ABF U-Pack

I hesitate to even give this company one star. First off, I would highly recommend you DO NOT go with this company if you value your belongings. My biggest issue are that (a) they contracted with a shipping company where THE TRUCK TRAILER LEAKED; (b) the trucking company destroyed a hedge in my front yard AND my neighbors lawn; an (3) their customer service and claim processing were absolutely the worst — for (a) the goods inside, I lost irreplaceable maps which got soaked from water that leaked inside (let alone my bookcase) and they assumed only liability (not insured) and paid me per pound for paper products — about 5 rolled maps an posters got soaked from the leaking truck. also (b) the truck destroyed my front yard hedge and ruined part of my neighbors lawn (that part is still processing)
I sent pictures of both damages right away (with a couple hours at most). I called and emailed to get an update and asked for a call back. They never responded to my emails. Also, when I finally called (about 2.5 weeks alter) I asked for a call back which never happened. When I called back 5 days after that they had no update an said they would call me back. When they did call me back they had no update. Now one full month later — I get a call for the damage to my yard and they told me they were just informed about it.
I estimated lost cost of maps and posters — (and bookcase), and I did so in a very conservative manner to account for the most valuable items instead of every single map, and the claims dept response was to say they only covered me per pound ($ 3) and since the maps were light (I gave the weight of the estimated weight of the maps before they were water logged) — they gave me a total of about $ 45 for stuff that would cost me about $ 700 to reprint (and again I only accounted for reprinting say 25% of the maps) or repurchase.- which were relatively light))
So, in the end if you value your possessions and don;t want to have terrible customer service (and claims) DO NOT USE UPACK.

this is a national company that rents «relocubes» that you pack and lock and they transport. They take no responsibility for anything except a truck crash. The relocube was stored in Romulus, MI for a few weeks (outside!) and was flooded by dirty groundwater. A mattress needed to be replaced, books were destroyed, a rug will need to be cleaned. U-​Pack considers this negligence on their part to be part of the liability we assumed by contract. Renters policies do not cover groundwater flooding. Beware. It may seem simple and secure but their claims — safe, waterproof, etc. are not binding on them by contract.
