J & M motor doctors are the best mechanics i’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in Miami. The excellent work is done in a timely manner– if Mark says the car will be ready on Monday, it is always in fact ready on the exact day it’s supposed to be. They are courteous, pleasant easy to deal with. They diagnose my car well, and Mark always tells me what needs to be fixed urgently and what can wait. Their prices are fair too.
I highly recommend J & M auto doctors– they rock!

The best thing about J&M is the amount of time they do for a minimal charge. They analyze the car and tell you what all needs to be done so the car owner can choose what they can afford to repair. When they make a repair, it seems to be for the life of the car. I have Never had a problem with anything they have repaired. Which is not the case of the last 2 repair companies I have used. They are the best and seem to really car about the cars and the owners.
I can’t say enough about their service. Some may say they are expensive, but it is much cheaper to fix it right once.
They also are the first repair shop I have ever used in Miami that will shuttle you home or to the office from their shop. This is very convenient not to have to arrange a pickup and drop off whey they do this for you. This may be reason enough to use J&M. If you pay attention to the route of the driver, you will be taught the fastest way around north Miami. The driver has found the fastest ways around North Miami, I had never thought of using the roads their driver uses to speed up his pickup and drop off people.

These guys really went the extra mile for me, working double to finish the work on my car because they had promised me same day service.
Prices were clearly explained as was the work needed. These mechanics seemed very fair and left me with the same good impression many other reviewers here have had.

I’m very weary about auto shops in general. Being that I’m in Miami with no family I really need to make sure my car is in tip top shape. I’ve been to a few places but J&M definitely stands out. One thing I admire about them is their honesty. I’ve never felt taken advantage of and I never feel forced into getting my car serviced. And I love that they always go the extra mile. I just had a car operation that cost over a grand and they put in an extra $ 100 of pieces at no charge. In addition, when I didn’t have my car for a day they drove me to work and back and even drove me to school. They really do care for their customers and it shows.
I also appreciate that they are not opposed to competition. I told them I was going elsewhere to get some work done and they were all for getting the best price. I gave them only 4 stars because at times they do seem pretty expensive but you get what you pay for.

Good place to get your car fixed and have a peace of mind that is fixed! BUT there kinda expensive! !! Just wish that they transmissions! I would recommend them to other people!

If you are looking for an expert mechanic you can trust, this is your place. I signed up for Unilocal just so I could post a review. This place is exceptional. It is so rare to find an expert, quality mechanic in this town — and one you can trust! Jude and Mark (the J &M) will not «steer» you wrong, they will diagnose the problem, they will give you a very fair price and they will not try to sell you things you don’t need. (Women, have no fear: you will also be respected here. These are nice guys in addition to being smart and fair). From regular maintenance to horrible car problems and everything in between look no further: There’s lots of places in the area and this is the stop to make. I noticed they won the New Times Best of Miami 2012 for Auto Mechanics. This is no surprise. This is what the New Times wrote:

Stopped by J & M Auto Doctors today for a routine oil change, tire rotation, and also to buy/​install a new battery.
After my oil change, the mechanic came out and told me I also needed a transmission flush and a brake flush. Each cost around $ 150 a piece! He also recommended I use the synthetic fluid, which is an extra $ 150. A total of $ 450 dollars!
Since (a) I’d never heard of such a thing and (b) I’m a young girl in my mid-​twenties and look vulnerable to boot, I thought it would be wise to hold off on the flushes and get a second opinion.
Thank goodness I decided to wait! I called my trusted mechanic back home in ATL and he informed me that a transmission flush is not good for my car. He also said the brake flush wasn’t necessary and that they were trying to up-​sell and take advantage!
Even though I didn’t get ripped off, just knowing they tried to take advantage of me because I’m a young girl with little knowledge about cars is enough for me to never go back!
My advice: If your like me and don’t know a lot about cars I strongly recommend not using them. If you decide to use them, make sure you do your homework (research prices and services online). Also, if you’re unsure of something (service/​price) or don’t have a good feeling about it, it’s always a good idea to get a second opinion! Sometimes telling them your going to make a quick phone call to a get a second opinion will result in them backing off and suggesting only what you really need. That is exactly what happened to me!

Good honest mechanics that our friendly and down to earth! That’s hard to find! I have been taking my car there for three years. They always about half of what the dealer would charge and only do what is necessary.

I’ve been happily going to this shop for almost 2 years now. Since having my car I’ve had a history of taking it to places like Goodyear, Tire Kingdom, Jiffy Lube, and even the dealership. I’ve encountered disappointments and some positive sides. But realized that I’ve wasted money taking to places to Goodyear to do my brakes or oil, or Tire Kingdom for an alignment. Or to a AAA recommended Goodyear who did a poor job fixing an oil leak.
I didn’t know about this place until mid 2007. At a printing company I used work at we moved to a new location along West Dixie Highway. Later on my co-​worker told me about these guys who changed the oil on his car. Basically nothing but positive reviews. So hesitant I gave them a try and told of the history of what my car has been through.
The shop is owned by two men, Jude and Marc, hence J&M. Both are friendly, down to earth. You let them know what needs to be done, they will check it out and fix it.
I thank them every moment I can after taking my car to them of what they have done. My car is a 1995 Monte Carlo, with almost 151K miles. And it’s still running smoothly. Still needs a few maintenance here and there. But to say the least I’ve been really satisfied with their service. And I don’t feel like a woman who’s taking advantage of.
Edit: I forgot to mention that they have the cleanest bathroom of the auto shops I’ve been to! They don’t play!
