My 16-year-old son took cooking lessons from Julia Poppins; lessons he enjoyed while taking them, because Dane is awesome with the youth. But the real magic happens later: He thinks nothing of seeing what’s the the fridge, and then making a stew, or a soup out of random ingredients. As a picky vegetarian, he learned to eat new foods, and try any recipe. Every week, he cooks for the family and we eat well; last week he made cauliflower wings that tasted amazing(and I don’t like vegetables!). Dane makes sure students learn a lot about shopping, menu planning, prep, cooking, and best of all, clean up! I couldn’t be happier.

A year ago, if it was up to me to cook I’d make pasta with store bought pesto and eat some carrot sticks. Tonight, I made homemade mac n cheese and roasted cauliflower with garlic, just by looking in my pantry and seeing what I had. I couldn’t have done it without Julia Poppins — my life, health, and taste buds have all benefited from these lessons, and I couldn’t recommend her more.
