came to visit twice. first time to think and second time to make sure. told them I’d come pick up table on Saturday or Sunday.
got there and table wasn’t in stock. I asked why I was told it was fine when I said I would come back to pick it up. no answer as to why they lied to me.
offered to sell damaged demo model to me for no discount. I refused. I asked for them to deliver since I was there waiting with truck and they couldn’t deliver. they told me I could pay for it.
demo table had a huge scratch all the way down the glass and they refused to replace glass or discount.
douchebag manager is so incompetent he couldn’t sell a table to a willing buyer. terrible service. scam artist pricing.

It midnight and I’m writing this review to get something off my chest and warn other consumers. I don’t wish ill on people but I sure hope that the owner of this place suffers like the many people who buy his toxic furniture. Over the years I have bought several things at Plummers, now renames Scandinavian design. The furniture pieces made in Italy were good. But the cheaper priced pieces from China are absolutely toxic, cancer causing, full of formaldehyde and other toxic chemical.
I bought two pieces of furniture made in China from Scandinavian Design. Within several days, myself and my husband had watery eyes, sore throats and headaches while being in the room with the furniture pieces. I bought a tester for formaldehyde and it tested off the charts.
We quickly got rid of this crap and feel so much better. Scandinavian Designs buys from China and apparently this is very common. Just look at lumber liquidators and their disaster with the toxic floors. I’m begging you guys to do your research, if you the same symptoms as myself after buying furniture from them, please get rid of it. It’s not worth it. They only care about he bottom line and buy the worst crap from China.

These guys are great! I didn’t end up buying my furniture from here, although I wish I would have. They have beautiful pieces, and excellent customer service. The tv stand I wanted from there just wasn’t wide enough and I had to go elsewhere, but next time I am in the market for a piece of furniture, these guys will be my first stop!

This used to be a Plummers store. Now it is called Scandinavian Designs. Same concept — beautiful, modern and retro furnishings.
This is a large showroom with lots of merchandise for every room in the house. Some very similar designs are noted between this company and Plummers. However, the prices for the furniture overall are higher. I’m not sure the quality is better than Plummer’s, so I’m not sure the pricing is justified.

Cheap quality furniture at exorbitant prices! Wow I was so shocked when I first walked in and systematically walked the entire showroom and looked at nearly every pieces… cheap construction, I was afraid to touch them fearing I would break something.
The prices sure do not reflect the build of the furniture or even the prop pieces. All in all, I’d recommend sticking with the other options around… eg HD Buttercup, Room&Board, etc.
Also, I originally thought this was related to or at least a subsidiary of Scan Design BUT DON’T BE FOOLED!
Scandinavian Designs IS NOT a reflection of high end high quality furniture!

My family has been shopping at this store for over 10 years! The furniture is of outstanding quality and the prices are very reasonable. Amazing customer service! Even the toughest choices of style and color combinations are easily made with the help of extremely knowledgable and helpful staff. Wide variety of floor models and an extensive selection of fabrics, materials for special orders allows you to mix and match and easily create the perfect interior for your place! Oh, and they have the most beautiful selection artwork and accessories too! I’ve just finished restyling my living-​room and will be back to this store soon for some new dining room furniture!

Great place. Great service. Great product. Great prices and sometimes very good sales. I have been coming to this store for years and i will be very honest: The staff here is awesome. The same staff for years. Tom, Victor, Mark, Lucie, Rich. I enjoy purchasing from this store and working with them. Go guys and you won’t regret.

This is the 3^rd time I have purchased item’s from this Plummer store which is now called Scandinavian Design. They have the best modern, unique, and upscale looking furniture and décor pieces at an affordable price. Everyone here was so welcoming and polite. Their was zero pressure from the sales people. I checked out the markdown area and they had some nice pieces I liked. I couldn’t believe the bargain I got. The warehouse manager Victor came over and I thought «here comes the pressure salesmen. I was wrong, in fact he made me feel very comfortable. He answered all my questions and was very patient showing me the items they had. He delivered my item on time and helped me put it upstairs. Really great service! I will go back.

This place is a bit more expensive than I was expecting, but the furniture is beautiful and worth the price, I think. Modern, some vintage touches, really cool looking furniture. We loved it and would come here in the future.
Customer service was pretty great too; we were both wearing shorts, t-​shirts and flip-​flops and, they still paid attention and were nice to us, helpful. That’s a plus!

Even though I had moved out of state where there are no Plummer’s (sigh), Mike in Sales took my call and went to all the trouble of finding and mailing me the connecting hardware and assembly instructions for a discontinued model of desk I had bought from them a while ago. The unrelated furniture movers had lost the nuts/​bolts/​pegs when I moved to the East Coast. Thanks to Mike and Plummers for letting me bring my fab Scandinavian style desk back together. What service and loyalty to clientele even after the sale!

Our couch came 2 weeks late, it was 4 inches shorter than it was supposed to be, and it felt like plastic.

I just bought a house and I feel like a real adult now, which means I need real adult furniture. I hate to say it, but something more durable than IKEA furniture. So I went to Plummers in Pasadena during their end-​of-​year sale and found some amazing retro dining room chairs, but they only had 1 floor sample left. I was heartbroken, because I had my eyes on that style for a while now and the sales person in Pasadena was very snobby and didn’t want to give me the time of day. :(
I was determined to get these chairs, so I phoned Plummers in North Hollywood and Tom «The greatest sales person» hooked me up! I needed 6 chairs, Tom phoned 6 different stores and found a floor sample from each and had them all shipped to the NoHo store free of charge and even gave me $ 10 off the already discounted price. These are white plastic chairs. When I picked the chairs up at the store, Tom unwrapped each chair for me so I can make sure they are to my liking, because floor samples are known to get a little beat up. One of the chairs was so dirty it looked like the dirt was ingrained in it, I started to panic! No problem, Super Tom was there to save the day and whipped out his cleaning tools to clean each chair himself until it was pristine white! I think Tom took almost an hour of his time cleaning the chairs that I got for a deeply discounted price. Thanks again, Tom, you rock!!!

I had bought Stressless Sofas 13 years back from Plummers North Hollywood. When I called the store for repair they got the parts and came to my house and repaired it at no cost. This company is a class act. Thank you Tom.

Worst Customer Service Ever, you can not get into this Store if your not Caucasian, They refer to me just because i’m Hispanic as they were wasting their time, who told you that I do not have Money. do not go to this Store.

Living nearby we’ve bought a few things from Plummers over the years. Our most recent purchase is a 84 inch leather couch with dual reclining seats. Luci helped us with the purchase and 2 days later its in my new den. great price for a high quality couch!

We bought our dinning table and chairs from here and we love it.
They are of good quality and love the way they look. We also bought some outside furniture that we love as well. The prices are ok. All the furniture is modern and fresh looking. We have been here twice and both times have been a great experience.

Worst experience ever. We paid top dollars for shit quality with no quality control. We bought furniture for every room for our new remodeled home. Our furnture was returned and exchanged not once, not twice, not three times, not four times. I can go on and on. Still not to a satisfactory level. Our TV stand was returned 5 times and finally the manager told us that he cannot satisfy the sale because every box he opens is defective. I really don’t know how this place is still open. There is no way that we were the only ones going through all these problems. We cannot be this unlucky!!! NEVER EVER BUY FROM PLUMMERS.

Totally recommend. This place was and always is great. Sales guy Michael is first rate. The folks here are professional and understand how to treat customers. The furniture is affordable and a lot of it is pretty cool. Bought a sofa, chair and some other stuff and was an excellent experience.

I love Plummers!!! We got beautiful couches and a dinning table from here and could not be happier with the quality of the furniture. We must have visited 15 times before finally making a decision but Gary was very patient and helpful each time. Thank you!

I had one of my most frustrating customer service moments at this store and it’s unfortunate because I’ve spent money there and was ready to spend money again.
I called the store on a Saturday to confirm they carried a chair I needed for my dining room set. I was having a dinner party and needed one chair. The person who answered checked the computer and confirmed.
I was able to have a friend loan me his van so we could pick up the chair just in case it didn’t fit in my car. When we arrived, the service desk was busy with customers so we went to the showroom and found the chair we wanted — a nice expensive leather chair to go with the set.
We go back to the desk and wait some more until they call someone from the back and he helps us. We take him to the showroom and show the chair and he realizes I had called earlier to confirm.
We then go to the desk to finalize the sale, I put down my credit card and the process is a bit longer than expected (he’s apparently new) but soon the sale is done and we’re ready to get our chair and be on our way. One major hiccup — the chair isn’t available until 4 days later. They realize they forgot to tell us that before they ran the credit card.
At that point, I decide not to lay down the money because it doesn’t benefit me four days later. We then start the REFUND process minutes after the sale was final.
A manager gets involved and when he understands the situation, he offers one of the floor models from the showroom. So I ask what that will run us knowing that floor models are discounted. I’m thinking half price, maybe 40% off. He tells us that it’s full retail price because they have a couple hundred in inventory and need to move units. What? Full retail price for a chair every Tom, Dick and Harry (and their wives) has sat on in the showroom and I have to pay the same as a chair sitting in storage in their warehouse? So I just cancel. When he hands me the paperwork, he tells me to order in a couple days if I still want the chair in four days. Uh, no.
We have a bedroom set and a dining room set from Plummers. The bedroom set is falling apart (as is the same set my friend has). The dining room set still looks great. They were also a week late years ago when I originally bought the pieces and I had to sleep on the floor.
For the price, marginal quality and poor customer service, we’ll go to Urban Home or somewhere else.

The furniture here is very affordable for designed furniture. They deliver and set up for a small fee. I have a couch and chair from here and was able to negotiate the prices down a bit too, yes you can negotiate here. The staff is extremely helpful and aren’t as pushy as other places like Living Spaces.
If your looking for a place that is more affordable than West Elm or Crate & Barrel, definitely come here. Quality is much better than IKEA and they do have some decent designs.
