I’ve never written a review on Unilocal but I feel compelled to share my experience with others. My daughter flew in from San Diego for her wedding. She brought her wedding dress to Kims to be pressed. She dropped it off on a Wednesday and pickup was scheduled for Saturday. Now, it’s a Marine Special Ops tradition to have the name tag from his camouflaged uniform sewn into the bottom inside of the bride’s dress. My daughter had the tag sewn into the dress in San Diego. I, the father of the bride, picked up the dress on Saturday morning and brought the dress home to where my daughter was having her make up and hair done. Imagine our dismay and panic when she check for the nametag and it was missing! Immediately, I went back to Kims to find out why he had removed the name tag and to retrieve and sew it back. After arriving I had to wait while another customer was complaining why she was charged a hem fee when her dress had not been hemmed. So when she was done ranting and left very upset, man who operates the business and the one we originally spoke with about pressing the dress, told me it is their practice to remove all tags from a dress. He couldn’t understand why she would want the tag on her dress. Now, I could understand if it was a manufacturers and size tag that was sewn to the back or side of a piece of clothing. But, a green name tag with large blue lettering sewn on the inside bottom of a white wedding dress? I asked why he didn’t call to confirm to ask. He told me they remove all tags. Except this wasn’t a small white tag! Why not a phone call to ask? I, then, asked if he had the tag since he had just pressed it the day before. Well, he threw it away in the trash. I sifted through 6 bins of trash. I looked through, receipts, clothing remnants, empty coffee cups but could not find the name tag. I asked him if he would at least compensate and reimburse part of my bill for his mistake, He told me no because, in his words, «You no find anyone do cheaper.» He’s right and I bet I couldn’t find anyone to do a hack job like him either. He had zero percent compassion and understanding of the situation. Anyways, I will NEVER bring anything there and I hope my experience convinces you to bring your valuable clothing to another business in town.

I took my daughter’s prom dress here to be hemmed. The dress was butchered. The hems aren’t even and the inside layer is 3 inches shorter than the outside layer. We are very unhappy with the results. The man at Kim’s refused to fix the dress or return even part of the $ 97 I paid for the alterations. I am very disappointed with his lack of response.

Kim’s has a nice new location on Beanes Ln. Good for dry cleaning and also hemming pants.
