Tex Mex Connection

We had heard that Tex Mex had great Mexican food, so we stopped by on a Tuesday evening to check them out. When we walked in, we noticed the bar took up the entire room and it first appeared as if it were either bar seating or outdoor seating, but apparently there’s a second floor with regular tables (if we’d known that, we may not have sat at the bar, which had subpar service and loud older men). First they bring out the chips and salsa which were pretty good but a little bit bland in flavor (they’re complementary, but if you want them refilled then you have to pay), and we ordered a Goose Island Summertime Kosch beer (which was probably the highlight of the visit) and the double IPA. I ordered two cheese enchiladas in the black bean sauce, which were so small for the price. The black bean sauce was way too sweet and a little bland in flavor as well, and there was so much of it– I had to scrape it off to actually taste the cheese– but it was a whole overpowering taste of nothing that masked the taste of everything else, just sitting on my enchiladas. The side of black beans and rice were good though. My boyfriend had an enchilada, a burrito, and a chimichanga that came topped with chili sauce, salsa, and sour cream, and he enjoyed his meal. I couldn’t really hear anything the bartender said because he spoke quietly and the bar was pretty loud. The service was probably what you’d expect at a pretty crowded bar. I’d really hesitate about returning again.

We went out to dinner tonight to Tex Mex in North Wales. We were there early, around 5:30. There were about 4 – 5 tables filled. We waited and someone walked by and said he would seat us in a minute. He came back over, got the menus, asked if we wanted kids’s menus and we said yes. Then he asked if we had a shirt for our son. My husband said, «a shirt???» Because obviously he had a shirt on. He had on a brand new basketball jersey that he got for his birthday yesterday. The man said, yes, our policy is that all gentlemen must have sleeves. I said, «well he’s 6». And the man said, I know but it is our policy. We can give him a shirt. My husband said, «he has a shirt and he’s 6, clearly that can’t apply». And the man repeated the policy and said they could not serve us if we didn’t change his shirt. My son was upset at this point, so we just left. As we were leaving, we spotted a woman wearing a t-​shirt, with cut off sleeves (that she clearly did herself) and was tattooed up and down her arms. No offense to anyone with tattoos, but I didn’t think my 6-​year old was dressed worse than that lady!!! Won’t ever go back there again.

Great restaurant! We hosted a bridal shower here and couldn’t have been more pleased with the service and space. The staff was super helpful and the food was delicious! It was a cost-​effective place to host a classy event. I highly recommend! Everything was awesome!

This is difficult for me. The service and food are great. But the manager squeezed 13 people at a table for 10 and when we tried to speak to him about it he blamed the owner who was not there. He then offered us something as a consolation we did not want. We had plates and glasses on the floor. Very disappointed

Nachos, quesadillas, margaritas. I come here once every 4 months maybe and its a great place to hang out with friends. Its really nice when they have the tiki party in the summer. But I recently came here with my 2^nd family. Not only did we get margsritas but we got some chips and dipping sauces like salsa and queso.
Everything was super yummy. I know that this place only allows us to get a limit of 3 margaritas but I dont think there should be a limit on how many we get.
Overall though great location and good food.

Portions are on the smaller side. Food is fresh and very good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I usually love this place very much. my girlfriends and I went in for after shopping drinks and the bar was fun. we headed upstairs. we didn’t see a host so we walked into the dining room on your own. a sever stopped us. we asked «no we seat ourselves». the waiter was rude and said «no you do not. go back and I’ll be with you in a minute» we waiting at the top of the stairs for about 7 minutes until he came back to seat us. right off the bat he was rude. I’m glad he wasn’t our sever. the rest of the night was amazing. I just wish there was a host or a sign or something to help us!

Nothing to write home about. Lack of seasoning on everything. Soggy tortillas. REALLY dry chicken. Looks like a place to drink rather than eat.

I can’t lie about this place. Its a local hype. The best part of my meal was the chili con queso, guacamole and margaritas. The food was so bland and had no flavor.

Went to an event earlier in the evening and found this place to stop for some grub on the way home!
The food definitely is tex mex, so if you come here expecting more authentic Mexican food, it isn’t what you are going to get. The food was really good! All three of us at the table ordered the Mexican Platter with two items. I had a cheese enchilada and the chili rellenos. Both were flavorful, fresh and tasty! Others got the enchilada, burrito, and chimichangas. Everyone enjoyed their meals and finished what was on our plates.
I also ordered the Nacho Sampler to go so I could bring my boyfriend back some dinner. They packaged everything up nicely so nothing was soggy when it got home. My boyfriend really enjoyed his meal as well!
Service was good too! I would certainly come back here if I was in the area and wanted Tex Mex.

Great southwest Style (Tex Mex) food. Seems fresh. Great menu offering. I enjoyed the vegetable soup, salad, and warm tortillia chips. Too early (lunch) for the tequila, but they offer several shots on the menu. Beautiful Decorations, chairs, and tables that fit the tex mex style.

The food and margaritas are great ! The waitstaff are awesome. The only downside it that it’s very small.

Tex Mex is a cute place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks. The bar and outside deck are really nice looking and it’s a fun place to watch a game or celebrate cinco de mayo. I grew up in Lansdale and it is in my opinion one of the nicer bars in the area. The food however, is disgusting. I made better Mexican food in my dorm room in college. Your best bet is eat somewhere else then go there for drinks after.

Somehow this place never seems to live up to its expectations. While festive and inviting on the outside the atmosphere inside is much less so festive. And over our last several visits the bar service has sucked. We prefer to eat at the bar. Perhaps the bartenders are so overwhelmed that they cannot find time to provide friendly service. Maybe they’re too busy chitchatting with friends to refill a customer’s water or offer additional cocktails. The food is just OK. The soup is good. But… Nothing to make a special trip for. Add mediocre food to consistently bad service and there’s no need to go here at all.

Great food and good margarita! Yeah! Always enjoy it. Nice waitstaff. Never disappoints.

Damn people. Calm down.
What do you people expect from here? Luxury dining? Idk im from california so i grew up in hispanic area where you smell mexican food every block of the street so im just glad that i found mexican food in Lansdale. If you all wanna complain about over crowdedness or cleanliness just go to real luxury restaurant or go visit california theres all kinds of luxury in huge city with rich people. Im just giving this place 5 stars for the hell of it.

We ordered from here once and it wasn’t that great. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. The food didn’t taste that good… like it wasn’t fresh. Definitely not one place I would go to again and definitely would not refer it to anyone else. The environment isn’t that great either…

I ordered queso, which was served likewarm.
The margarita was premade and poured into the glass.
Brent, the bar tender (April 12^th) served chips but no salsa.
He proceeded with snatch the menu with my phone on it.
Didn’t offer to replace the empty glass.
And there were less than 10 people at the bar on this Monday night. Awful all around.

Was taken there for my birthday, so I didn’t want to complain to my wife that it wasn’t that great but she admitted that she felt the same.
The food was pretty bland. We both felt like the meat in our tacos and our fajitas needed to be seasoned.
The service was okay but nothing to brag about. I feel like a waitress was new so I don’t want to knock her efforts.
We were glad that they had a lot of items on their menu that were gluten-​free. But I don’t know if that will be enough to bring us back.
