The employees at this particular exchange are always very nice and they always treat me with the utmost respect. They always do a great job trading in my old stuff for new stuff and they enjoy talking about music and movies which is pretty much my favorite thing to do. My favorites are Max Erik and Amanda. Keep up the good work guys

Horrible customer service. The MANAGERS there are so stuck up and snotty. I will NEVER come back here again.

I grew up around«The Exchange», previously the Record Exchange. They have everything a gamer, vinyl collector, or video enthusiast could ask for. With multiple chains, they can check their data base for anything not located within the store. Most things are reasonably priced, except for the old systems like Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Sega, which are well over $ 100. They do carry games for all these systems as well. Being a «cool» mid thirty something myself. The biggest bonus for me was when I went to buy some vinyl as a gift. A preteen came up to me and said«can you unlock a case for me?» I had to say sorry, I don’t work here… But, inside I thought to myself, «but I still look awesome enough to be mistaken for an employee.» This is definitely Ohio’s spot for everything audio and video.

They have a nice selection however forget about the buy trade. They give nothing for what you bring in. Most kids and young adults browsing but not buying.

I think this is the best Exchange location in terms of selection. I assume they all use the same pricing/buyback system but I always feel like I get more money when I exchange here(and, bonus, if you did spring cleaning there’s a Half-Price Books to sell off more stuff in the next strip mall over).

With some time to kill before my ultimate game in an hour or so, I pulled in and I found a great time. I would be premature to say it, but it has one of the best selections of cheap used CDs I’ve seen so far in northeast Ohio. In the ~15 boxes of $ 1 CDs [some of which were Buy one get one free], there was an assortment of 2000s indie, rock, a few soundtracks, and a share of late 90s teen pop. Keep in mind, there wasn’t any stuff from early 90s 4AD, Mo Wax, Sub pop, or Warp in the $ 1 CDs, that would be almost asking too much. However, I found some good gems in the boxes after spending some time in there. Not much hip-hop or trip-hop [which leaves the rating as 4 stars], but I’ll take the Young Black Teenagers [a mint copy] for $ 1, and some stuff from a couple local hip-hop artists. Plus, a $ 1 for a mint copy of Tinariwen: hey, customers’ ignorance of music outside of North America is only for my, murray’s and your benefit. I walked out of there with 14 CDs for $ 10, what a steal. I also saw a small vinyl selection as well. I didn’t even have time to check out the rest of the store, but needless to say, next time I have my weekly ultimate frisbee game in North Olmsted, I’ll stop by before hand… too bad it’s the same day as payday.

I love little record store chains. Record stores like this one helped to shape my musical tastes. Sure, the new stuff they have is overpriced and they may not have the selection to choose from like Chicago’s great Reckless Records. I find the beauty in the bargains here. They have a clearance section that is sprawling. In the back, the cds are $ 5 and $ 2. Actually, I was ready to check out when I saw that on top of the new cd racks were a ton of $ 1 cds. I think of stores like this as a treasure hunt. Sure you have to dig through a BUNCH of terrible music, but you find gems. I got something like 9 cds for $ 21? Some of them were older, but when you’re like me and are still picking up things you meant to get ages ago, places like this are so helpful. Ivy, The Pipettes, Spinanes, Aloha, Dambuilders, etc. Some great new stuff and older stuff stuck in the bargain bin for unknown reasons. What a steal. They played Belle & Sebastian and I felt like I was in Championship Vinyl for a minute. Then I realized they had marked all this awesome stuff down to $ 1 so they were not as cool as Rob Gordon.
