We were visiting Myrtle Beach for vacationing the week before Christmas and we literally were just driving back to the resort when I saw this store from the road. Their store is big and sign is very visible from the road. On the whim we decided to go in and check it out. To my surprise, it was very big and probably one of the most diverse selections I’ve ever seen. It went from your traditional Marvel to DC stuff like comics, figurines, collectibles, and busts/statues to animé, manga, ‘kawaii’ figures and plushies, articulated, imported figures from Japan. The items available for purchase hits those of modern interests(e.g. anything Marvel) and there are old school items that hits that sweet nostalgia(e.g. Mega Man). I was actually surprised to see they had a selection of blind boxes of Mega Man so I had to pick one up. There was only one guy working and he was pretty cool to chat with. We briefly talked about random stuff from the Star Wars to the GI Joe movies to the modern day Ultraman manga. I’m actually sad I won’t have a chance to visit this place again because I personally think Myrtle Beach is a one-time visit. The shop was also clean and things were neatly organized. You can definitely tell the staff has a level of pride keeping the shop running tidy which is a great presentation to customers. The pricing were reasonable. Yes, some items could be a buck or two cheaper online but you won’t get the cool experience onsite and having the goodies in hand immediately; for the record I usually prefer online shopping. This will be a rare 5 out of 5 review from me. Definitely check this store out if you’re in the neck of the woods there. It’s worth a gander.

I don’t buy from just any comic shop. It must be clean, organized, and have a top notch staff. I have found this in Apocalypse Comics. I have walked into comic shops around this area, and there are a couple, that I’d walk into and straight away you know that they don’t give a damn about the service or product. They are just there to play games and act cool. They have games, but they are very obviously a comic shop first. And they know their business.

We went here for Free Comic Book Day and it was outstanding. They had so many great things for families, as well as good sales and discounts. The selection they had of free comic books was top notch. This is a store well worth visiting and spending some money at.

While visiting here in South Carolina, I doubted I would find a comic book store, much less a good one. Boy was I wrong. Apocalypse Comics. Wow. A great example of what a comic store should be. The store was clean and organized, and it didn’t suffer from that dingy old comic book smell some other stores have. The items were varied throughout many genres: comics, animé, gaming, pop culture, movies, tv, everything. A very good mix. They were also clearly priced, no having to guess if something was $ 10 or $ 100(very important so as to avoid those embarrassing situations when they say $ 100). The prices were also reasonable, which isn’t common with a lot of comic shops. The store owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He even gave my son a Green Lantern ring for free and without questioning or making a purchase(my son walked in and he simply went over to him and said«Want a ring?», my son was super happy and that means the world to me). He also gave me a free lithograph, which was very cool. If I’m ever in this area again, I will definitely be coming back, no doubt. Well done.

This place was ok for comic books. There is no bathroom and very little gaming supplies. No board games except My Little Pony Monopoly. Their description of being sanctioned by Wizards of the Coast was extremely misleading. We couldn’t find any D&D supplies and the service was horrible. I would recommend looking elsewhere unless you are just looking for comics.

Apocalypse is a very clean, well stocked comic and gaming store. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and are fantastic at suggesting titles and tpb’s. This is a fantastic place to play magic the gathering. Their singles are a little on the high side, particularly foils. The events are well planned, especially releases, tournaments, and free comic book day. Best on the beach!

This is the last place you will ever buy comics. The best Friday Night Magic, Heroclix venue that I have ever been to.

This store is amazing!!! I have been an avid comic book collector my whole life and it wasn’t until I was in DC and visited the worst comic book store that I realized I needed to make sure to share a little about Apocalypse. My family has a place in Myrtle and back in 2007 I found Apocalypse. The owner is awesome! After I looked around for a bit, he came up and introduced himself and asked what my interest was in the comic book world. I’m not a mainstream(marvel/dc) fan so I explained a few of the things that I read and a few of my favorite writers. Immediately, he started rattling off titles by my favorite writers and offered a few writers that were similar. I walked out of there happy to spend over $ 100 because it was nice to have a conversation about my likes in terms of the comic book realm. Since then, I have visited there at least 2 – 3 times a year. The owner may not know my name, but he recognizes me when I show up and remembers the type of things I read, ready to offer more awesome suggestions. This is what more comic shops should be like. Stop here and support the shop!

Been there a few times & I will be going back. They have a great selection of Comics, Graphic Novels & Action Figures. The prices are good & their employees are friendly but not too talkative. It’s a great place for NERDS like me to go a add to our collection. They just need to get their employees to talk to their patrons more, this, most of the time, generates more sells & repeat business. This I know, I have been in retail for over 30 years. Next time I am in NMB, I will stop in again a probably buy another Action Figure for my collection. GODC
