What happened to mike??? I went back and some grumpy dude had his feet up on the computer and looked so arrogant and was rude so I walked out. When I asked for mike he was like he’s not here! After I walked out he kept staring at me from the window. If someone can tell me where Mike is. I hope he is okay

Swung by this place on a whim, what a gem. There are no book stores in the North Miami/Aventura area and I’m glad people like Mike are still doing their thing. Mike and I had a discussion about some books for a few minutes and he helped me decide what type of book I may enjoy on my upcoming trip. When I got the final cost I couldn’t believe how low it was that I actually tipped on top of the bill. I will definitely be coming back and I recommend others who enjoy a good book to come by trade in an oldie and pick up something new. Let’s continue to support local business owners.

Lovely book store in a way that is incredibly hard to find in this town. If you love books and don’t care for expensive covers then you must visit this AWESOME independent place. Owner is full of stories that are book worthy.

Bookstore still open. Moved several doors down for legal reasons– mike signed new lease– then decided he did not like it. Decided not to pay rent so he was legally evicted. Eddie bitter because he was owed many months non payment if rent.

STORESTILLOPEN. It just moved a few storefronts down from the original location. Edward is the bitter landlord and Esther if you’re looking for newer, cleaner, more professional then visit Barnes and Noble and pay high prices for the same books. Oh wait, B&N was shut down in Aventura a year ago, so your best option is to download books on your kindle. Places like this don’t exist anymore. Help support local businesses and educate yourself in the process.

After many years of deteorating, this business is finally gone! Landlord evicted them. I don’t think the store was EVER cleaned, and with a rabbit and a cat running around, not to mention all the dust, it did not make for a very inviting place to browse through old books. Poor management did in what could have been a lucrative business. Wish we had a newer, cleaner, more professionally-run option in the area!

Good stuff, friendly service. Kind of a hole in the wall but has a decent selection of used books. Organization at first might seem random… but that is because it is. The guy who runs the shop knows where everything is though and what he has in stock, so you could just ask him if you’re looking for something in particular and not just browsing.

I have been going to this used bookstore for years. Not only do they have a great trader policy but an extensive collection of romance novels which are my favorite. Also, Mike is a very customer service oriented and loves kids. When I take my younger family member there, he is very helpful. He has a cat and has rabbits there sometimes too. I love the fact that its a smaller place in a populated region. Very convenient parking also.

Mike, Janey the Cat and a variety of bunnies inhabit this strange store, but the used treasures you’ll find will surprise you even more than the store’s unusual denizens. The prices are better than I’ve ever seen, and you can also get a further discount from the already rock-bottom prices by turning in your own used books. There is only general organization by book category, and there is no computer system, but Mike is an expert and can help you find any book you’re looking for. Your book isn’t there? Mike will take your number and call you when it comes in. I’ve gotten great used books in like-new quality for only $ 1. If you are like me and constantly have to pay library late fines, skip the fees and head over to Mike’s place. It will be much cheaper, and you’ll probably end up feeling perked up by your great finds and Mike’s friendly and helpful attitude.

Paperback-Book X Change’s owner Mike, and co-worker Janey(friendly store cat), are extremely friendly in helping you find your book needs. Mike’s always wearing a vintage Boston Red Sox hat so it’s not hard to spot him. The bookstore’s really small, but just manages to fit all genre’s of books, as well as DVD’s & periodicals! I love this place, although the Political Science section is lacking in ‘dissidence’ writers. Pros: New and used titles — All used books half price — Discounts on used books with trade-ins — 25% off new releases — Audiotapes & CDs — VHS& DVDs — Cold sodas and bottled water — Plenty of parking Cons: — None This place is surviving on a thread, thanks to supporters of printed material; and not that e-book junk. Even unenthusiastic local’s respect it for what it is… Go to Paperback-Book X Change, and get yourself A REAL education!

This place is a god-send! Mike, the very friendly store attendant, helped me out the entire time… He took all my books and gave me a discount on the used books I purchased. Six books for 8 bucks, awesome! The store is very small a little messy, but you can find the books you are looking for under categories; fiction, classics, cookbooks, so on. Best of all, all the books are cheap even without the trade in discount. Love this place, I’m heading here from now on.

I haven’t been to many used bookstores, but I’ve tried to visit some in every city I visit. I love books, and don’t care if its used. Content! This place is great. The employee I always see is a nice guy who answers questions, will look for things for me, will recommend things, and can engage in useful conversation about books. Everything is very reasonably priced, and if not just haggle! Many books for $ 1 a piece, and most in the store for under $ 5. Conveniently located on 163rd near the mall so its accessible by bus or car. Railing outside is great for locking your bike near the store as well. Highly recommended. No pretense, intimidation, but perhaps claustrophobia. It’s a tiny place! Not all that great if you’re looking for something in particular. Just if you’re looking for something in general.
