Have been here once. Appears to be a family ran business that takes pride in their food. The deli meat was high quality. If you like a lot of meat you will not be disappointed! My husband and I both were impressed with our sandwiches. The owner was very friendly. Look forward to going back for our second sandwich

This is one of the best sandwich places I’ve come in contact with in a long while. My fiancé and I had been staying at a hotel near by(Bellissimo Grande, highly recommended as well), and we wanted a quick but delicious lunch. Owner recommended a juicy turkey sandwich with a homemade apple chutney and cranberry bread. This was one of the best combinations of flavors in a specialty sandwich! And the owner and his sons created a great, welcoming vibe. The youngest son knew his dessert and found a way to get my fiancé and I to each leave with an incredible homemade dessert in hand. I had their strawberry shortcake which was delicately put together with a sweet homemade frosting right in the center with the airy lightness of a whipped cream. My fiancé ordered the French toast bread pudding with sweet cream on top and just the smell alone had me asking my fiancé to have a bite. Savory and sweet at the same time and the bred just melted in my mouth. Highly recommend!

Really yummy and creative sandwiches all named after Monty Python! Seems like a family run place that really cares about the quality of their food. I got the French taunter with chips and everything about it was done perfectly! Not your average turkey and cheese sandwich shop that’s for sure!

So you say your sandwich is boring? Meh? Why pay for a sandwich? Well, Mike and his family got the sandwich right and when you go to this place, you too will see that sandwiches(and other foods!) are not boring! And«fresh» is the word of the day on all fronts! By recommendation from a friend, I made Mike’s place a destination with my friend. We really needed a day away from the stressed of life. So, Mike, little did he know, was going to be on the hot seat when we came in to try his stuff. And boy, did he deliver. We went in for our French press coffee to start with. Only $ 5 got us a full press, my friend’s coffee was iced and mine was hot. We split the order. And the flavor was wonderful. There are lots of beverage alternatives, all fresh and served with a smile or two. I thought I could snag Mike in the area of cookies so I got one of the biggies(only $ 2) thinking they would be dry and stale. Wrong on my part. And as we drank our coffee, we were treated to a homemade meatball that was one of the specials of the day. Every day, there is a special, along with unannounced sides to keep you guessing and to surprise you. The meatball tasted like REALMEAT, had a super flavor, and we had a fun time analyzing what was in it. Don’t worry, we won’t tell, Mike! After a little playing at the beach and shopping, talking, singing, and praying, we ventured back to try the food. My friend and I shared two different things because we wanted to try as much as we could. We tried the«Tim the Enchanter» which featured roast beef(a good amount of it, too), bacon, roasted peppers, fresh pesto mayo, and fig jam on a swirled rye. Heaven! We also tried the«Robin’s Minstrel» with roast turkey, herb aioli, smoked gouda, apple-yam chutney(yeah, you read that right), romaine, on whole grain cranberry walnut bread. Another outstanding choice. The menu says, «try me!» all over the place! Would I go back? Yes. I would get something to go, too. Lots of happy people in the restaurant. The sides of the day were a kamut, fig, and other dried fruit side and a zit with thai peanut sauce. I couldn’t bear to succumb to the other choice(potato chips) when I could have all the other good stuff! So, try it. You’ll like it. At Press On!

Great food, family, and unique sides. Backend chicken and sharacha rice both had good levels of heat. More then expected for a restaurant because most tone it down, but not to hot. A great little jem in N Stonington.

Fantastic sandwich shop! The bbq wrap was the special and it was delicious. Also had a roast beef sandwich that had a generous portion of fresh meat with a cheddar crust on sourdough bread. Also had French press which was amazing. The owner was so nice and friendly and enhanced the dining experience.

This sandwich shop makes me happy. My little family went in today and not only had amazing food, but amazing service to go with it. The owners really cares. The way he talks about the food shows just how much he truly cares about what he’s giving his customers. He knew we were stopping in for the first time because he didn’t recognize us. His son(s) were in there helping him learning the business. Such a neat thing to see. The food was amazing. We all argued about who’s was better. All thinking they got the best. We ordered– the bbq chicken wrap special, the French taunter and the Tim the enchanter. The bbq chicken wrap was amazing. The chicken was warm and had a nice amount of bbq sauce, but the fresh ingredients were left on their own to stand instead of being drenched as well. Perfect layers for the wrap! The taunter was great! I’m a sucker for sourdough!(this was my sons so it was the one I got the smallest bit of… the little hog). The Tim was hands down the best sandwich I’ve had. The fig jam was an addition I never would have thought to add, but it really made the difference! We got the thai rice and potato salad on the side. Both were good, but I will for sure get the potato salad every time we go in if its offered! So yummy! This place was absolutely worth the 20 minute drive for us and I can’t wait to become regulars!

Had the soup. Squash with crab. Very good. Much better than a chain restaurant. You can tell everything is prepared from scratch.

Great service here. I think it was the owner behind the counter. He was very genuine and nice. I liked my Mediterranean salad with creamy garlic dressing. I really love that dressing. I would definitely return to try something else. I also like the bridge keeper, trojan rabbit, tomato gnocchi soup, and strawberry shortcake. Definitely the best sandwich place in the area. I love the mini sides too.

Amazing food. To be transparent, I’m good friends with the family that owns the shop. He’s been encouraged to open up shop for himself for years… That’s finally happened. His food is amazing. Please/simple.

We stopped here before visiting a relative in Westerly, RI. Great little place. Friendly people/owner? behind the counter. I had the sandwich special that day, a BBQ roast beef sandwich with a side of Thai Peanut Pasta! Great! Our only issue was when my Wife ordered a cheese sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, provolone cheese and the fig spread, we were asked if she wanted it grilled. She said No, just plain… But it came to our table grilled. We explained the issue and the Chef took back the sandwich, remade it and gave us 2 blondie squares on the house as well. Totally not expected but truly a great gesture. We saw lots of customers coming in and out during our visit and all were met with a sincere Hello and How are you? We wish this place was closer to us. We would be regular visitors!

Stopped here for lunch while driving home to NJ with no regrets. Very clean and modern looking, sandwiches were made fresh to order. I ordered the«bridge keeper» on a spinach wrap which reminded me of a chicken ceaser wrap. Inside it was stuffed with fresh romaine, house made croutons, chicken and house made creamy garlic dressing, also served on the side with a little cup of balsamic pasta. My only complaint was that there could have been a little more chicken. My wife had the«Robin’s Minstrel» and she loved everything about it down to the fresh artisan bread loaded with cranberries and various nuts. All in all, this place offers a friendly staff, a small town shop feel and great food so if you’re in the area and feel your stomach growling your in good hands stopping at Press On.

We were looking to grab a quick sandwich while passing through town after an appointment. We just wanted a quick bite before we parted ways & I was going on to another appointment(I’m a realtor) & my fiancé needed to catch a flight. My first impression was warm & welcoming as we were greeted by Mike(the chef/owner) & his son who were both very nice & made us feel like friends in his«home». He immediately knew we were«first timers» as he stated the fact that we «hadn’t been there before» as he «didn’t recognize us»! He proceeded to tell us what his specials were & what the favorites were while engaging in light conversation with us(it was a quieter time as it was past lunch time — 3:30ish). The décor was nice & intimate — tables & also leather sofas for a relaxing feel. I chose a turkey sandwich(built my own) with pesto mayo on a whole grain bread(brought in from a bakery in CT) with really good bacon(note: bacon was not that microwaveable thin stuff some places are serving) & lettuce. My fiancé had one of their signature wraps(forgot the name of it). Both were fresh & made with high quality ingredients! We will return & I’m sure it will be often. I’ll make it a point when I’m in the area but also won’t hesitate to drive the half hour for a good lunch or to try their breakfast. The next time I will make it a point to try the homemade soup, baked goods & the most certainly the French press coffee!

Small sandwich shop that’s hard to pick out if you don’t know the area, but with the best turkey sandwich in town. I wish there were more sandwich options, but I would not hesitate to order Robin’s Minstrel(sandwich’s name) again! :-)

On a recommendation by a friend, I tried Press On for the first time today. It was about a half-hour ride to get there, but let me tell you — COMPLETELY worth it! When you walk in, it’s this cute little bistro kind of feel to it. There’s a counter with seating, a couple of leather chairs, and several small tables. Looking around, the décor was simple but comfortable, and I liked the place as soon as we entered. There was a sign on the cooler telling us to order and pay at the counter, which kept things from being confusing. I would have probably just sat down and waited for a server, so the post that was up made this easier. There were a few customers in the place, and the counter was filled with what I assume were the owners children. No problem — they were well behaved and quiet, so that was just fine with me! We chose a small table right in the middle of the place. We placed our order at the counter, and one of my favorite things about the place is that the specialty sandwiches were all named after characters from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It’s goofy and silly, and I loved it. The wife ordered the Robin’s Minstrel with a side of potato salad, and I ordered the Holy Grail with chips. The beverage selection was a little limited, but that’s fine — it’s appropriate for a small place with a «feel» like this. I did like that I could get a Coke in a glass bottle. Again — silly, but cute. It took about 5 minutes for our food to come up(delivered to the table) and as soon as she put the baskets down, I knew I was in for a treat. My Holy Grail was a nice variation on the classic pastrami reuben. In addition to all the normal ingredients, they add a pickled egg and coleslaw. Nothing huge, but it absolutely made the sandwich that much better. The combination of flavors and textures were just incredible. I loved every bite! And I had the whole thing gone in less time than it took my wife to eat half of her Robin’s Minstrel. SO good. Just loved it. It was so tender and juicy that the bread could barely hold it together. Again — no problem. Finger licking good! The price was not too bad. For both lunches we spent about $ 25. Can’t complain about that, especially when it was just SOGOOD. They had a Southwest Chicken Corn Chowder on special, and I wish I would have tried it. If they put as much effort and flavor into their soups as they do their sandwiches, I’m sure it was a homerun. I look forward to coming back and tasting other menu entries! And if I’m ever in the area around breakfast time, I’ll be doing that too! Great job, Press On — you’re a hidden gem in my hometown!

I had the Robin’s Minstrel here and it was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere; the shop is owned and run by a family. All the food is home made and the breads are all from local bakeries. Really amazing choice of artisan sandwiches, I will definitely be coming back for more.
