Good food, fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere, and a very friendly proprietress overshadow the obvious rough edges. Portions are very generous.

This lunch/​dinner restaurant has a varied salad, sandwich menu, plus lunch and dinner specials. The food is fresh, delicious, and comes in generous portions. We got the special — steak shish kabobs with a dinner salad, delicious bread, real mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob — all for $ 9.99! The iced tea was freshly brewed, and the cheesecake was accompanied y freshly sliced pluots (a plum/​apricot hybrid). The owner uses fresh, local sources whenever possible. The café has an open floor plan with simple tables. Open 11 – 8 Monday-​Friday and 11 – 2 Sunday. This is the restaurant we’ve been hoping for when visiting Tazewell! They also have several Greek dishes we’ll definitely try when the special isn’t as tempting.
