Benefit Brow Bar at Ulta

I visited the brow bar after moving to the area a few months ago. I normally get threaded but decided to try waxing for once. I did all my research and watched the you tube videos to see exactly what I was paying $ 21 for. I made my decision and made an appt with Jenny (which I see others mentioned her in their reviews also) I walk in on time and I said «Hi, I have a 3:20 appt» without even looking at me as she cleaned utensils Jenny says «have a seat». She immediately starts waxing. Ummmm hello? What about just saying Hi first and telling me your name before your breathe on me for the next 4 minutes and asking me how i like my brows shaped??? Nothing? What about the reviews that showed the aesthetician explaining to the client how your brow should be shaped? I interrupted her and she says «I’m just cleaning them» I wish I had a before and after of how botched my brows are. Very frustrating. She literally finished waxing them, passed me the mirror and my receipt and walked away. Extremely impersonal and disconnected. At the register I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip, I told her that I was disappointed with my experience and that Jenny needs some coaching on her personal skills. Not worth the $ 21 here at all! Save your money and go get threaded for $ 10. Sorry for the rant!

Botched Brows

I made an appointment with Jennifer at the Benefit Brow Bar. I specifically made the appointment with her based on another review. When I got there, she was doing a kid’s makeup, and asked another employee to do my brows since she would be a while. I wasn’t thrilled. I had an appointment! The other girl did an ok job on my brows, but I wouldn’t say a great job. And literally two minutes after she started, Jennifer was done with the other person she was helping. Since, I have found Cintia at the Horsham location, and she does a spectacular job on my eyebrows every time!

After one too many botched brow waxes, I decided to let my brows grow in before I headed to Ulta’s Benefit Brow Bar. I had Angela, who is awesome and talked me through the process. First, she drew on where my brows should be naturally and followed those lines when waxing. Afterwards, she told me how to properly fill them in and where I needed to let grow in a little bit more. Yes, it may seem pricey at $ 20 for a wax, but you’re also getting a tutorial into how to properly do your brows, which is really priceless :)
I don’t know what kind of wax they use, but it was absolutely painless. Furthermore, I would always break out after a wax due to my sensitive skin, but a week later I still don’t have any issues. Overall, an awesome experience and I will definitely be back!

Benefit brow bar is amazing! The whole process is completely different than any waxing you’ve ever had — I promise! First of all, they shade your brows in the way they SHOULD be shaped. Then they wax, pluck, and trim around that shape. This helps grow in (if need be) the spots that need to grow out. Mine have been over plucked, and I needed help growing them out. They seriously spend 10 – 15 minutes perfecting the shape and arch of your brows. They talk you through the process and have you hold up a mirror during a good portion of it, so that you can watch. While $ 20 for a brow waxing may seem like a lot, I PROMISE it is not. You’ve never had a wax this perfect before. It’s worth the extra money. I HIGHLY recommend Angela. She is amazing at her job, sweet, and highly professional! I can’t say enough good things! You can pay for your service and tip via card at the counter, but I would at least bring a cash tip. Also, you can call ahead and make an appointment.

I am orginally from Lansdale but moved to San Francisco where I discovered the Benefit Brow since that’s where it was founded and there’s several bars in the city. I searched all over Montco for a Benefit bar and found this one so I made an appt. I got Jennifer from Ukraine as my stylist. I swear, she must have spent fifteen minutes on each brow making sure it was perfectly arched. When she gave me the mirror and looked at my new, beautifully-​trimmed brows, I couldn’t stop thanking her enough. I have been getting my brows, waxed /​threaded for 10+ years and she waxed them only how I have visioned in my head. Every single time I get my brows done by someone else, they take too much off and make my brows ultra thin, which WILL make you look older! I highly recommend Jennifer for all your waxing needs and I hope she’s still there when I return back home!
