Best place in north myrtle beach. Great breakfast. Place is always crowded for lunch and dinner too. Consistently good.

Went for Friday lunch special of chicken bog. Every time I eat here the food is great. Being local I eat here at least twice a week. Food is always great but the service is horrible. I don’t understand why the owners don’t recognize this. Guess they are just concerned about volume and not giving good service. I will find another place to frequent.

Though breakfast places seem dime a dozen in the area, this is our favorite. Love the tiki vibe and the homemade food. I got something like the«trash bowl» which is a mix of grits, eggs, and sausage crumbles. Heavy, but delicious. Servers were also very welcoming and nice, despite being extremely busy.

We now live in the NMB area, and we come here at least once a week for breakfast or lunch. I almost don’t want to tell people how great this little gem is… only because I can’t stand crowds. Yesterday we had a wonderful experience again. Our waitress should be the model for customer service(I’m sorry I don’t remember her name, but you know who you are). I also listened to her with other tables, she was great. Our food was great as always. Lunch Specials Pick 1 of three main entrees 3 sides and a drink $ 8.19. Heck you could eat here everyday and it would still be cheaper than buying food and making it from Boulinaeu’s.

I haven’t ever eaten a hush puppy that I liked and was reluctant to try one here when we stopped for dinner last night. But with a little encouragement I gave one a try. Wow yummy. Hot and crispy dipped in whipped honey butter they were great. Even cold from the fridge over night the next morning they were good. They were slightly sweet and just the right texture. I had to go back and get more. Something else we have noticed is that a lot of places here serve pink lemonade and theirs was great mixed with the sweet tea.

Great food, friendly staff. I got the shrimp special and everything on the plate was delicious. It’s not your normal fall-off-the-plate seafood dish but certainly plenty of food with 3 sides. My only critique is, the hushpuppies could’ve been better if they were hot.

We found this gem several years ago while on vacation!!! This year while traveling back to Maryland from Florida we planned especially to stop in Myrtle Beach just so my husband could eat here!!! The grilled pork-chops are amazing and the complimentary hush puppies with honey butter are incredible!!! Awesome home cooked meals!!!

We love the Shack! It’s always a must-visit when we’re in the area. The hush puppies with butter are AWESOME. There’s something for everyone here. Seafood(comes fried but they’ll grill it for an extra two bucks) and comfort food make for a great gathering place for an entire family. The atmosphere is ok. Nothing fancy. It’s a pretty small place so you might have to wait during the summer. Decent prices and great local food! Try it!

Nice homey atmosphere. Quick service and competent staff. Stay away if you prefer savory southern cooking. The hush puppies, the greens and even the gravy were sweetened.

I’ve had supper here several times lunch a time or two, I just recently went for breakfast. I got in early 7:15 and already quite a few chowing down. I was seated quickly and had a good hot cup of java a ice water while looking at my choices, i settled on bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and wheat toast. My food came in good time to my surprise, They where getting busy. My food was just fine. Kinda like a mom&pop type place. A lot of locals eat here. I went back the next day had pancakes and sausage left full again. Their seafood is good. The first time I ate dinner in the fall my brother told me he liked their fried Spot when their in season, he was right and they came with a good mess of hush puppies. I’ve not had a bad meal from here. Prices are not bad. You see alot of families here. Something I do like is you can pay at the table.

Looove this place! Good ol’ home cooking at the beach. Fried fish, limas, corn, greens… everything was right on! Service was a tad slow when busy, but the food was still worth it honestly. Breakfast was just as good… service was better when busy in the am, not sure why. But hey, prices are great & people were so this will definitely remain a go-to spot when i visit the beach.

My favorite place to eat in Myrtle Beach. The hush puppies here are delectable they have the density of a hush puppy but are sweet like a doughnut. They run specials all week and have great deals. The place is always full of locals so you know its good. Service stays up to par not matter how busy they get. Every meal is a huge portion of food, you wont be going home hungry.

Great little place to grab lunch, I always enjoy the daily special from fried pork chops and sweat tea to traditional southern food. I used to eat almost 2 – 3 times a week for lunch and was never disappointed. Good prices and good food. It was formerly known as «The Biscuit Shack»

I’ve been here about 6 times and can’t get enough. If I lived any closer to this restaurant I’d weigh 350 pounds. Everything I have eaten has been great and the prices are very affordable. The meat and three combo is impossible to beat. I have a hard time getting past it but the rest of the menu is just as good. Definitely come here and you will be a fan.

I had high hopes for this place since it was Dec and the lot was half full at 1:30 in the afternoon which means local eat here. We both ordered their specials, I had the meatloaf and she orders the beef tips. The meatloaf was dry and barely warm, the mashed potatoes were bland and the green beans were just ok. The sweet tea was good. My wife took one bite of the sides of her sides and all were cold and overdone. Beef tips looked more like sheared meat. Her whole plate was barely touched. I guess it was the end of lunch and we get the cold left overs. We didn’t complain because we were in a good mood from our walk on the beach.

Went for dinner after passing by full parking lots all week — -finally checked it out! Food was wonderful! No bar. Very family friendly. Wait staff was a bit green but eventually got it.

The food was absolutely wonderful and the seafood was very fresh! We went for dinner Friday in August, the place was busy and crowded but we were seated quickly. The waitstaff was fun, attentive, and courteous. They provided us with unlimited hush puppies and heavenly delicious honey butter dip. Fried flounder was very moist and fried oysters were delicious also. The shrimp were plump with perfect amount of crispy breading on the outside. It’s not an upscale seafood place, but the food was wonderful and fresh for a place with a menu that consisted mainly of fried seafood.

Grilled fish, lima beans, green beans(w/bacon), tomato pie, and cornbread all for under $ 10. Food was amazing and tasted just as good as your grandma’s cooking, if she’s from the South that is. Highly recommend!

We came to check this place out the other week… We stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. They were very busy, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. I ordered the«shack attack» and it was the perfect medicine after a night of drinking lol. eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage & home fries. I also got a country ham biscuit and it made for a great snack later on that morning. The shake offers quick friendly service, great homestyle food and excellent prices. This is an absolute must-visit if you’re in the Cherry Grove area.

My dad and I had the steak and shrimp dinner. It came with a baked potato and salad and Texas toast. My mom had the chicken and dumplings. The sirloin had a good flavor and the potato was fresh and cooked perfectly.(I’m always disappointed when I’m served an old or under cooked potato.) I didn’t care for the small shrimp and thought they were a little under cooked. Mom said her chicken and dumplings was excellent and the green beans were very flavorful. For a little over $ 10 for steak, shrimp, salad and potato, I think it is a good deal. We were served hush puppies with honey butter to start but we did not care or them. They were very chewy and seemed old. Over all I would eat here again. I hear they have a great breakfast.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday. This place was hopping! Waited maybe 10 – 15 minutes for a table. Food was good, I had a flounder sandwich and my friend had a crab cake sandwich that she really enjoyed. This has a very cozy, beach feel inside, looked like apt of families were here. Our server was friendly, fun and efficient. Our food came out quickly and was quite resonantly priced. All the plates looked pretty good, might have to hit this place for breakfast before leaving town.

Food was awesome. My girlfriend and I got the crab cake sandwich and it was great given the price. Place serves really good comfort food that’s well-priced and it’s a great spot to have a casual meal that you don’t have to think about too much. Our server was also super chill and had a great sense of humor so he made our experience that much better.

Love The Shack for breakfast. Great, friendly service, lots of hot coffee, and a nice atmosphere. I usually get an omelette with grits and one of their great biscuits. All the omelettes are good. My wife varies between two eggs, bacon, grits, and one of those awesome biscuits. Occasionally, she will get the French toast. The Shack also serves lunch and dinner and I hear both are great comfort food. Someday I’ll make it here for dinner. Great food, great service, good prices: that’s about all I can ask for(except perhaps a second biscuit!)

My wife and I ate here for a late Saterday Dinner. We waited 15 – 20 minutes. This seems like a very busy place. When we went both the restaurant and parking lot were full and for good reason. The hushpuppies were amazing with honey butter. I had the special(could choose from several meats) with three sides for $ 8 – 9. My wife had the senior two entrée special with grilled flounder and fried strips of clam. We both enjoyed our selections. Both were a lot of food for the money. Service was friendly. Location was probably less than a mile from the beach. I will definitely come back. Update: I have gone back multiple times. I beat the crowd by coming right when they open. I eat here every year now! Food is awesome! Brought the in-laws this year for first time. Everyone loved it, and began planning what to get on their next visit before dinner was over.
