I have been annually visiting this place since I’ve been wearing diapers, but haven’t gone in the last few years. This place is a tad overrated and overpriced for what it is, but going here is a definite must, regardless. The lake is absolutely wonderful, and the grass area is always well-taken care of. Service is always hassle-free, and I haven’t suffered any inconveniences during my numerous stays here.

A real hidden gem on the Gulf Coast– relax and rejuvenate by soaking in warm mineral waters– afterwards your skin feels amazing, muscles are relaxed, and you’ll sleep like a baby! Have been coming here for years. Sure do miss the other services they used to offer: massage, acupuncture, nail salon and restaurant as well as the shop with skin care products made with the waters. This place has gone thru some changes in ownership and just reopened 9÷2014… Am hoping they keep it as is but bring back the other amenities(and don’t turn it into some sort of condo development which would absolutely ruin it’s peaceful and serene atmosphere). As of November 2014 Cost: $ 20 for the day Parking: plenty Indoor Showers and toilet facilities Closes at 5pm

I love the spring. Been going there for years. First visit in a while so I was extremely happy to see the positive changes that have occurred since I was last there. The place has been completely updated, redecorated, and enlarged with more spa services and a really wonderful menu in the café. I had a 90 minute anti aging facial with Ana. She was a delight. I am an esthetician also, and very picky. She is a wonderful, caring competent professional. I would definitely have another facial with her. She recommended products which I purchased and love. My husband had a pedicure, he was very happy also. The food is also great. Frankly, if I could pick up the whole place, spring, spa, and café and put in my backyard I would. If you stay in the motel down the street which I reccommend also, you get $ 8.00 off admission. The springs are very healing. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing. I never want to leave.

I wondered why everyone wasn’t speaking English(and I’m not talking Spanish either). I was really sad to hear that the reason why is that only advertise for this place overseas… BECAUSE…Americans can’t appreciate this place. So apparently those languages I was hearing were French, Russian, etc. Okay, it does smell, but that is the healing smell of sulfur. Hey, I do appreciate it and hope to be back again someday. For one, it’s large – you don’t feel cramped. They have a nice little café. It’s nicely manicured. I’d say the main drawback is the price(seems a little pricey for what you get?) and the fact that it’s not really«warm». I guess I prefer«hot» springs because I did get a little cold in there(in October).

I enjoy this place every time I go. It is definitely unique. The water is highly sulfured. It is fun to watch all the older Eastern-European people. I make it a habit to check out all of the ladies’ hats. Lol. The place is relaxing and I feel amazing when I leave. The water definitely tightens and helps the skin. They offer free fun noodles for those who ask which is nice to have when you want to float around. There are also chairs set up to sit and lounge around in either the sun or the shade. Do go earlier because it is $ 20 and there is no half-day rate.

I went here with a friend earlier this week and had a nice, relaxing time. The water was cool, but, easy to get used it. There was quite a bit of wild life in and around the spring. The water does have a faint sulfur scent, but it was not overpowering. Your admission includes two free classes. We missed the morning class(water aerobics) but made it to the afternoon class, Flextacy, which is a variation on yoga. The instructor, Blue, was very easy to follow, and gave us a routine that could be done by people with a number of different mobility levels. Lunch at the café was excellent. I had salmon over a quinoa pilaf. The fish was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. I was also excited to see a pretty good selection of beers, which I didn’t expect at a health spa. I didn’t try out any of the spa treatments. Maybe next time, since admission is free if you opt for one.

I’ve never made use of any of the«spa» services like massage or acupuncture, so my review is of the springs only. The spring is a 1 and ½ acre swimming-hole type body of water, formed by the natural warm springs that send balmy 88-degree water circulating into a pond before flowing out into a nearby creek. It has some historical/archeological significance too, and I have fond memories of seeing fossils from the springs as a child while divers were«digging» at the site. A previous review mentions that the water is salty — it is, and also has a mild sulfur taste/smell. I can’t speak to the medical benefits of the 50some minerals in the water, but as far as swimming goes, its a great place to spend a few hours if you like a natural body of water. While swimming, you might notice that there are turtles and minnows and birds swimming and sunbathing along with you, algae and moss in the water and growing on the rocks. I get that its not for everyone, but for me, its just lovely. The water temperature has the great quality of being cool and refreshing on a warm sunny day, or warm and relaxing on a cool winter morning. On any given day, the other visitors to the pond definitely tend to be seniors, about ½ of whom are of eastern european origin. You’ll see some people wade/walk around the edges of the pond where the water is about 3 – 4 feet deep, while others swim or float in the center(the«deep end» is 250 feet deep). The rest of the facility is pretty low-key. Plastic Adirondack chairs provide a comfortable if not exactly luxurious place to relax, sunbathe, read, or watch the swimmers. The palm trees and oaks provide some shady spots for those who need a break from the sun, and the on-site café has a pretty decent lunch menu with lighter fare. Although its kind of a wonderful paradise in many ways, nothing about this place is particularly fancy or upscale, which is where the price point falls flat(and why this is a 4 star review instead of 5). A one-day adult admission with no discounts runs $ 20. Still holding out hope that now that the City/County have taken ownership of the property, it will eventually lead to a more reasonable admission price. For now, I’ll say that during the cold winter months when its simply too cold to swim at the beach, Warm Mineral Springs is a fun indulgence.

How do you know it was just salt water? Sounds like an uneducated guess to me!

This«world renowned heavily mineralized artesian spring,» is basically a circular pond with salt water in it. Everywhere you look you can see the words«Fountain of youth» written, and you really DO start to feel young and foolish when you realize you’ve just spent $ 20 for the use of a plastic chair and the ability to wade around a pond filled with saltwater and elderly Eastern Europeans for 2 hours. For $ 20 you should really have the ability to use a locker or a shower, otherwise the price is too high. I think $ 10 is more a fair price and may be charge $ 5 for residents. Yes, there are classes offered as well, which include aerobics and yoga, but during my visit there was just hula hooping.
