This store was a 24 hour show place when it first opened some years back. Then about a year or so ago they started«re-arranging» everything to the point where people were confused and could not find things. The corporation or manager at that time should have stopped the mess they created. The selection is good, but the bakery needs to jazz things up — they never ever make HARDCRUSTED french dinner rolls, but they did make the most delicious lemon meringue pies this August. The cakes are sometimes mismarked, if you want a yellow cake, good luck — most are white or chocolate. They stopped making all yellow cupcake six packs, i was told you have to special order those — — really? The meat selection and olive bars are very good. The prob. that needs fixing is too much clutter crammed in the aisle ways — almost as bad as Marcs… make this store elegant, and organized once again like its glory days. The staff are all very nice and hard working.

The market district steaks behind the counter are shockingly the best in the area. I never thought that GE would have consistently better marbled steaks than every local butcher I visited within 45 miles. Only problem is that the steaks can vary in thickness and are generally cut at 1″ and I prefer a 1.5″ steak. When I have time I will see if they can cut thicker steaks for me or if am limited to they’re precut steaks.

Although Marcs is our primary grocery store for produce and dairy and some canned goods, Giant Eagle has better meats and a wider selection of products. Compared to the GE on Broadview Road, we really prefer this location for many reasons. It is easier to maneuver around to find things. The staff is so much friendlier. Giant Eagle doubles coupons and offers fuel perks that add up. All in all my wife and I prefer Giant Eagle to Acme and the other stores we have within our community area.
