I have never been a gym person, but 9Round is the place for me! I walk my dogs on average 3.5 miles every day, but decided it was time to add something else to my exercise routine(getting older means you have to work harder). I can’t do classes where everyone is following along with an instructor. I’m just not coordinated enough(i.e. never could have been a cheerleader or dancer, etc…). I also don’t like using the treadmill and weight machines and all the other stuff in typical gyms. I was nervous to walk in the door and my first workout was more challenging than I expected. I just thought I was in better shape than I really was. I waited a little while before going back to join(first workout is always free), but realized I was just being a baby about it. A lot of moms from the neighborhood are members and were raving about it, so I just bit the bullet and finally joined. It was a wise decision for sure! My goal was to go three days a week, but I usually go four days because I love it and can’t wait to get in there. You get a really good workout in 30 minutes! Why not go more often?!? This is perfect for my busy schedule. I get in, do my workout, get out and on with my day. There’s really no excuse not to go. During my first few weeks of going there, I realized that I just feel better when I leave. Even if I don’t really feel like going because I’m tired or busy, I make myself go because I know I’ll feel great when I walk out the door. You get your heart rate up, you sweat like crazy, you work your whole body, and you feel better about yourself. The owners are so nice and welcoming. Every trainer works you hard and helps you do your best. It’s a no judgement zone. I don’t worry about if I’m wearing the right workout clothes or if there are people who are clearly better or stronger than me. Who cares?!? We’re all in there to get our workout in and feel better about ourselves. I’m a pretty self conscious person and that’s what usually keeps me out of the gym. I am very comfortable at 9Round because the employees and the members are great! There’s also something awesome about getting your frustrations out on a punching bag :)
