Not bad. All hotels seem overpriced to me but what can you do? I paid $ 85 for just myself, reserved by phone at 9PM because other hotels in North Platte were already full.(Why has the«Vacancy/No Vacancy» sign gone out of style???) The owner/operator who greeted me was polite and matter-of-fact, checked me in promptly. My room(#28) was clean although the carpet looked old and sketchy(I always wear flipflops anyway). The room was furnished with some of the upscale accoutrements(ironing board and iron, hair dryer, coffeemaker), microwave and fridge, flatscreen TV. The bed seemed relatively new, not slumped in the center, comfortable. I arrived after dark and departed before dawn, so the outer appearance of the place is something I cannot tell you about. But there was a cigarette butt receptacle outside my door… although it was a non-smoking room! My room was very very quiet all night. This is the older part of North Platte, north of the railroad tracks. The main road(Hwy 83) through town is torn up. This may create some traffic problems during the peak hours but I got there after 8PM and had no problem.

Cockroaches and HORRIBLE staff: Over the course of three hours since my check-in, I killed three cockroaches. Two of them were pretty big. After cockroach number 3, I decided I had enough and wanted to be moved to a different room. The employee there treated with suspicion and asked for proof(which was flushed down the toilet beforehand, unfortunately), and telling me this«wasn’t possible, since we had the room sprayed». Why would I lie about this? Makes no sense(I just wanted a different room, not a refund). Conclusion — cockroaches and BAD customer service.

3 because it is very clean. other wise it would get a 2. It’s dated, old style«drive up to room» type motel. Free WiFi. It’s right on the main road and they were tarring, so noisy noisy, but I’m sure it will quiet down tonight after they quit. You don’t smell the tar in the rooms(I was 2nd room from the street). Upstairs & street level rooms, I didn’t see an elevator… so, if you can’t climb stairs… Keep that in mind. Always on my mind because I’m disabled. I did NOT ask for an ADA room and the toilet/tub/shower area is small. If you’re in a wheelchair this might be a problem… Like I said, I stayed in a regular room. There was a roomy sink dressing area next to the toilet/shower area. Small refrigerator & micro, coffee pot, hair dryer & iron/board. It was the most reasonable price($ 77 includes taxes) available & that was military discount. This town is expensive! The front desk person was friendly and efficient. Look at the dates of reviews… Things change! The breakfast area is cute and, if I partake, I’ll update tomorrow. UPDATE — breakfast is supposed to be until 10AM. But I was there at 9:05 and there were a bunch of empty pans/crockpots. There was 1 boiled/peeled egg left, 2 very small cheaply sweet rolls, some gravy & fruit. Also there was ¼ loaf of white bread, coffee & hot water. Nothing was marked, so you had to figure out which was what & it was not in any order … Crock pots here & there. So I got the last banana, a small apple, and the 2 little sweet rolls and filled up my mug with hot water(didn’t see any tea bags, but I carry my own). There WAS someone sitting in the office, a young woman, but she never came out to see if I needed anything or to restock. Their refrigerator was empty. The breakfast area was empty also.
