Everything about our dining here was outstanding — food, service, ambiance. Highly recommend.

I dined in on Valentine’s Day this year as a first time visitor to Webster’s. I wanted a warm, romantic evening and that is what I got. Based on high reviews and pictures alone– I went in with high expectations. My experience later exceeded those expectations. My partner and I loved every second of our time here from the moment we walked in. The place is small, but not cramped inside. I was able to focus on my conversation without feeling I could hear everything else going around with others around me. The décor is light, clean and classy but no one acted pretentious, something I appreciate at a finer dining establishment. We had reservations(since two weeks ahead of time) and they called me about a week ahead of time to see if I could come in for an earlier slot. When I could not accommodate that request, they said no problem, confirmed my originally selected time with a cheery, professional demeanor, and ended the call. Upon arriving that evening, our table was ready as soon as we approached the gentleman at the podium. He was very friendly and prompt. They do have a bar area as soon as you walk in but it was so relaxed along the bar, I nearly forgot it was there. The real treat was our server– she was really the element that made it an incredible time to dine there. She was charismatic, friendly, thorough, and extremely attentive. She truly made us feel like guests and I would return again based on her service alone in a heartbeat. The food was prepared well. Both my partner and I tried the salmon wellington. I requested a side of the sauce that is lightly added to the dish because the pastry part was dry out of my personal preference only(given to me at no additional charge). The pastry was perfectly crispy and flaky and the salmon was some of the best I’ve had. Our meals paired well with the wine, I forget which kinds we ordered… we had both a red and white. For dessert we had crème brûlée and it was fantastic. That’s all I can say about it. Try it. As I’ve taken so long to Unilocal this review I cannot recall if we had an appetizer but I do know I left feeling incredibly satisfied with my meal in terms of a satiated appetite. I recall being pleasantly shocked that the bill was not as much as I was anticipating. What you do pay for the entire experience there is not only fair, but worth it. They do have a patio area on the side and I cannot wait to pay another visit during the warmer months. At Webster’s, the ambiance is inviting and warm. The service is top notch. They did everything right, the way dining should be. They surely have gotten another return customer in me and I couldn’t find one issue with my experience there if I tried.

Fabulous dinner Saturday night, great food and great atmosphere. The French onion soup was superb, wonderful favors of different cheeses in a perfect broth. For our entrees we had the Chicken Francaise and the Short ribs(Beef Bourguignon). The short ribs again were cooked to perfection, fall apart meat with al dente veggies. The chicken was tender and the lemon favor was very delicate. The finale was truly grand, a coconut cake. OMG I loved every bite. I could not eat it all(I was so stuffed) so I took it home and the next morning it was the first thing I put in my mouth. It was absolutely delicious, a fabulous dinner and evening. My compliments to the chef, our server and the owner.

I have been to Webster’s probably 4 times now and it has always been amazing. No complaints here. Last night I had 2 different St. Germain cocktails, both delicious. I also had the crab croquettes and the duck confit and I highly recommend both! The service is always great. My family comes here a lot so the owner always stops by to say hello. He might do that with everyone but either way it’s always nice when owners do that. If you’re in the mood for a light dessert, the crème brûlée is a must. Can’t wait to go back!

After driving by several times my wife and I decided to finally try. We both had seafood dishes and I highly recommend the bouillabaisse. My wife had the Ahi tuna and while the dish came a little over cooked from the rare she ordered, the flavor was excellent. We will definitely try again.

Me and a few of my friends went for dinner on Saturday before the theatre. Very nice place. I had the Valentines special. I started with the lobster bisque and let me tell you it was amazing and a great size portion. For dinner I had the pan seared scallops over risotto. That too was amazing. The waitress was great and suggested meals that she liked. They had music playing in the back ground and it was nice and not to loud. I would recommend this place. Almost forgot we all shared two desserts. Amazing.

Who’d have thought a French-inspired bistro in the former Nestor’s?(r.i.p.) Just a short walk from the Erie Canal from either the Tonawanda or North Tonawanda sides. Attention boaters! I’ve visited a number of times now — for holidays, special occasions, as well as «just ‘cuz» — and each has been delicious and comfortably elegant. Pricing is typical of a finer dining experience. Attire should be your good jeans and a tucked-in button-down or better. No matter what you wear, the staff is friendly and accommodating. Parisian atmosphere, and if you weren’t looking out the window at the transmission shop across the street, you might mistake it for Left Bank(though I’ve been told since the very beginning that the similarities are entirely coincidental). There is bar seating for drinking/dining, and an awning-covered patio in the warmer months. I’ve enjoyed a number of surprises on the well sized and varied menu, most recently a roasted duck breast with roasted veggies and a great sweet potato gratin. There is a decent little wine list as well, and it is worth saving room for dessert(or taken to-go). Overall, an unexpected gem. On a couple occasions I’ve been a bit puzzled by the portion/price ratio for appetizers and entrees(for which, I’m giving a half star deduction, down from 4.5). For example: I was quite happy with a nice sized duck breast for about $ 26 but my Valentine got three diver scallops for $ 31. I recommend, and will be back. In answer to a question from Barbara(the owner) about my favorite dish: I tend to try something different each time; the specials have always been intriguing. The Seafood Stew would definitely be my favorite from the ‘standard’ menu.)

We’ve been wanting to check out Webster’s but have been in denial since the closing of Nestor’s. We are so happy we went in on a whim this Ash Wednesday. The atmosphere and the service was fantastic. We had a wonderful meal. We split the escargot and French onion soup. Both were great and flavorful. I had the champagne battered fish fry which was the perfect size and the batter was delicious. My boyfriend got the small plate of the pork belly with polenta. That was just as good. We finished our meal with a French press and beignets. It was worth getting dessert even though we typically do not go for it. We are definitely looking forward to heading back there soon. I would love to sit outside on their patio when the weather warms up!

Webster’s simply does not disapoint. My husband and I have dined at this local sweet spot several times and have always been delighted. It’s not a problem to simply take a seat at the bar and order drinks and dinner. The food is refined but not snobby and priced very well. The coconut cake was AMAZING. The photo will not do it justice. The best part about Webster’s though is the service. Attentive without hovering– I dropped my napkin(without realizing it) and the manager(yes, manager) pardoned himself for interrupting to offer me a new one! They also have a loyalty card– be sure to ask about it. A favorite N.T. place indeed!

Had an amazing dinner at the Webster last night. The entire experience was smooth and delightful from the reservation making through to the final departure where we were approached by several of the staff ensuring our experience was to our satisfaction. Two of us had steak. My tenderloin was cooked to perfection. One of the diners thought his steak was slightly undercooked. However the steaks and sides were delicious! One in our party had scallops and shrimp in a lobster sauce over penne pasta. It was so tasty, the scallops and shrimp cooked perfectly. Dessert was shared and was loved by all. Highly recommend the bananas foster!

I love a restaurant that pays attention to detail and Webster’s does so. It’s always the little details that make a difference! The host checked our table before we were taken to it and I observed him adjust the alignment of the fork. As a person with minor OCD, this made me feel really happy! We had a fabulous server who welcomed us and welcomed me for my first visit. She then rubber stamped the paper tablecloth with the logo which was a nice touch! My date and I ate SOMUCHFOOD. I started with the French Onion soup and my date had the Mussels Provencal. The soup was huge. You could easily split it between two people. For dinner I had the Chicken Francaise and my date had Yellowfin Tuna. For dessert, we split a French press and crème brulee. All of the food was fantastic and perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was so good that I ate every bite and just wanted to go home and take a nap after eating! You could have rolled me out of there. I can’t wait to go back and try something new on the menu.

Hello This place is amazing went for restaurant week .I have been wanting to go for awhile now and I didn’t think we would be able to get a table since it was a afternoon Saturday on restaurant week. They only had, 2 time slots a 4:30 and 8:30 I choose the 4:30 don’t like eating late. Glad I did we were the second customers there and the place is impeccable so nicely fine every detail is well thought out all the way to the bathroom with rock soap. The food was prepared fresh we opted for crab cake appetizer heavenly it was the salad for the DaY was Caesar salad with pickled onions sundried tomato and blue cheese and bacon and blue cheese vinaigrette. I had beef burgundy can’t spell the French name sorry the wife had chicken fricassee both came with potato and asparagus both well prepared and for dessert I opted for the beignets delicious will go back again and again.

For ambience and attention to detail from the moment you walk in the door; for genuine joy of staff that translates into attentive, thoughtful service; for a menu of exquisite choices to please any palette, and for food that is absolutely delicious — prepared and presented with perfection… No less than 5 stars! I left the restaurant making plans to return often and introduce friends and family to this wonderful experience.

Great meal & excellent service. Loved the French menu selections. Lamb chops were perfect and so yummy that when I thought I was done, I had to pick up & suck every ounce of meat off the bone! Not very ladylike but I didn’t care. Beef bourguignon was also delicious & hearty.

Three of us had dinner there in September and we all agreed it was the best meal we had had anywhere in years! Our food was not only delicious, it was beautiful and the portions were perfect. Our server took very good care of us. Friendly, polite and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. The atmosphere was warm and lovely. Glass and flat wear sparkled. Everything about our dining experience at Webster’s was perfect.

My fourth visit was as wonderful as the first three… The ambiance and impeccable service at this restaurant points to a knowledgable management staff… Wish so many other places realized how important your staff is… The face of your business. I try something different every time and this time was the Ribeye… after an ample cheese plate that complimented our wine choice for the evening… It was covered in melted cheese and wonderful. My wife again had the seafood stew, which was spectacular as usual. We never have room for dessert but the choices were very tempting… love this place, wonderful for a romantic evening, anniversary or birthday…

My only regret was that it took me so long to get here. I’m sorry for those people who had bad experiences and wrote negative reviews, please go back because this place is a gem. The food is worth considerably more than what is charged. I had a bone in pork chop that was $ 26 and would easily fetch $ 40 if this place were downtown. The cheese plate was sublime. Crab cakes were loaded with crab and not bread crumbs. Salmon Wellington was $ 19 and was worth every bit of $ 30, which is what it would cost in many other places in the city. Service was outstanding. Two apps, two salads, four entrees and 2 bottles of wine for just over $ 200. You absolutely will never find food this good at anywhere near the price. I can’t wait to go back. I strongly suggest patio, but be patient in busier nights.

Absolutely going back!!! What a gem… My husband and I went with another couple who were virgins to Webster’s. We met at the quaint, friendly and very well tended bar and were given a detailed drink menu by our extremely fun and knowledgeable bartender. I had a French Cosmopolitan — which I highly recommend. My husband had a freshly made margarita(not frozen) that was delicious! We were then seated on the lovely patio. My dinner companions had the bouillabaisse but substituted risotto for the pasta(our waitress’ suggestion) and they were thrilled that they did. I ordered the lamb chops that were cooked to perfection. We then had a French press coffee that was so good, I bought a French press the next day! Everyone we encountered in the restaurant from the host to the waitress to the busboy was extremely friendly. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try I can’t wait to go back!

Great food and atmosphere… This was our first visit and we will definitely return. Webster’s Bistro Bar is a French Restaurant in North Tonawanda with delicious food. They do have salads, steaks and burgers on the menu for those who don’t care for French food. Desserts include Beignets, chocolate crepes that were delicious… They have a very nice bar to sit and have a cocktail before or after dinner.

We dined here on April 24th, 2015. This is my third time dining here, and was the best meal yet. I love the style of the restaurant. It’s sophisticated without being stuffy, and the staff is great. The host was friendly and our table was ready even though we arrived early. Our server came over right away(it was her first night and she did a great job!), and was very quick to bring our cocktails. I opted for Jameson on the rocks, my husband had a Jack and Coke. For appetizers, we had the Clams Fra-Diavlo. They’re clams so they don’t really have any flavor, but the sauce was really good. Rich and spicy but not too much. A few of them were gritty but I don’t think that’s uncommon when eating clams. The second appetizer was on the specials menu. Seared scallops with poached pears, radishes and watercress. Seriously, the best scallops I’ve ever eaten. They had an excellent, dark sear but weren’t burned or overcooked at all. Each bite was delicious on it’s own, but when you ate all 3 together it was really delightful. It was hard to trade plates with my husband — I wanted all 4 of those suckers for myself! For an entrée I had the Bone-in Pork Chop(served with a peach and red pepper coulis, duck confit sweet potatoes and asparagus). Two days later I am still daydreaming about this meal. The chop was cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender, and so flavorful. Paired with the peach coulis, it was exquisite. The sides were equally as good. Beautiful bright green asparagus, and the creamiest sweet potato medallions. Who doesn’t love a potato cooked in duck fat? Oy, they were tasty! My husband opted for the Ribeye topped with bleu cheese and caramelized onions(which is the dinner I usually order). His entrée came with roasted fingerling potatoes and green beans, and was delicious as well. Whomever they have manning the grill is really good at their job. The menu is well rounded. I think that even the pickiest diner could find a menu item that’s to their liking. I am looking forward to going back and ordering the chicken crepes appetizer, and the roasted beet salad. Webster’s is really a top-shelf dining experience. One to be savored. If you’re looking for a menu that is like every other restaurant in the Tonawandas, then this isn’t the restaurant for you. You won’t find any chicken wings or subs or pasta with frozen meatballs or a fish fry. If you like a place with a creative daily menu(and an even more creative special menu) then you need to go to Webster’s. They go the extra mile on everything — from the table setting to the way they package your leftovers(no foil swans here!). Is it expensive? Sure. But I’d rather skip 3 ho-hum dining experiences someplace else and blow the dining out budget on this place. It’s that good.

A friend of mine recommended Webster’s to me so I thought I’d give it a go on Valentine’s Day. Bad move! Why? I was hoping to explore their menu but on Valentine’s Day… like most restaurants… they had a Valentine’s Day menu. Meaning it was severely limited. We each had a glass of wine and my wife had the scallops. I had the prime rib. Overall, I didn’t sense any creativity in either dish. I recognize that with a fixed menu there’s not a lot of room for creativity but then again… why not? The scallops and prime rib were at or below average in my opinion. I basically felt like I overpaid for a couple of very basic dishes that I could have gotten at any other place. I’m wondering if I’ll get myself to go back… because I do want to try their real menu but at the same time I didn’t find Webster’s to be anything special. If their V-day menu is indicative of their regular fare then… I will have to pass.

Visited on December 24, 2013. French cooking really isn’t my thing. I’m not a huge fan. However, I can say that my food was good, although I didn’t find it to be anything to rave about. I had a special, a fish dish, although I don’t remember the specifics, it was a fried fish, perhaps bass, maybe tilapia, had some fried potato balls with it and a veggie. Everyone else in my party loved their food. The beef bourguignon was enjoyed by my mother, she said it was delicious, my father loved the seafood stew. The one thing that really stuck out for me was the Banana’s foster, and not in a good way. I hadn’t had a real foster since I was in New Orleans in 2003, so I was really looking forward to it. I thought that a french place like this would get it right… boy was I wrong. The dessert came out to me already put together, when I had in in NOLA is was flambéed in front of me, so this wasn’t a good start. When I dug into the dish I found that the sauce was already hardened over the ice cream. I was looking for ice cream and bananas sitting in a warm sauce… so it was disappointing for sure. The taste was okay, but I would say they need to reevaluate how they serve it. I wouldn’t return here unless someone else in my family really wanted to go, and I would make some diffrerent choices about what I got for sure.

The ambiance here is up there with some of my favorites(Coco, Shango, La Tavola, Left Bank). The bathroom itself is deserving of a praise; not only was it clean, but there was hand sugar/exfoliate made by a local business. Such a great touch which did not go unappreciated. They are really going for a French theme here which I always appreciate, even if it is a little over the top and perhaps inauthentic. I still love it. Service was great. Even though it was Restaurant Week and they were clearly understaffed, our server(Matt — in case the managers are reading!) was quick and attentive. Very professional. The food was good but not memorable — I was not left craving for more or dying to return and order the same. Also, the beer and wine selection was not thrilling. Glass of Apothic Red for $ 7 … yikes. Can buy a bottle for $ 10 at a liquor store. Although the food did not blow us away, I would return just to experience the atmosphere again. Perhaps sit at the bar and order some small plates. This restaurant is a gem in North Tonawanda and stands out amongst the sports bars and casual grills. Great addition.

I went with my wife and another couple for dinner. We thought the ambiance was great but the food was just average. We had a fantastic Saint Emilion and a few martinis that were also quite good. For appetizers we had a ceviche special that tasted mostly of citrus and no seafood. Two of us had the Chicken Francaise and were a bit disappointed as the risotto was watery and not very flavorful and the chicken was overpowered by the lemon-flavored sauce. My wife had the Salmon Wellington which was pretty good. The fourth dish was a French stew with beef and vegetables which was very good. Overall, it was an OK meal but not anywhere on the level of a Rue Franklin or Tabree(two of our favorites), and not something I would rush to again. I understand that Rue Franklin is MUCH more expensive but the food is far better there.

Love this place… It’s one of my favorite restaurants. Barbara the owner… just goes out of her way. As does Rosemarie… I believe she’s a manager., anyway… both lovely and accommodating. All the servers have been just great as well. But the food… I can’t say enough about the wonderful menu, there’s something for everyone. Even the pickiest eater. The mushrooms napoleon is one of my faves. The salmon in puffed pastry. And the simple chicken francais… to die for. Could go on and on … just go there !!

Webster’s opened a while ago and I admit I wish I went sooner. Do yourself a favor and don’t make the same mistake I did. This restaurant can stack up to the best of them(Talking about ones in more popular suburbs), but make no mistake, this is a HIDDENGEM in North Tonawanda. I’m labeling it a MUSTGO. I went last night, a Wednesday night, for a family dinner. I didn’t know much about the place. As soon as I walked in I was pleasantly surprised. The Atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. It took me back to my NYC days with fantastic décor making this place the prefect date place, family dinner place, or even business dinner location to take a client. The very professionally dressed staff was walking around calm, despite a full bar and dining room. Again it was mid week — i began to wonder then have I been missing something here? Locals clearly know its a great spot! For the Food we ordered the Escargots and Chicken Crepes, and a Apple salad to start, all outstanding. Since I wasn’t sure what to expect this made our whole table now excited for dinners. The table olive bread is also very very good. We all ordered, from Chicken Cordon Blue, to Chicken Francaise, Seafood Stew, to Casserole and special of the night — Scallop/Shrimp in a lobster sauce over penne pasta. All of them I would order again and my family loved trying all the dishes. The food here so far is top of the line, for anywhere in Buffalo in my opinion. I can’t wait to go back and try more. Venture out to North Tonawanda and give it a try…

I promised to give this review an update once I ate dinner here, so here it is! This is a great spot for an intimate date or to celebrate an occasion. It bids itself as a French style bistro and it succeeds in creating a distinct European atmosphere: from the music(when they play the French music — please play it ALL the time!), to the lighting and the food; there’s an elegant dining experience waiting for you(and your loved one!) here. My fiancé and I walked in here pretty late on a week night. It must have been around 8:45pm or so and dinner service was just about to end, but they seated us anyway(thank you!!). The service was really great and we understood that they were starting to clean up as we got our food. Despite that, we never felt rushed in anyway and we were grateful to have been seated without a reservation(because this place gets really busy on pretty much all nights of the week!). I ordered a french onion soup and their Beef Wellington Burger, while my fiancé ordered the Vegetarian Tartine and a Mushroom Napoleon. Our appetizers came out quickly and were super good! Her mushroom napolean was served in a puff pastry and was tender and full of flavor! My french onion soup was impeccable. Simply divine! Our entrees came out afterward and here’s where I docked a star. My burger was pretty much done well and there was no pink in it at all, despite me asking for it medium rare. I did mention this to the waiter but let him know that it was okay, I didn’t want to have them recook it as it was near closing down(plus I try not to waste food too much). I ate it and it was okay, but wish it was cooked to order. I did try my partner’s Vegetarian Tartine and it was amazing. Crispy, fresh and oh so good! I plan on coming back here again soon. So far I’ve tried their chicken & crepes, cheese & pâté plate(which was great, but had too much blue cheese!) and their stuffed peppers along with the other menu items mentioned in this review. Everything but the burger has been worth raving about. The ambiance itself makes this place worthwhile to check out. I’m a huge fan!
