I don’t get all the 5 star reviews, the tacos I got were very disappointing. The only thing I liked was the fresh tortilla and the grilled onions. The lengua, which the woman taking my order recommended, was very bland and the al pastor was dry and tough. They do give you large portions, have plenty of seating, and free refills.

Too expensive, 17 dollars for a torta, burrito, and a drink. Never coming here again and that lady was rude. The Horchata made my stomach hurt.

This place has some of the best homemade tacos that you can find. EVERYTHING is made from scratch, down to the tortillas. The food comes out hot and is delicious. Outside of the long wait, which is what it you should expect when everything is made from scratch, this place is great.

Too expensive $ 7 dollars for a crappy burrito, down the street better quality burritos and way cheaper. Rude lady taking your order. Self serve horchata. There are better places and taco trucks around. I don’t recommended this place at all.

I went here at around 10:00 p. m on a Tuesday. I ordered the Asada burrito with cheese. Cost was $ 7.00,my order was ready in under five minutes, but the problem was when I got home there was no cheese on it. I didn’t feel like driving all the way back, so I had to bite the bullet. The flavor of the burrito was good and a good size. I was just upset that I ordered and paid for burrito w/cheese and didn’t get it. I also noticed the inspection grade was a «B»

Really really good Mexican tacos. Not only the trinity of asada, carnitas & al pastor but they have some super good tripas, lengua & cabeza. I will usually start off w/a plate of the«holy trinity» of Mex tacos then go back for the more exotic cuts. Their slasa bar has plenty of variety. The topper is that this truck has a señora making handmade fresh tortillas all night long. It’s a bit out of my way but when I get the hankering for some authentic tacos we go to La Fonda. There is nowhere to sit so we usually bring our own table & chairs and post up with our cooler full of «road sodas» and enjoy the food. On cold nights we will even take our table top dome heater.

I love the freshly made tortillas and you get a lot of meat on the tacos. The condiment area is not huge but enough. I think it’s a little on the pricey side but great tasting.

Some of the best tacos and other Mexican food I’ve ever had. My friend lived a block away from the BOA /Laurel Canyon location and we would hit this up late night all the time. All you needed to see was that neon sign on the back and you knew taco heaven wasn’t far away.

Very good tacos– the el pastor is my favorite. I love these traditional style of tacos with the homemade tortillas, cooked meat, raw onions and cilantro. That’s how a taco should always be prepared. Ignore the B health rating, It’s not that big of a deal unless you are OCD. The food is great, it’s not too far from Valley Village and the service is fast. I just wish they had some tables prepared for people to sit and enjoy but whatever. It’s 1.50 for a taco and it’s definitely worth the money. Four tacos will fill you up and the salsa bar is a great addition!

Absolutely my favorite tacos in the Valley, possibly in Los Angeles. More of a permanent fixture than a typical taco truck — Tacos La Fonda has a reserved spot in a Car Wash/7−11 parking lot, replete with makeshift tables and a tarp cover — they truly care about their food and serve everything fresh.. .including the tortillas, which are made by hand. Typical meat selection — carne asada, pollo, luscious lengua, carnitas — and burritos + quesadillas + tortas in addition to the tacos — plus an awesomely wide-ranging ‘salsa bar’ featuring their verde y roja salsas, as well as pickled onion/habanero, limes, diced onions, radish & pickled carrots. Really, really good food and for $ 1.25 per taco, you can stuff your face for $ 5. Good people, very friendly and an awesome spot — specifically for your late night munchies. Yum.

Best Lengua tacos! Their chicken tacos and carne tacos are also very good! They are open very late on the weekends in the carwash parking lot. You can park you car behind a taco truck, where there is a few spots available. They also have plenty of sodas and other drinks you can choose from.

Some of the best tacos I have tasted in LA. Also have really good horchata. The tortillas are handmade which make all the difference.

When it comes to tacos, I’m a traditionalist and supporter of the taco truck and the hired taco man at Latino family parties. There’s something about standing outdoors and eating a plate of tacos that just seems so right. I discovered La Fonda on a LAWeekly list of «Best Taco Trucks in The Valley.» And I must say, I fully back this taco truck being on that list. They set up on the NW corner of Vanowen and Vineland in the parking lot of a carwash. You can’t miss it. First off, they make their own tortillas. This adds a whole new dimension to the taco. They are warm, soft, yet a bit crispy… really quite heavenly actually. I ordered four tacos; two al pastor and two carne asada. The menu also offers other choices of meat such as chorizo, lengua, cabeza, chicken, etc. I got my tacos topped with some grilled onions. But they have a table with a grand variety of toppings, including four different types of salsas with different levels of picante, sour cream, pico de gallo, and lemons. You can help yourself to as much as you want. What really got me, though, was the horchata, which they have on the condiment table and, get this, it’s FREEREFILLS! It’s one of the best horchatas around. They added extra canela to make it a tad sweeter, but it works! Especially when you are dying from accidentally getting the hottest salsa on the salsa table. I’m definitely making this my go to taco truck…

We had nowhere to go on New Year’s Day and forgot… oh boy… silly us… that many places would be closed. The truck was parked on Foothill in Sunland. We saw Tacos La Fonda and since my boyfriend has liked them for a while(I am new to the area) we were glad to order. The home made tortillas were great! I had chicken and he had the asada. Will be back for more and soon! Wish you were on the street more often!

I love Tacos La Fonda. I don’t mean love in the traditional sense. My relationship with Tacos La Fonda borders on the bizarre. Ok, first off, they make their own tortillas. Yes — there’s an old Mexican lady who smiles her face off as she hand rolls then presses her pillowy tortillas. All these 4 star and under reviews need to recognize that delicious street food is a luxury and they should be freakin’ GRATEFUL! Ok, second off, I go there sometimes twice or thrice a week. They know me by name, they trust me, and every once in a while they give me free tacos because they know that the only reason I have a second mortgage is because of their damn carnitas! Tacos La Fonda, I love you.
