Doubletree Beach Resort

Our recent stay at the Double Tree Hotel in Readington Beach FL was a disaster. The biggest problem was the lack of Cell phone service even in our room. My calls equate to the number of jobs I book, so not having service cost me more in lost wages than the entire trip to Florida and back. With the exception of Jackie, the beverage manager, the entire staff is rude and non-​accommodating. They all look unhappy and that runs through to the guests. If you are a smoker, the smoking area is in the farthest corner of the deck. It consists of 2 tables, 4 chairs, one ash tray and an average of 6 to 12 people at all times, You CANNOT smoke on your balconies. There are two hotel elevators and one was almost constantly broken, trapping people inside. The other was so slow that it felt like I was in 1960. The room was not up to expectations and ours was directly above the event room. We assumed it was loud because of this but it could have been the adjoining rooms. Front desk personnel couldn’t have cared less that we were uncomfortable and frustrated. By the way, you have to pay if you want to use the lounge chairs on the beach. The amenities they boast are their warm cookies when you check in. We didn’t even get them. A satisfied customer will tell 5 people. A dissatisfied customer will tell 500. I told 28 while having a cigarette at the airport. Giving this hotel a one star is one star too many!!!

Following my previous review, I was appreciably surprised by the properties response. They were quick to address my concerns and offered to reimburse me for the expense. Their professionalism, attention, and responsiveness was very impressive. With this issue resolved, I would highly recommend this property. And the tiki bar is a lot of fun.

The Hotel itself is nice but I would not call it a resort. My issue is that I paid top dollar for a subpar room. I was given room 200 which is 2^nd floor, just above the check in area and the bed is up against a wall that has the laundry room right on the other side. It was LOUD the entire time I was there. With doors for the different laundry being used and the sounds of the machines themselves. I cannot believe they charged me the same rate for this lousy room as they do other rooms that are in much better locations. That room should NOT have cost me what it did. If you get room 200 ask for it to be switched or cancel and find another place to stay. For the price you can find much nicer in the area. On top of the noise from the laundry, there was a tremendous amount of noise from a wedding party. I feel less worried about that because everyone is there to have a good time but again, room location was the issue as the party moved outside by the cars. Again, way too pricey for that room!!! I will not be staying at that location or any other DoubleTree anytime soon. Oh and when I brought it up all I got was oh I am very sorry sir. Thank you for staying with us. Gee thanks.

First off, the staff (all the staff) was the friendliest bunch anywhere. Great, great customer service. The man who checked us in on Friday, May 27^th about 10 pm was welcoming, funny, and helpful. (Cookies are so, so good.) The housekeeping staff always gave us a cheerful hello and when they saw us leaving with suitcases on Monday, wished us a safe trip home.
The room was clean and I loved the layout with the bathroom on the opposite side of the closet from the bed. (We chose a top floor nongulfside room.) The option to keep the fan running constantly with the AC helped me sleep – I usually sleep terribly in hotels.
We only had room service once for breakfast but it was quick and good – Doubletree cookie waffle is insane. I love that you can get Starbucks coffee and espresso drinks at the bar in the lobby. The frozen drinks from the tiki bar near the beach were good (mango daiquiri and lava flow). I have to say I was concerned that the tables in the hot sun at the restaurant had mayo bottles sitting out unrefrigerated with the ketchup and mustard bottles, but we never ate there.
It was Memorial Day weekend, so I’m not sure if it’s always so insanely busy, but the beach was pretty small and packed and all the hotels on the beach are so close together that all you can see are people anywhere you look. (We stayed in the water 95% of the time.) Not my cup of tea, but the rest of what the hotel had to offer made it a great place to stay.

Stayed on the 4^th floor (Honors floor) — the hotel is very dated but clean, beds linens are clean and my bathroom was renovated and looks modern. Probably 4 stars if I got a room on the Gulf side, otherwise the street view is less than desired. The room AC/​fan works with the thermostat for those who hate it when the fan runs continuously (major pet peeve for me). Decent Samsung 40″ LCD HDTV with ESPN, Golf and 5 HBO HD channels and compact refrigerator. Honors member receive full breakfast buffet.
I was here on a business trip to see if I might want to take the family next time — possibly if I could guarantee a gulf view room.

This hotel needs serious updates. Other than the beach front view, the rest of the hotel is worthy of 2 star review. If you are paying Sheraton level prices at this hotel, you should really reconsider your money worth. The most unpleasant experience was the front desk staff was rude and unwelcoming. This is totally unexpected at a Hilton chain.

I love to stay here! All of the staff are just plain nice. We checked in last night with a kayak on our roof. They watched the ramp as we came and went so we could get in and out of the parking lot. They assured us they would give us one of their parking spaces if none were available to accommodate our kayak. The room was wonderful too. Being nice, friendly and great hotel that you can count on goes a very long way. Thanks Lori and Joel!

Is very dated. Room was comfortable. It’s worth the extra money for a room with an ocean view.

I booked this hotel for a few reasons:
1. I had Hilton points and got a night for free.
2. Great location.
3. I’m Hilton loyal and know that I can trust that their hotels are nice.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Located right on Redington Beach, Doubletree is in a great spot. We were greeted «warmly» with fresh chocolate chip cookies. We were checked in within minutes. We were very happy with the size of our room.
We took advantage of the beach bar and enjoyed our cocktails and drinks there. It is very nice to have the option to just go downstairs for a drink. The beach in this area is gorgeous and we spent time laying in the sand and by the pool.
I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice yet affordable hotel on the beach!

Awesome hotel. The staff here is top shelf… everyone from the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant employees are very friendly and truly seem to care about your stay. The hotel’s location is perfect and is in driving distance to several good bars and restaurants. The beaches are clean and not over crowded. I recently stayed here in DEC 2015, and just rebooked for another stay at the end of JAN 2016. Close to St Pete Beach and Clearwater. 5 stars.

Wir hatten uns nach längerer Zeit entschlossen wieder einmal 2 Nächte in diesem (bis dahin) prima Hotel zu verbringen. Nachdem wir mit dem Aufzug aus der Tiefgarage in der Rezeption ankamen hatten wir schon ein komisches Gefühl, es war alles etwas anders als wir es kannten, es war halt abgewohnter. Der Eindruck verstärkte sich dann auch noch als wir im 3. Stock aus dem Lift traten und den Flur entlang zu unserem Zimmer gingen. Als wir dann im Zimmer waren war es eindeutig, das Management hat die letzten Jahre nicht‘s Investiert um das Haus angenehm und «frisch «zu halten. Das fanden wir nicht gut und entsprach auch gar nicht dem Preis den wir für das Zimmer Bezahlt hatten. Nun ja wir hatten zum Glück ja nur 2 Nächte Gebucht. Das Hotel war Sauber aber halt Abgewohnt. Aber das Haus hat halt direkt auf dem Strand eine tolle Lage, und von unserem Zimmer hatten wir einen tollen Blick auf den Golf.
Ansonsten kann man sagen dass das Personal insgesamt sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit war. Wir hatten mit der «Managerin «auch im Flur ein kurzes Gespräch Betreffes der Qualität des Hauses, auch hier wurde uns gesagt das man im Moment beginnt alles zu Renovieren. Für uns kommt das aber leider zu spät.So gesehen kann ich das Hotel für den Preis der hier Verlangt wird Überhaupt nicht Empfehlen. Ich glaube auch nicht das wir hier jemals wieder herkommen werden.

I was slightly concerned this long-​standing hotel would be below average but we were pleasantly surprised. The service was quite friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the maids to the waiters and waitresses. Everyone truly went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied.
With the ocean right outside our window, we got to see dolphins swim by and beautiful sunsets! I do need to mention that the food scene nearby is marginal at best so make sure you have a car to head inland to restaurants far from the touristy-​beach-​fare.
We look forward to returning the next time I decide to live on the beach for a while!

Had a great stay this weekend! The room was nice and the bed was comfy. Our view from the 6^th floor gulf side was perfect. Private balcony was also great. Lots of restaurants and eateries within walking distance. The tiki bar was a great touch too. Check-​in was a little long winded, but Im sure they just wanted to be thorough. Id love to stay for longer.

The best thing the DoubleTree has going for it is its prime location on the beach. It also seemed to be the only big name hotel in the immediate area. Our stay was fine, but nothing special in comparison to other DoubleTree locations we’ve been to. There’s also not much within walking distance so be prepared to either drive everywhere or eat most of your meals onsite.

Although the room décor was a little out dated it did not matter. I paid a tad bit more to secure a gulf view room which was well worth it. Checking in was a breeze and although we got there before check in time we were able to start the process and the front desk gave us a call once our room was ready. Once we arrived we didn’t have to leave the food was great and reasonably priced as were the drinks. The hotel doesn’t offer beach chairs but they are available to rent by a 3^rd party. The hotel does provide towels to be used at the beach or the pool. Parking is available free of charge as well as wifi.

Ok let me make it clear, I did not stay at this hotel BUT I came to the lobby and met the manager on duty who was absolutely Devine and hospitable. I rented beach chairs from the vendor on the beach by the property and their service was 5 Star. $ 25 for umbrella and chaise, they rotate the umbrella for you every few hours. The ocean was warm like bath water, clean, clear and delicious. Overall awesome place, great for families or solo, available street parking, clean city. Will be back tomorrow.

This was our second trip to Doubletree in North Redington. We can’t imagine being anywhere else on the beach. The staff makes you feel like family from check-​in to check-​out. The rooms are impeccable! There is so much camaraderie found on the beach with other guests. The beach cabana concession run by Kevin is an experience as well. No one knows sun and tanning better than Kevin. Cannot wait to return to our Hilton resort on the beach! It is truly one of our favorite places on earth!

This place was a good buy on Hotwire and was very enjoyable! Our room didn’t face the Gulf but who wants to stay in their room during their vacation?! Absolutely gorgeous beach, white sand, and stunning sunsets. The tiki bar outside the pool had reasonable prices for food and drink. Although the pool was small, it was fine for us as we were here during the weekdays and it wasn’t too crowded. The Gulf is just steps away to enjoy the salty waves. Very friendly staff here and very accommodating. They gave me extra warm cookies, the ones they give to guests upon check-in…on our fourth day :-) Staying on Gulf blvd. was very convenient to other beaches, restaurants, and stores on the Gulf coast. Enjoying our last day relaxing by the pool. We would definitely return here!

I contemplated giving them 4 stars because their pillows suck, but I couldn’t as the staff was so wonderful. I’ve been to more than 50 countries and have stayed in hundreds of different hotels and never had I experienced such nice staff. Every staff member I met (around 12) were genuinely nice people, not just putting on a nice façade for work.
The room was clean and seemed to have been renovated in the last couple of years. The internet was good and the bed was comfortable. The only issue with the hotel was the pillows. Twin size pillows on a king size bed that go completely flat and don’t support your head.
The location is right on the beach. I didn’t get to use the beach as it was too cold, but it was a beautiful and clean beach.
The hotel restaurant Mango’s is okay, but that’ll be in its own review.

This is the #2 busiest DoubleTree in the nation for occupancy after the NY Times Square location! It’s a clean hotel, friendly staff. We booked the side facing away from ocean (since Oceanside wasn’t available,) and on the 6^th floor you get a view of Boca Ciega Bay which was a nice surprise!
Cookies and free breakfast are a plus. I would stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay for 4^th of July weekend with great staff and pretty good food.

We found the rooms to be very comfortable, clean and well-​maintained. The hotel sits right on Reddington Beach, so it’s a very short walk from room to water. Unlike a lot of the beachside hotels, Double Tree offers plenty of parking for both guests and visitors of those guests.
The food is solid. For breakfast, we had a free voucher for the buffet. I’m not sure what they normally charge, but it would have been worth it. It was pretty stacked up. 2 different types of scrambles eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, bagels, bread, french toast, granola, waffles, cereal and an omelet station. Everything was pretty good, except the sausage. It was super bland. They should seriously consider a different brand.
For lunch, we ate at the bar while watching Colombia get smacked by Brazil in the World Cup. We ordered grouper fingers, chicken quesadillas and sliders. All of which were tasty, with the best being the quesadillas. The restaurant is called is open to the general public walking along the beach.
Fair warning though, the average guest age here is on the high side, so if you’re in your 20’s and looking to party hard, they will shut you down quick as hell. We got a little rowdy one night and security was at our door quicker than you could say «Independence Day.» So just keep that in mind.
