at this place and always tell me that im missing out. I don’t know if its location or what but it wasn’t good at all(other locations can differ depending on cooks and service). The rice was mushy, not enough veggies to actually get a taste, and the meat was dry!

Ate at this place because I am a lover of Flame Broiler, but found this location to be horrible. The cashier was not only rude but the food quality there was not as good either. –There are no water cups –Prices are higher — No veggies in your mini bowl –only ONE sauce cup(if you ask for one) Overall, the prices here are expensive, service is terrible and it is clear that they are super cheap and trying to get the most out of tourist. Bad business philosophy is you ask me.

Terrible service! I waited for 40 minutes. 6 people whose tickets numbers after mine got their food before me. I asked why i did not get mine. The lady said rudely: «every one is waiting, not just you!» Gosh! What kind of service is this? The food was ok, but I was pissed! Terrible place!

I was gonna put down 1 star because the service here was really bad but the food actually tasted good. Bumped back up one star. Their bowl sizes are definitely smaller than Yoshinoya and probably match what Jack in the box gives you. Still tasted great though with that hot sauce. Service was definitely something to be desired. It felt they were doing you a favor for everything. What do you want? No we don’t have free water. No we don’t have free Wifi, No you can’t return your plate or tray back to us, take that outside to the tray return. I’m sure you get the idea. A couple more people came in with different questions and situations. I think this is one of those tourist traps or situations where you have to eat here because everything else is too pricey

There are not that much healthy options here at City Food besides Subway. I was happy that they finally opened up a Flame Broiler. I usually order the Beef Veggie Bowl. It is good especially when you add the magic sauce and hot sauce to it. Can’t go wrong with the food options here. I’ve tried the Works bowl and the Rib plate. Both dishes were very good. Prices are reasonable considering it is located at a tourist location. Expect to pay a bit more at this location. Overall, service is quick and food is decent. I will keep coming back to this place because with the exception of Subway this place is healthier than the other food choices in City Food.
