Leonor’s Vegetarian Mexican

What a surprise this place was! So close to home and so fresh and delicious. Best part? NO SALT! I decided on a pizza topped with garlic, cilantro and avocado and man, did it hit the spot. Sprinkled with their Spike blend, the flavors were on point and I’m still thinking about it. I just kind of wish they had a vegan cheese option. My bro got the chile relleno with chicken tamale and that was really good as well. Best part was the gooey cheese!

I came with my family and boyfriend expecting to really like this place based off on the great reviews it has about the vegetarian and vegan food. Me and my boyfriend are vegan so we couldn’t eat the cheese because it is soy and contains casein. So I ordered the chikn enchiladas with no cheese and they were bland and dry including the brown rice. My boyfriend ordered one of the wet burritos with «beef» but his was also super bland, no flavor at all. His burrito was not even wrapped in a tortilla, it was like two crunchy versions of a tortilla stacked like a wet sandwich. My family ordered the cheese empanada and chikn nuggets wich they liked. My food and his were just not good at all. They’re fresh juices were really good though the Vampire is what we got but they are not organic. Maybe we came on a bad day. The salads here seem to be have the best reviews but honestly I don’t think I would come back. The service was pretty good and friendly.

This place is a gem! Awesome organic vegetarian food that is pleasing to the soul and stomach! My boyfriend and I ordered three plates, which was relatively hard since the menu is so extensive and looks/​sounds dank. We ordered the Chicken dinner, Enchilada plate, and Chile Rellano. We enjoyed the enchiladas definitely the best. Like seriously worth trying over and over! All the of the plates were LOADED with veggies. Especially the chicken dinner. It was primarily broccoli and cauliflower with a little sliver of delicious soy chicken smothered in marinara and cheese.
Overall great experience. Will definitely come back again!

This place is amazing!!! love their pizza with everything minus garlic. The Mother Load, Joy’s Nugget. Everything is great and tasty. And of course their customer service is on point.

The food was fairly enjoyable. I would give them 3 stars, except the beet juice (Vampire) was SO tasty. The food is not salted, which I actually appreciate. My biggest issue was that it wasn’t clear what was vegan vs vegetarian and the «meats» tasted kind of like cheaper ones I could buy at the grocery store. Plus the soy «cheese» was not Vegan… So, what’s the point then? Overall, I did enjoy my food but I don’t think I’d return unless I was very hungry and had no other vegan options nearby.

I was happy with my overall experience there. I had a tostada and the soy substitute «meat» was awesome, I appreciated all the greens that surrounded the tostada itself and it came with small saucers of salsa fresca and another one with potent green sauce.
I also had the very veggie juice which was great, I felt it had a really impressive balance between being sweet and delicious and being healthy.
I added an order of apple pie to get my grand total with the Unilocal discount over $ 10, the pie was the only lackluster part of my meal. I felt like it needed some melted faux butter to go with it. The crust was also burnt.
I liked the family running the place, friendly good folk, enjoyed a short conversation with them.
It’s a humble human place, don’t expect revolutionary vegetarian or vegan fare here. For the price and company though, I love this place and want to support it even though I’m just passing through on a road trip.

Love this place for Vegan eats! Their apple pie is finger licking good and their «chicken» salad, spinach empanadas, salads are delicious! The service is always great they’re very friendly and attentive!

God bless Leonor’s restaurant. The sandwichese are the best on earth. The mother load sandwich is my go to!

I ordered the beet salad with avocado w a side of forever young bread and wow was it good! ! It had so much natural flavor but if you like salt they have the lysis amino acid (aka soy sauce) that adds to it.
The portions are always enough for two and you get every cents worth! You HAVE to get the forever young bread while you’re here! ! It’s my favorite bread and I hate bread!

Amazing food really unbeatable freshness most important food was delicious also I got a deal of a lifetime two for $ 10 from groupon so all and all the best veggie vegan place in the area.

Salads are amazing and super fresh.

I went here with my parents. We had the guac and chips, garbanzo bean soup, shrimp tacos, and pita chicken sandwich.
The Guac was AMAZING. So fresh and delicious. Chips where just broken apart tostadas.
I cannot say how the soup was only that my dad ate it all with no complaints.
The Shrimp tacos come with beans and brown rice and to all our surprise the brown rice actually tasted pretty good.
The chicken sandwich was ok would of been better had i asked for no black olives — but when in Rome.
Overall the food was surprisingly good for my 1^st visit to the Vegetarian restaurant.
The only thing i will say is that one of the waitress looked mad not really sure why but she just had this look to her and it sortof translated with her body language (at least towards my family).
My parents may go back — I probably will not.

Get the Mother Lode Special and flax tea and you’re all set. Just trust me on this.
Grab the Braggs and put a few spritzes on the Mother Lode. Now, I dare you to tell me that does’t make your tastebuds sing.

I was craving tacos, so my daughter suggested Leonors. She was nervous for me to try this place as I am a very fussy eater.
I could not have been more pleased with my experience here. The server was lovely, attentive and the food was amazing.
She explained that they cook without salt, and showed us the spices to add to our food.
The guacamole was flavored perfectly, and fresh and chunky. The lentil soup was also very good.
This is a hidden gem in the heart of North Hollywood.

Every time I am in this area I try to make a stop at Leonor’s. They have been in business for 30 years and it’s only the last 3 that they have gone completely Vegan with their foods. I have tried several dishes and each time I have been delighted with my selection. One of the favorites is the home made juices and Flax seed tea. I usually get the flax seed tea with my meals.
I usually park in the back and enter in the rear of the restaurant. Now, it’s not much to look at form the outside and it’s not even that impressive from the inside. However, the service has always been wonderful and I feel like I am coming home to have dinner with the favorite Aunt. The woman that works there and serves meals (usually 2−10pm m-​w-​f and some weekends) is a joy to talk to and she always has a smile on her face.
If you love home made chips and salsa, this place does it right and the home made Green hot sauce is amazing (but if you don’t like spicy take it easy on your pallet).
They make their own salsas and vegan cheeses right there and most of the food is made as you order it, so nothing takes caned or store bought.
If you like Mexican food and want fresh, in a bit of a low tech environment, but with great, friendly service, then this a a place to try. The prices are fair and the amount of food you get is more than you might expect. One of the favorites is the «Forever Young» salad made with beets and cabbage and the flavor is rich, with a hint of citrus and fresh apples.
If they would update their store interior and give it a more relaxing feel and polished environment I would rate it 5 stars. I do think the service and food makes up for the unpolished environment and the bathrooms. It’s still a wonderful place to have lunch or dinner. You’ll love the way they treat you like family. First things first, SERVICE is exceptional! then the FOOD! absolutely delicious, from the empanadas to the Forever-​young special pizza to the Chile relleno! if we drove again 40 miles in less than a week to have them, what does that tells you?!!

As a lifelong vegetarian I was so excited to see an all vegetarian Mexican restaurant fairly close to me. I got the groupon which was $ 12 for $ 20
worth of food.
The place is family owned which I liked and they waitresses were friendly. I got the flax seed tea and burrito with salad. My friend got mini pizza with salad. The portions are generous but the tasted was okay. It was bland to me.
It looked like most of the other customers were getting sandwiches though.
Maybe those are more memorable. I felt like the flax seed tea was interesting but it was fairly sweet for me.
Make sure to tell them you have groupon first as well. which was what I was told.

Screw DISNEYLAND! This place is the friendliest place on earth! I love happy places! Oh and the Flaxseed Tea is O-​Mazing!!! I ordered to-​go today! I can’t to explore the rest of this menu. I’m just stuck on this chicken salad pita pretty tuff right now!

Cozy hole in the wall with simple, delicious vegetarian food! It’s hard to find veggie Mexican food, this place is great. :)
Flax seed tea is very tasty! Like iced tea and horchata had a baby.
We had the works quesadilla, a burrito, and the forever young salad and everything was great! If I lived closer I would come here all the time. :)

It’s been a good while since I’ve visited this restaurant, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. My husband and I came in and felt right at home the entire time.
The owner is the sweetest, kindest spirit and her food is amazing. I saw a photo of River Phoenix on the wall and nearly fell apart, because I’ve been a die hard River fan since I was 8 years old. She took the time to tell us how sweet he was, and which dishes he ordered when he frequented the restaurant. I found that to be a testament to how nice this lady is. I just wanted to hug her.
The food was incredible, they have their sauces and flavors down. Vegetarian cuisine is on the rise as it’s become more popular over the years. This shop was veggie before it was cool. Real pioneers, and I hope this place is still open because I loved going there.
If River loved it… It’s most definitely a safe bet.
