Family friendly fun for all ages. Even with a budget, we can all come!
Came last month with my son’s ball team and this month with Harding University.

Nothing better than minor league baseball in the summer. I’ve been to about 7 or 8 Travs games since moving to Arkansas and I’m never disappointed with my experience. As far as minor league ballparks go, it’s rather standard — nothing really sets it apart in that category. There’s a sliver of downtown skyline (though it is currently dominated by two massive cranes) off in the right field distance but it’s a typical peri-​urban ballpark. Still pleasant though. Tickets are *cheap* as they should be. You can get an A1 super close view of the action for $ 8. Section 206 is one of my favorites for value. Generally not packed unless it’s a big promo (think bobblehead or t-​shirt) so buying tickets at the box is usually a safe bet.
As for the other important aspects of the game? Beer and peanuts and hotdogs and such? They have a decent selection including Mother’s Lil’ Helper IPA for $ 4.50. You read that right. I don’t know of a single bar anywhere that charges $ 4.50 for a decent IPA. Nice work Dickey Stephens! It’s almost worth it just to go out and have a few beers! Food is kinda meh — just standard fare — but affordable. Even bottled water (and yay for serving local Mountain Valley) isn’t a bank breaker. Thanks for letting me afford water with my beer! I mean it!

I’m was in Little Rock on Business and decided to catch a Wednesday night Travelers game with a colleague. We made the pre-​game walk from the Marriott across the Broadway bridge to the park. The Park was great! If you’re into baseball, the minor league teams provide an opportunity to get close to the game at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this venue.
However; I don’t recommend walking at night from the park even though it’s only about 0.25 miles from downtown hotels. I’m from South Central Los Angeles, and have spent time in Baltimore (think, The Wire) and experienced the most aggressive panhandling on that walk from the park near the stairway for the bridge. It was basically more like a robbery than panhandling. I can’t believe that Little Rock or North Little Rock would not put some type of police patrol in this area after the game. I guess it’s my bad for not being aware of my surroundings there weren’t any other folks making the walk. Turns our LIT is #5 in crime for small to mid sized cities. Who knew? Don’t underestimate this place it seems real quaint during the day, watch your six at night and don’t walk even in small groups, if you’re alone make sure your medical insurance is paid up.
Get it together Police, Mayor, Park manager, whoever thinks a safe city for visitors is important. If a fan gets hurt walking from a game, you’ve just set back any progress made in turning this city around. Get your head our of your ass, you can do better, walkability is a key element of successful cities.

Went here to watch a ball game. I’m not much of a fan of baseball, but I heard of the beer garden here. The beer garden have bleachers for us to watch the game. I sat in front of first base. Not bad!
The designers of the field did a good job. Games are usually in the afternoon so the sun sets in the west. The fan seating has the sun on the back of the stadium so all fans sit in shaded areas.

Had a great time. Stadium is very nice and clean. Plenty of parking that is not too expensive, and the food was good and cheap. I think I have redicovered a great place to spend a Saturday night.

Newer stadium, clean and well maintained. There was no one at the game so they started shutting down food stands by the 5^th inning. I don’t understand that at all. I guess they want to save on labor costs, but it is irritating to go for an ice cream in the later innings only to find everything shuttered.
We visit lots of minor league parks around the country and this was one pretty standard.

Not as impressive as Autozone Park in Memphis but still nice.

Not a huge fan of baseball but a huge fan of the ball park! This ball park is so nice and clean. I have taken my daughter to the bathrooms there and man, they are always clean.
Pros:
Free Wi fi (so I have something to do while hubby is watching the game)
Nice gift shop
Screens are always working
Cons:
Parking is kind of an issue but it’s also downtown so that makes sense.
Beer garden is not the best place for our family because we are allergic to cigarette smoke.
NO more MIDGET wrestling. That is a bummer because those guys ROCK!

I have been to two World Series and several regular games and I had more fun last night at an Arkansas Travelers game than at any other baseball game I have been to. The stadium is first rate. From the layout to the setting to the design it just works. It touched my heart to see so many families there enjoying a great evening with baseball. Dads with their sons dressed as a Traveler or another local team. Made me wonder why I never had children. I love them so much but I am getting off the point. I’ll save that for a Facebook note.
Anyway, my friend and I got there early and ate at Ump’s. The pub for the stadium. I wasnt expecting the caliber of food that was given. Typical stadium food is well nothing like what was at Ump’s. I asked hte server what type of fish was in the fish tacos (being a huge fan of them) and to my right I hear a voice say, «They are catfish.» Well, I am not a big fan of Catfish on fish tacos so I mentioned I wanted the ShrimpPo-​boy. Come to find out she worked there and suggested that along with the onion rings. Tyson was her name and she was the type of person whom I would want working in my restaurant. Very friendly and can carry on a conversation with anyone and make you feel like you have been friends for years. She mentioned that the shrimp would be ‘falling off’ and also suggested the hand dipped onion rings. The Po-​boy was perfect. Tons of shrimp and awesome fried onion rings. Very nice choice. My friend, who is French and a huge foodie, ordered the Corned Beef sandwich. He was impressed with the quality as well. Not something that either of us was expecting. After dinner we went to the Beer Garden. YES BEER GARDEN. Can you say HEAVEN. Tons of beer and wine. Loved it. Close to bathrooms and right field. I am not sure which was more fun watching the Travs win or heckling the outfielder. Someone kept calling him 0 and 5 Scottie. His number was number 5.
Now for the Cons: It just doenst make sense why an establishment such as this that mandates that you have no bottles in the stadium does not serve draft beer in this pub but as soon as you walk outside it is all draft beer. After we had finished our dinner we wanted to go to our seats and had to pour our bottled beer in a plastic cup. I am one for draft beer. It just tastes better. This however will not warrant a dropping of the star because the rest was just first rate.
This 5 star rating is a combination of things. IT IS NOT only for the food. the food alone would warrant a 4 star but the experience and the stadium allow for a wonderful experience for Central Arkansas. I am a huge fan now.
Bring the kids and experience an evening with clean fun that isnt expensive.

Prices: Tickets are available from $ 6 adult and $ 3 kids General Admission, up to $ 10 for Box Seats. Military and Group discounts available. One of the Upper Level Suites is available for rent for large groups or events.
All seats have a great view of the Little Rock Skyline across the river and the majority of seats get some sun protection from the building (key to enjoying a late summer game in Arkansas).
Parking is limited, but the surrounding business lots are open on game days at prices ranging from $ 3-​$ 10 and handle the overflow nicely. Another option is to park on the Little Rock side of the river in the River Market Entertainment District and ride the trolley over. It is less than block walk from the trolley stop.
Food: The layout offers several food stations and several beer stations, so lines are generally short.
All the standards are offered at reasonable prices– hotdogs, peanuts, Nachos, Fries, Cracker Jack, Sodas, Lemonade, Ice Cream, Frozen Lemonade, Cotton Candy, etc.
In addition, you can get BBQ, Pizza from Damgoode Pies, and at Valentine’s (Owned and named after GM Bill Valentine) Chefs Scott McGehee and Jason Nniedhardt — no relation to Jim «The Anvil Niedhardt– offer upscale sit down dining featuring very good (from what I’ve heard) Italian food.
Beer: The usual assortment of domestic beers are available as well as micro Brews from Diamond Bear and New Belgiium Brewery. Wine is also available.
The beer Garden, located in the outfield along the first base line, also the only smoking section, offers seating and tables. Its a great place to catch a fly ball.
There is a family/​group picnic area located in the outfield and all the way around the outfield is a grassy berm that offers open seating and lots of room for the kids to run around.
Checkout the souvenir shop too. Great selection and reasonable prices.
The Travs are a fun and inexpensive night out and the new Park makes it that much better.
Drawbacks: Only one that I have seen yet– There is only ONE ATM on premises and it seems to be out of commission rather frequently. While CC are accepted, plan on bringing cash if you don’t want to deal with a series of sub $ 5 CC purchases all night long.
