Handyman John – Home Improvements

I can’t give a review of work completed b/​c we never got that far. If you want a socially awkward, defensive jerk to come to your house and tell you no to all the tasks you ask of him, and then he has the nerve to get angry and walk out, by all means hire this unprofessional so-​called «handyman.» I don’t know how he stays in business. My initial impression after he walked in the door was that he was unpleasant, to say the least. After hearing how he couldn’t do the 3^rd task I showed him, I thought this guy is a real «winner» (sarcastically, of course). What handyman refuses to get up on a ladder inside a house, refuses to lift something that only weighs about 40 lbs to assemble, etc. The list went on like this. I would not have hired him based on his awful disposition alone, never mind how frustrating he made me feel when he refused to do the tasks I asked of him. Not sure why he bothered to show up. I told him about the work ahead of time, so he shouldn’t have been surprised. I was curious if he would have behaved this way if my husband were home, directing him the way I did. I do NOT recommend this guy.

We called John for trim work and some odds and ends around our house. He came out for the estimate, and stated it would be a few weeks because he was really busy. No problem. But, weeks went by without a follow up call. I called him three times over a two week period. Nothing. He didn’t even have the professional curtesy to return my calls.
