I am obsessed this is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the valley. Both locations have great food but this one is larger with full bar. I always get the shrimp enchiladas and they never disappoint. Anything with shrimp is amazing, you have to try it! Not to mention the Bomb salsa and bean dip. Oh and grab a pitcher of beer and pour up some micheladas while you’re at it. LIFEEEEEEEE

Love this place! The best margaritas around! The food is authentic and amazing. Last time I was there we split steak fajitas and they were so good!!! The salsas and bean dip are really good too! It gets crowded for lunch and dinner so parking can be tough sometimes.

I have been living in southern California for 11 years. I’m of Mexican decent and when I say I have YET to find a better sit down authentic Mexican dining experience with service and prices that continually blow my mind and exceed my every expectation I would NOT be exaggerating!!! I live about 2 blocks from this Salsa and Beer location and stop in at least 2 – 3 times a month whether it’s for the generous helping of FREE amazing house made tortilla chips and salsa washed down by a stiff drink or cold beer… Or go all out and do a pitcher of margarita which is $ 18 bucks serving about 4 – 6 good size glasses of stiff booze … Go to the bar and snatch a seat with PEPE he is the best bartender in the place though everyone there is great hands down Pepe is my go to. Now if you get two fruit blended margaritas or some of the specialty drinks it’s $ 18 or more which the pitcher is a way better value. Especially, if you intend to have more that one drink between two people or even a group and you love a stiff margarita as much as I do. Then we get the fajita combo which is a huge portion and comes out literally every time within 5 minutes of ordering and is soooo fresh and delicious it’s $ 13 bucks and between the two of us we rarely even finish it and we can eat!!! I have tried a couple other dishes but I personally love the fajita combo with the flour tortillas which are equally as fresh and delicious. So we’re out the door with tip and tax a good buzz and full tummy for under $ 45 bucks and that is a very generous tip for our friend Pepe who is more than deserving. There are no reservations and literally it is slammed 7 days a week… We, my boyfriend Corey and me, are literally known by first name around here and we sit at the bar always we like the vibe and like being able to seat as quick as possible plus tables can be an hour plus wait, and when you are hungry who wants to wait that long. The longest we have waited for bar seats is 40 minutes but Pepe kept the drinks coming to ease the blow ;))) I LOVESALSAANDBEER !!! Yummmmmy Going now after this review it made me hungry lol.

I looooove their salsa bar! I could get full off their nachos and salsa alone… portions are VERY generous, and everything is layered with cheese. I wouldn’t recommend getting the quesadillas, as the kid’s menu«pizza’ is more loaded and looks way more like how a quesadilla should be than their soggy, limp looking rag. Aside from that, everything else is quite delicious, though I just had their fajitas. The burrito is good as well, but the carne looks minced instead of coming out in big chunks…

I finally got to check this place out. Usually I see a line, but we got lucky, but I guess it was a weekday before the rush. They bring out chips with beans. The beans were mixed with cheese and jalapeños and it was a fantastic treat to get started with. We came here for a small bite, so we wanted to get shrimp and carne Asada tacos and split it. Usually 2 tacos don’t fill you up, but this came with beans and rice which will fill you up. The carne Asada taco was ok, not the best I’ve had, kinda burnt in my opinion. The shrimp tacos were fantastic, I will definitely get that again. For drinks we got the cantarito with patron and a shot of grand marnier. That was good, a bit on the sweet side but it hit the spot. I’ll be back to try more stuff on the menu.

I loved this place so much but they continuously let me down. I bought 3 gift cards back in December. One girl struggled to activate the cards. So she called in back up, the girl came and activated my 3 cards. Today one of the people I gave the cards to was told the card didnt have any balance, WHY?! Why Salsa & Beer? Why are you playing me this way. I even asked her to verify that they were activated before I walked away. So annoyed.

You know how sometimes you write a review on Unilocal and wish you could give the place 0 stars? Well, this is NOT one of those places! I would give Salsa and Beer a million stars if I could! We have been here more times than I could ever begin to count over the years and I cannot believe I am just now reviewing this place. Their food? AMAZING. You can’t beat it. The chips are always fresh and the bean dip is good. Order whatever you want, you cannot go wrong. The fajitas, tacos, burritos, tostada salad, Zacatecaz carnitas, jalapeño carne asada — these are some of our favorites and they are always on point. They do not skimp on meat, and all of the meat is good, especially the carne asada and carnitas. Best carnitas ever — you will rarely find any fat, unlike other restaurants! The rice is perfect, doesn’t compare to other places. Everything is just like heaven on a plate! Side note: the veggies(e.g., onions, peppers, zucchini) often come out a bit raw instead of grilled, so I always ask for mine to be well-done. Then, they come out perfectly grilled! Their drinks? AMAZING. And strong! You won’t find a weak drink here — they know how to pour and they use good tequila. We always do the cadillac or the skinny cadillac margaritas with tajin on the rim. I also do the michelada sometimes with Pacifico. You can’t go wrong with any of the drinks! Service is always prompt, even when they are busy — and let me tell you, they get SUPER busy. You will almost always have to wait for a table, unless it’s a really off-peak time. When we used to wait for a table, or even now when we come with friends, the wait typically starts at around 45 minutes — and one time, she told us the wait was almost 2 hours! However, if you’re willing to sit at the bar, like we do, you’ll get pretty lucky and find a seat relatively quick(usually). We never have to wait that long! The bartenders are also AMAZING! They’re very friendly and never rush you. Shout out to Huber, Pepe, and Sergio — these are the guys that normally help us, and they’re awesome! They have parking in the back but there’s almost always a line/wait when we go because the lot is pretty small. We are always able to find street parking, often right in front, but sometimes it’s a short walk. What are you waiting for?! Just go! It’s worth the drive if you live far, it’s worth the wait if you’re inpatient, it’s worth it all!

Really good food, large portions and inexpensive! Can be a little busy and a bit of a wait but it’s worth it. The free spicy bean dip that comes with the chips and salsa is a nice touch, and really tasty! Love the variety at the salsa bar. Went there with a friend for lunch, we each got combos and three drinks total. Bill was $ 41. Can’t really beat the food and drinks for the price. We sat at the bar and our bartender(I believe her name was Jovite) was very friendly and was whipping a drinks in a flash! I wish they were closer to my house but I’ll definitely be back!

Visit them! I will be going back with friends. 10⁄10 ***Arrive early/try to call ahead for a wait time or reservation if possible*** (let me know if that works?) Amazing for a one on one date, ladies night out, guys night out or even family evening or for no reason at all. Why not go? Do I even need to leave a review? About a million people have probably already said what I’m about to say. This is the best Mexican food – nay, the best FOOD. I was born in New Mexico, was raised in San Diego, and I’ve lived in Los Angeles for 23 years. I thought I knew what good Mexican food tasted like, and then I came to Salsa & Beer. I never have to worry about over-hyping it to my friends. It cannot be overhyped. The cream carnitas will change your life. The carnitas tacos will make you cry. In fact, anything you order with carnitas in it will make you realize what it means to be a food-loving human being. Here’s an exact quote from my then-girlfriend as we were digging into our tacos during our first visit to Salsa & Beer last year: «I eat this carnitas taco, I look at you, and I’m more in love with you.» She is now my wife. I think I need to address the parking/wait situation. Yes, it’s always busy. But they’ve got a SYSTEM. And if you stick to the system, you will not be disappointed. Get in the line of cars, have a passenger get out and put your name in. Download the NoWait app to track your place in line. The friendly parking attendants will guide you to a specific spot as soon as one is open, and you can just wait for your table in your car. I’ve been about twenty times now, and have never waited more than an hour. Come here and let your mind(and your palate) be blown.

I actually have no words. Just, go. It’s worth the wait. You’re going to go tomorrow. You’re going to put your name in. You’re going to not complain about the wait. You’re going to have a few rounds of chips and bean/cheese/salsa dip. And then you’re going to order the California Burrito(shrimp and chicken). Walk away and allow yourself enough time to process what you just ate. Yes, it was that good. Yes, you had leftovers… But you ate them. In the parking lot. Better go back next weekend.

Good Mexican food and drinks for a cheap price who could go wrong? Their portions are HUGE so you can easily share one dish between two people. Chips, bean dip, and salsa are all unlimited, free and fresh(spring for a side of guac you won’t regret it). Very packed on a Friday afternoon but we only waited about 10 – 15 minutes and the staff is really nice and attentive. I got the taquito sampler with potato, chicken, and beef and a michelada as well, super spicy so if you’re into that you will be happy. My friends and I were all breaking a sweat!

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to go to in the valley. I love their bean dip! It’s settled and savory. Also, I like their extensive salsa bar which complements very well with my favorite dish, the sizzling garlic shrimp plate. It has a lot of garlic and it buttery just how I like it!

My favorite Mexican spot in the Valley! If you know me I love a good place with good food and for cheap! I love hole-in the walls, family-owned and places that serve good portions! This place definitely did it for me! Big portioned nachos, lots of meat and for about $ 7 Truly, there is nothing more you can ask for. The food is flavored right and even my Mexican mother liked this place. Now you can go to Taco Bell, pick up some damn value meal and spend about the SAME you would here. Or you can just stop bs’n yourself and come on down! The choice is yours!

Today is Cinco de Mayo, and this place is packed! The wait is 1 hour! However, there’s a lager table in the back empty? Asked and was told that’s for large parties, when I asked the manager Dennis she said«That’s for a large party their not all here, yet» one hour later, and they never arrived! They could have seated three parties. Pooly managed, and the food is not as good!

Im surprised i havent done a review on this place already. Simple thing to let you know: this place is always busy, the food and drinks are always good and its hard to find parking. THEPROS — Food prices are between 8 to 12 bucks. — Alot of different food selections. — variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from. — good customer service. They were nuce and very attentative to what we wanted go order and also gave us suggestions on — the wait for food isnt that long. It possibly only took 10 minutes beforel we both got our orders. –the portions are huge could be sahred between 2 people for sure! — they have a wait line app so you dont have to wait outside if its cold you can sit in your car til its time. *i ordered the enchiladas and they were cooked well and was delicious THECONS –the wait can go up to an hour and forty five minutes — there is no parking! The lot is super small and street parking is like nothing. — it can get pretty loud when its someones birthday I think this place is worth trying at least once.

First of all the food is really good. It’s authentic and delicious Mexican food filled with lots of flavor. The waiters are also very kind and attentive which is a plus considering how busy they are. As the usual with all Mexican restaurants, they provide tostada chips with bean dip. They also have a salsa bar with different types of salsas. That you can grab at your leisure. I have tasted their Asada and shrimp plate, molcajete, and enchiladas(on different occasions — not all at once!). I found all three plates very tasty and flavorful. I especially love their rice. There drinks are also really good. There are two reasons why I gave it a three star rating even though I think the food is awesome: first reason, parking is very limited and you will most likely end up parking on the street. Second, there’s always a wait time. I was told that we had to wait one hour and fifteen minutes for a party of two. A few people left after hearing about the long wait time. Luckily we found two available seats adjacent to each other at the bar, which is an open area meaning you have to look for seats on your own. So, my recommendation is to be there early and plan on waiting for a long time or try your luck finding a seat(s) at the bar.

We were in town and pick this place randomly from the Unilocal list and we couldn’t be any happier! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we had an amazing time! First, every thing on the menu looks delicious! It was hard for us to pick but my fiancé got the steak molcajete and I got the chicken molcajete! The server, although I can’t remember her name was super nice and had a smile on her face every time she went by our table, brought us some chips and bean dip which were delicious! We honestly just kept eating it. The bean dip was amazing we loved the flavor of it. Our food arrived at our table pretty quickly and it smelled and looked amazing! The portions were pretty big and when we took our first bites we were in heaven! The chicken and steak were seasoned perfectly! The rice, beans, guac, and Pico de gallo were also great! All and all an amazing experience! We are definitely coming back! This will be our go to place whenever we are in town!

Basically Mexican food wonderland. Huge lodge full of dark, wooden booths with a large menu and capable, friendly staff who are constantly running around banging their drums and singing happy birthday. Because of all the reviews that mentioned the parking hell, I was already emotionally prepared(!). Waited about 15 min in line to get into the parking lot. You’re gonna be turning into the little cul-de-sac that leads to the parking lot(Troost Ave), and it’s much easier to go west down Sherman Way and make a right into it rather than come east Sherman Way and try to make the left turn. Once you’re «on deck,» a parking attendant will let you know when there’s an open spot, and there’ll be another guy there waiting by the spot who will even sort of wave his hands to guide you if it’s a tight one. I took a photo of it so you know what you’re in for. Two of us got the steak picado burrito… it was heavy and huge and delicious, with steak and potatoes inside. Our third friend got the fajitas and they looked pretty good as well. We all shared the beef nachos, which look like something you’d feed an angry god to appease him. The list of beers is, not surprisingly, extensive. We fought over who was gonna take the leftovers. It’s that type of place. Would come back.

Malisssssimo.
